Made the pregnancy announcement this weekend. So glad to not have to keep it a secret!
For STMs, when did you start looking for a pediatrician? Any questions I should ask? Doctors office told me to start looking now.
GTKY: How did you meet your SO?
I work at a college teaching math and tutoring math. Some of our classes have the setup where a class has an instructor and one or two tutors in it. DH was the instructor and I was the tutor for the class. We were just friends to start with for a couple years. I actually had a little bit of a thing with one of his best friends. When that ended, we started dating and the rest is history.

Still have gas. Nausea is subsiding. My favorite pj bottoms are getting snug.

Q: I want to look into taking a Lamaze class, but is there ones for single mom's or no partners?
Rave: Ebay. Is. Amazing. Literally have bought most of my clothes for the upcoming changes and have spent literally nothing!

Upcoming appts this week? I had one on Monday! Got to see my peanut! Everything looks good! 

New symptoms or changes? Holy bloat! Last night I looked like I was 20wks pregnant! Thankfully I bloat like that at night and not during the day. The nausea comes and goes. Some days I feel okay, other days I get sick after every meal. I am also napping so much!

I am going to have to buy clothes, my scrubs are fitting tight! 

GTKY: How did you meet your SO? I met him through my sister! My sister begged me to take her to meet this guy at the mall (she was 17, I was 19). The guy she wanted to see didn't have a car so he asked my SO to take him. We met and clicked and have literally been together ever since! So random and I love it!

@tova24 are you looking for single mom classes because you don't want to explain again and again why your bff is there instead of a DH, or to adapt the techniques for solo use? If the latter, I haven't heard of any (but also haven't looked), so I might recommend asking a friend to be your partner.

If the former, ugh, understandable. I usually go into similar situations with lots of bravado and bluster, like "what do you mean it's not normal to be here with my bff? Obviously this is a good choice and I'm not worried about it so why should you be?" I also ask a lot of questions and raise my hand to answer things during these classes, so it works for me. Other people are much better about flying under the radar.

NT Scan was yesterday.  Nothing for a full week!  :-) 

Any new symptoms or changes?
Still feel like crap, but at least I can eat a bit and am feeling some energy.

Both my mother and my sister are harassing me to tell them the sex.  I'm super pissed.  My husband doesn't want to know; I do.  In order not to ruin the surprise for him I planned on finding out & not telling anyone.  Now both my mom and my sister are harassing me because they know the NIPT results tell you sex.  It's sort of ruining the fun of me finding out.  I got angry and told them I wasn't finding out the sex anymore.  My sister insisted then that I send her the results so only she knows because she wants to clean out her baby stuff.  Seriously?!  If I tell her, then her husband will know...  I hate pushy people this week.

GTKY: How did you meet your SO?
I met my husband on a blind date!  The backstory:  I met a good friend for coffee at Starbucks to catch up and after telling her about my prior date fiasco (which started 45 min and lasted 20 min) and why I was done dating, she informed me that probably wouldn't be possible because she had a good looking lawyer friend to whom she had already given my email address and phone number.  Not wanting to make her look bad, I went on the date.  We really hit it off!

@lyse0. I'm looking for a class that is geared towards single mom's and adapting to single parent techniques. I am going at this alone and won't have a partner to help with the feeding schedule, hold my hand during labor, or drive me to the hospital. I need a class that teaches you another way to do things. so far all the books I have been reading have put immense emphasis on a partner and nothing about doing it alone

Also, I totally hate the dreaded "where is he? what do you mean he's not going to be there? "

I am stalking eBay for a pair of Paige denim maternity jeans , but so far no luck.  I want skinny jean style, but they are all wide leg in my size right now.  I only have a few pair of maternity pants and most of the ones from last pregnancy are too big. They all stretched terribly and didn't retain their shape.  I want a nice pair of maternity jeans, but can't see spending $200. Sadly all my pre pregnancy jeans are a little uncomfortably snug.  May need to stick with leggings and oversize sweaters to make it through winter.

nothing this week - last U/S with our RE is Friday, February 3rd and then I'm turned over my OB!

I've had a headache all week but I'm not sure if it's the pregnancy or our crazy weather changes (I'm in Ohio!)

One friend in particular is bothering me about finding out the sex. We don't want to and she thinks we are absolutely crazy. She is about 2 weeks ahead of me in her pregnancy and already knows hers bc of NIPT results. Great - she makes her decisions and we have made ours! Stop making me feel bad!

good old eharmony.com! I had tried online dating before and had no luck, including dating a guy that I later found out was engaged (!!), so I took a little break and then what do you know, my first date with DH was awesome...and the rest is history. We actually just went out for our "first date anniversary" at the place we met for dinner...7 years ago!

Omg!  I thought I had a terrible run of dating bad luck before I met my hubby.  Finding out the guy you were dating was engaged tops it all.  That must have been a shock!  Not sure I would have had the guts to date again after that one.

@Lauradi1010 hahaha it was pretty messed up. He tried to deny it up and down after the fact when he would send me these "I miss you" texts and I called him out....noooo thank you!

We told my parents on Monday and will hopefully be making a public/fb announcement soon. I just hate the attention. Like, say congrats and move on. I don't want to answer questions or really talk about it.

He is a drum line instructor and I am a color guard instructor. We met when we were teaching at a high school together, in 2006.

I ordered some maternity bras from amazon and they are such a game changer! I am so much more comfortable and I'm not flashing headlights anymore. Also, super affordable! 3/ $30!
GTKY: How did you meet your SO?
We met in high school. He moved from a village (we're in Alaska) to my small town and joined the debate team, where we spent a lot of time together. We started dating when I was 15, went to the same college in WA and stayed in love, got married when I was 20, and moved back to our home town 2 years ago so I could accept a teaching position. I'm so glad that we both have our parents here to help out with childcare, and our community is really supportive as well.

Any new symptoms or changes?
I have gone from having morning starvation - I was a bottomless pit - to not being able to eat a normal meal without feeling like I'm stuffed and overate.   I'm still super tired.  But my boss was super nice.  I had to drive 140 mile for work, leaving my house at 4:45 this morning.  My boss insisted on ordering me a car service.  So i got to sleep in the car and not have to worry about sitting in traffic on the way home.

Nothing right now.  I just can't wait to see my little beans next week.

GTKY: How did you meet your SO?  I started a new job, I was already dating someone. My husband saw me and made the supervisor introduce me to him.  I worked 11p-7a, he worked 7a-3p on the weekends.  He started bringing me breakfast.  Then I switched my shift to 3p-11p and he worked 8-4 during the week.  So he would hang out with me from 3-4p.  I remember him asking me to see a movie in front of a bunch of patients and i was so embarrassed!!  I was technically still dating the other guy but was totally hating him because he moved away and we were trying to do long distance.  Or rather I was trying to do long distance -___-   Anyway, it all worked out in the end because now i have a DH who I know truly loves me as I do him
