How big is baby? According to my signature, she's the size of a bag of microwave popcorn!
Any appointments this week? None, but I'm waiting on a call from my MFM doc about the 24 hour urine test I dropped off yesterday...
Symptoms? I wouldn't call this a symptom, but I've recently realized that I can't squeeze through openings I was once able to squeeze through (behind chairs, etc)...aside from that, my sleep has been extra sucky lately. I keep waking up in the middle of the night and baby girl is super active so it keeps me from falling back asleep. UGH.
Cravings? Nothing in particular...this pregnancy has been surprising free of specific cravings.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I was hoping to have everything wrapped up by the end of January (room, basic needs, work leave plan, etc) and I'm just not there. I know it's fine because there is still plenty of time, but I also remember not feeling super great or motivated in my 3rd trimester with DS, so I'm trying not to put too much work on my future self...
GTKY: What are the things you love most about the place you grew up or the place you live now? Hmmm...that's a tough one...I'd say the thing I love most about where I live now, is that it has a really small town, close knit community feel, but it's only 10 miles from Boston (and my house is walking distance to a commuter rail), so we still have super easy access to a bigger city.
How far along are you?
25 Weeks!!
How big is baby?
Cauliflower or Nappa Cabbage. Oh or a Prairie Dog which I thought was adorable!
Any appointments this week?
Just going to do my 1 hour glucose test this Saturday. I am really hoping I pass the first time!
Symptoms?
Some stretching sensations in my skin on the top of my stomach, like right below my bust. Occasionally uncomfortable but it comes and goes thankfully. Other than that just little guy bouncing around in there!
Cravings?
They vary day to day and sometime minute to minute! Mostly it is something really bad and salty, like chips or fried pickles/mac and cheese but then I crave things like gummy bears. Trying to keep the cravings in check, I could totally eat a whole bag of chips in one sitting but try limiting it to a few chips.
Rants/Raves/Questions?
Anyone else already feel like they need a support belt? DH ordered me one for the pulling sensations I am having on my upper stomach so I hope that helps! Other than that we officially bought paint for the nursery so that is starting to get real! Can't wait to see it all painted!
GTKY: What are the things you love most about the place you grew up or the place you live now?
We live on Long Island, NY so it is really a great mix. We have beaches either North or South, we have wineries and farm for apple picking and stuff on the east end, and then we are just about an hour by train from the city! It really is just a great mix!

How big is baby? Coconut/guinea pig
Any appointments this week? Nada. Next checkup is 2/8, and I have to bring my 2-year-old with me since he won't be in preschool that morning. Should be fun.
Symptoms? Not much really -- I did lose my breath for the first time bending over to tie my shoes yesterday!
Cravings? I'm finally getting my appetite back after a bout of food poisoning last week, and now I want to eat the all the things. (Side bar: I had very little morning sickness, and after spending a whole night over the toilet, I don't know how all of you who had bad MS survived. Major props to you.)
Rants/Raves/Questions? I've been researching double strollers, and I've decided they're all terrible. I really think we'll need one, but I hate how cumbersome they all are. I'm also kicking myself for not investing in a nicer stroller with my first, like a City Select, that can go from a single to a double.
GTKY: What are the things you love most about the place you grew up or the place you live now? When I was pregnant with my first, we moved from NYC to this lovely town in NJ. Tons of young families, great sense of community, diverse, and still close to the city. All this, and I can get to Target in five minutes.
@lilylover27 , I have not used a support band, but I do wear a support tank under my shirt basically every day. I like them because they make the bump feel a little more secure and they make my clothing fit smoother.
How big is baby? Ear of Corn
Any appointments this week? Eye Dr and Hair appt, but none for baby
Symptoms? Doing OK this week
Cravings? I baked cookies and ate them ALL the next day, soooooo...
GTKY: What are the things you love most about the place you grew up or the place you live now? I LOVE the restaurants where I grew up and went to college (same town). I specifically miss a Mexican, Chinese, and sandwich place (3 different places). Even now that I live several hours away, when we are discussing options for going out to eat, I'll name restaurants 'back home' that I want. My husband does not see that as progress toward a decision!
How far along are you? 23 weeks
How big is baby? Grapefruit
Any appointments this week? Blood work I have been putting off for weeks has to happen today and a MFM appt with ultrasound Friday. I am so looking forward to seeing the baby.
Symptoms? Overwhelming exhaustion. And not a symptom, but i feel like a new stretch mark may have appeared which made me sad. Seems early since none were visible until after pregnancy last time.
Cravings? All the food, but especially oranges. I ate a 3lb bag in 2 days.
Rants/Raves/Questions? They sell crunchy speculoos cookie butter at Aldi now!!!!!
GTKY: What are the things you love most about the place you grew up or the place you live now? I live where I grew up (moved back 2 years ago). What I love most about this area is all the people that I care most about are here (except for my brother who moved to Cincinnati this summer). Because everyone I care about is here, there is always a million things to do and helping hands when I need them. When I lived away in a big city all my vacation time was spent coming back and I had far more days where I felt bored back then because I didn't have my people to do things with. I also love that the little area that I live has a pleasentville type of feel to it. Kids riding bikes and playing hockey in the streets, everyone says hi when walking, and there is always at least 4 old people in a constant radius that know if a car or person is out of place.

How big is baby? Chinchilla (love this one)
Any appointments this week? Had one today. Nothing exciting
Symptoms? Hungry all the time
Cravings? Not really. I'm just hungry a lot. Have always had a sweet tooth and so lately I've been eating gum balls.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Started putting up the nursery wallpaper. We bought the removable stuff that you get wet. Well it was a pain to put up so we ordered the already sticky back and will finish when that gets here. As soon as the wall paper is up we will do shelving and then the room will be mostly done. Will post a pic when we get that far.
GTKY: What are the things you love most about the place you grew up or the place you live now? I grew up in a small town. Was nice but I would never live back there. We do not like where we live now and are trying to move back to Grand Rapids, MI as soon as a job is available for DH. I miss the community, friends, food and just overall personality of people there so hopefully in the next couple years we move back.
@Louise_Belcher I just discovered Halos and have been eating them like crazy. Easy and healthy snack
@lilylover27 good luck on your glucose test!
@SWE2 Halos are yummy! And so easy to peel!

How big is baby? size of a cantaloupe
Any appointments this week? ultrasound on Thursday
Symptoms? reflux is still really bad. I'm also driving my husband crazy because I'm clearing my throat constantly as well. I thought it was because my nose is constantly running, but Dr. Google tells me that it may be due to the reflux. Has anyone else had this?
Cravings? same as @lilylover27 - it really varies hour by hour, but when I decide I want something I want it right away!
Rants/Raves/Questions? painting the nursery is taking longer than I had hoped, but I'm glad I'm making progress with something! I feel so useless not going to work.
GTKY: What are the things you love most about the place you grew up or the place you live now? I love that I live in a large enough city that I have access to awesome restaurants and activities, but we are also only an hour and a half from Banff and Kananaskis and all the amazing outdoor activities that are available there.
How far along?
26 weeks!
How big is baby?
The size of kale.
Any appointments?
Nope! 3 more weeks. Had glucose test last week and passed!!!! Yay!
Symptoms?
heartburn and back pain
cravings?
pretzel and cheese, chocolate, and pickles.
Rants/Raves/questions:
none!
GTKY:
I love that we live less then 10 mins from the beach, I also love that we have a lot of shopping near by

How far along are you? 25 weeks
How big is baby? The bump says the size of cauliflower and the Ovia app is buggy today...
Any appointments this week? Had a quick doppler check yesterday (strong HB in the 150s) and my glucose test which I PASSED! Whew!
Symptoms? Generally achy at the end of my shift, intermittent shortness of breath dependent on activity (climbing stairs, giving DS a bath), oh and fingers a bit plumper at times (see below)
Cravings? I seem to do fine when at home but as I head to or am at work, the junk food junkie comes out to play. Potato chips has always been my nemesis...
Rants/Raves/Questions? We've decided to buy a brand new home in a great location in between my work and our hometown (where our parents, my sister, and our friends still live). Because we're waiting for a specific lot to be released, the home won't be completed until after baby boy arrives... so all my hopes of setting up beforehand are gone. And hopefully I didn't just jinx this home buying process again
GTKY: What are the things you love most about the place you grew up or the place you live now? I love all of the great memories I have... I feel like I had a great childhood... although I couldn't wait to move away for college. I could never live there again, though, which is why we're making this great compromise of being close enough for family and friends but far enough to enjoy our privacy.

@lilylover27 good luck with your glucose test Saturday. Just had mine and man, that sugary drink keeps me on edge for awhile. If Sesamr Street had a Chip Monster, it'd look like me! I, too, can kill a bag in one sitting... and still want more! Lol.
@slowmo Glad your appetite is back... food poisoning is no joke. I'm also stuck in this double stroller debacle. We still use DS's stroller all the time because he does better staying in it when we go out to restaurants or shopping. I thought I was settled on a side-by-side but IRL, both MH and I were surprised at how monstrous they are. So, we think we're sticking to our current brand and getting the in line double stroller. I wish I would've thought ahead and invested in one that could convert too. (Side note: as we were looking at strollers last week, a FTM approached us and asked how we decided on our current stroller. I gave her the low down and then offered up that pearl of wisdom of thinking ahead and getting one now that could convert later. She got teary eyed and said she they had fertility issues and that thinking ahead was bad for her... but she was really nice about it and thankful for the info we gave her. Totally felt like a jerk anyways- as I should know better...)
@emilyalso Brava! But that is why I can't bring myself to bake more chocolate chip cookies... I'd have to call myself the "Chip & Cookie" Monster
@Louise_Belcher Good luck with your bloodwork and MFM appt. Boo to that lone stretch mark.
@SWE2 Can't wait to see your nursery picture. Don't know how you gave the patience to put up wallpaper... I'd go mad!
@CherryBananas good luck at your ultrasound on Thursday. I don't have experience with reflux but that doesn't sound fun at all. Hoping you get relief there soon.
@MrsFox2008 Congrats on passing your glucose test!!! I passed yesterday too!!!

@Louise_Belcher - I loooove our Maclaren Triumph umbrella stroller. No wonder all the doubles feel so huge in comparison!
Congrats to everyone who passes their glucose challenges! My practice doesn't do them until 28 weeks. Can't wait to get it over with!

It's sort of a moot point now since we'll be in need of a double soon, but I still lust after the Triumph when I see it.
How big is baby? Size of grapefruit
Any appointments this week? Nope
Symptoms? Heartburn and it seems to be getting worse.
Cravings? Mainly tacos, nachos, and burgers
Rants/Raves/Questions? None
GTKY: What are the things you love most about the place you grew up or the place you live now? Still thinking
@emilyalso - And why can't these baby superstores all have the same stuff??? It's ridiculous to have to go to all these different places.
