So he slept for 10 minutes and woke up screaming. I finally caved and called my wonderful MIL to come over. He wouldn't stop crying and refused to nurse or take a bottle and I couldn't take it anymore. She's rocking him to sleep right now. Of course the moment she takes him he's all smiles and takes a bottle no big deal. Guaranteed she has him asleep in 20 minutes. So freaking frustrating!
@MrsMaryK2016 whatever works at that point!!! But I hear you on the frustration front. Luckily I'm the one who gets Nick to stop crying if he is inconsolable for whatever reason.. usually. Sometimes it's the car (which I know you've already said your son hates).
Ok why do cats insist on cleaning themselves at night? And why, when I try to banish him does he sit just out of arm's reach but within ear shot to finish being an asshole? Sorry for language. I need something to throw but all I have is my phone and pillows and I want both.

Same issue! And when she finally clears the room it's to go back to sleeping in the exact spot I am.
@anne11716 Hi. I just wanted to add that my twins have a cloth helmet for their flat little heads, it's not so bad really. They adjusted to it quickly, although my daughter is good at shaking it off. They favor one side very much when they sleep. Also we have a physical therapist come out to see them every two weeks to work with them and show us where we need to work on next and all that. mine are usually all smiles till it tires them out . They won't be super fond of you making them move to work their muscles but it's better then them not getting use of them..
My leave replacement just just sent me an email mentioning that my classroom has a "persistent mouse and several cockroaches". I have two more weeks of leave and really did not need to be worried about that already. No sleep for me!

A big part of my job involves understanding the ACA and the impact it has on employers. They just released some preliminary info on possible changes which means I have to get up to speed ASAP before clients start asking. I still have a ton of stuff to catch up on from being out, I don't have time for all of this nonsense
@kvruns I could go on for days about the problems in my building. As I recall several, it reminds me why I wanted to stay out until the new school year.
The short version: the building has been standing since the 1800s and no one can keep up with the maintenance. We've had a mouse problem forever and the heat NEVER works. And apparently the cafeteria had cockroaches so they fumigated and it sent them running to a few rooms. But I would have rather discovered that upon returning than be thinking about it for the next few weeks.
Ugh. Also, tmi. Wtf to H who decided to drink tonight. Ok, he's still on leave, so that's fine I guess. So H drinks too much, but doesn't feel drunk, and then proceeds to vomit all over the white carpet in the basement. Ok cool, stuff happens. Then H tries to clean it up. After having trouble wiping it up, H decides to use the vacuum. Our less than a year old vacuum that is NOT a wet vacuum or shop vac. Then he gets mad when I tell him that was a terrible idea and that the vacuum is not supposed to be used for that. Oh, and now he's up here watching his tablet in bed with a giant bowl of popcorn while I'm trying to sleep, and now I'm on LO duty all night because he decided to drink. And H smells like puke. Thanks Hun.
@desoky01 that stinks! Literally. That would be my husband. If I told him he was cleaning up wrong he'd have a shit fit and tell me to do it.
Also wtf to my husband. If we are going to try and see if baby boy can soothe himself out of a 2am feed, you can get up and help! And if you've used the last wipe don't leave the empty container there so I'm stuck in the middle of a diaper change.
Edit: Also, stop being a drama queen because I asked you to get up and change him since he pooped as soon as I finished feeding him. I've been up with him all night. Just shut up and change him.
Went to the grocery for my weekly trip. Made a list, had coupons, and both kids. Bought everything and felt super successful when I got home only to realize the main dish for Friday was never purchased. I even had it on my list, saw it several times and for some reason thought I picked it up and put it in my cart when in fact I never did. Ugh, now I have to go back tomorrow. Probably with both kids in tow for just one item.
That stinks @camcbeth! But I am super impressed you were otherwise successful. So far I have left all the bags at the checkout after paying and once left my wallet.
I like grocery shopping with the car seat so inevitably something gets hidden and I have to check out again for that one item
I will admit I just take the hit. The other day upon folding up the stroller in the parking lot, a bottle of seltzer rolled out of it. From where? I have no idea but I wasn't going back in with two kids for a 69 cent bottle of seltzer.

I had a can of soup I found when I was unloading into the car. I had a moral dilemma but decided to go back in and pay for it. And of course it was the wrong damn kind of soup I'd grabbed anyway.
It's not Wednesday BUT I go back to work in a week and my leave replacement is being such a PIA. She hasn't fully grasped what she's supposed to be doing for the duration of her time but there's a week left, don't make it even more difficult for me. Please?
The car seat can be an issue And it's my fear that I will "steal" an item because I didn't see it.
@SandNStarsNJ I had a sub for maternity leave with my first and she just ran around with her head up her @$$. I sent her multiple detailed emails about things and passwords, and my grade level cohorts said she still couldn't figure things out. My kids who usually caused trouble came home with pockets full of candy according to one of the kiddo's moms. That mom thought her kid wasn't causing trouble anymore, but my principal had a different take. Lol!
I start work Monday and this is what my leave replacement just sent me:
"There has been some drama that I'd prefer not to put in writing. I think you should know about it before you return, and I think we should have a call...".
Riiiight because that's not vague enough to irritate me. What. The. F.

Ugh! Why even mention the drama in the email? Just say you want to meet to get you up to date! Jeez!
WTF update: I spoke with my replacement. Turns out three boys in one of my classes have been accused of and found guilty of sexual assault. The outcome is yet to be determined but it involved several other classmates' friend so no one will sit with or speak to any of them. And at the same time they won't sit with or speak to each other. There was also a major fight in another one of my class pertaining to race. So that's just fantastic. Looks like the two cockroaches and mouse are the least of my concerns on Monday!
I'm going to lose it. This kid is exhausted and yet he REFUSES TO SLEEP. We have been at this since 6 and I am so frustrated. I'm 90% sure this has nothing to do with his shots and everything to do with being way too tired. I have put him in the crib and walked away. I have no patience left for him today.
EDIT: Praise Jesus he's asleep. 6 minutes of CIO and he passed out.
It's not a WTF, but it redeems my student a little... I have a donorschose project posted right now and it turns out a few of my kids have been out collecting money for the past two weekends for it. They just donated the money!
