Re: Symptoms Thread 1/2/17

  • Baby was SUPER low last night and I was so uncomfortable. Ended up doing child's pose for 20 min to get her up higher!
  • Loading the player...
  • Since I can't drink, I basically rang in the new year with all the food. I ate way too much pizza and wings on nye, and then last night we went to Cheesecake Factory and I proceeded to eat my weight in food and cheesecake. Boy am I paying for it today. Nauseated, heartburn, so uncomfortable. I really haven't endulged like that this pregnancy and I have certainly learned my lesson!
  • Back and hip pain. Found in addition to all the pillows, rolling a towel and putting it at the small of my back helped a lot the past nights!
Nausea has returned, but usually only if I don't eat often enough.
+1 heartburn, but luckly so far it leaves me alone till bedtime and goes away with a tums or two.
BH often, especially every time my bladder gets too full
  • Back pain, heartburn, charlie horses, trouble sleeping...should I keep going?

  • My back pain is out of this world. For the most part is only hurts at certain times of the day, but lately it's gotten a lot worse. I was sleeping pretty good up until recently and now I've been having a bit more trouble. Not as much as I had with DD though so I guess I'll count my blessings.

  • Tons of BH and baby is sitting low so now I have the period type pressure and my hips are starting to ache. Driving to work is starting to suck and it takes me a while to hoist myself out of the driver seat, it must be pretty interesting to watch at this point
  • Been on bedrest for a while now due to high blood pressure but we still monitoring... Been here since the beginning but i couldnt participate when i had lots of complications coming my way, low lying placenta, high blood pressure. You name it...but am counting each day as it comes! Now am feeling connected to the world again and praying for a good end.

Am 35+6 now and heartburn, backaches and hip pain they are the winner. Still monitoring and controlling HBP and praying to reach full term. Baby is sitting low so i got pain n pressure there, when i walk and sit for sometime ooh i feel those pain so good lol! I also think LO is very tall that it still crush my ribs cause they hurt alot!
  • Heartburn like crazy, lower back pain, and lightening crotch. Oh yeah, I also sneezed today and peed myself a little.  :#

  • Also...today I just feel different. DH said my belly is even lower, and my belly button looks different. Yesterday it was pushed out like a full outie, and today it isn't. Plus I have some nausea, these mild period pressure pains down low that I didn't have before, and I can feel my hips spreading, so she must be even lower. But aside from that I just feel different, it is the weirdest thing. I'm tired as usual, but I have this calm relaxed feeling over my body. I told my Mom and she predicts I will go into labor in 3 weeks. I have no clue. I see the Dr Monday 1/09 and then have an ultrasound the week of 1/23.
  • @BlondePeanut morphing belly button here, too. I have even seen it move in and out, like she's in there jerking the umbilical cord just to be hilarious. Movement is NUTS lately, with lots of sudden punches, and elicits a lot of crazy sounds from me. DH is already on high alert, so I've told him that I'll make completely different sounds when I think I'm in labor.

  • So far no major changes from last week, only more movement. I have a really active little bean in there and he or she is rockin'  at all times of the day!
  • I've been so tired lately! I thought going to bed with my 4 year old at 8pm would help, but I wake up about 4-5 times a night needing a bathroom break. When I'm laying down and my bladder is even halfway full, I seem prone to BH that wake me up. So much for trying to get more sleep! :(

  • How should I know when the swelling in my hands/feet is bad enough to warrant preeclampsia concern and not just normal pregnancy swelling? I don't go back in until January 18, but my hands and feet have been so swollen the last three days. I've tried increasing water/elevating my legs/icing my hands, but nothing is reducing the swelling.

Could be worth a call into the office to chat with a nurse and see if they want to see you. When I had a bad bought of swelling last week--I went to a pharmacy down the road with a BP cuff to just confirm that it wasn't high, and that was enough that my midwife said she didn't need to see me till my regular appointment. ((I also was having no other Pre-E symptoms)

Agree with this - definitely worth a call to the doc or advice nurse, but I call the advice nurse about pretty much anything out of the ordinary. But if your BP is normal and you don't have any other symptoms (vision problems, chest pain, headaches, nausea, extreme fatigue, excessive, sudden weight gain - like 4-5lbs/week), then it's probably just normal swelling. Can you get to a pharmacy to take your BP? I'd do that, and call your doctor just for peace of mind.

  • I cannot breathe through my nose, at all.  I'm talking 100% blocked.  I've been using Afrin this weekend so i called the OB this morning to make sure they were cool with it, and they said no and called me in a prescription.  Its not covered by insurance and is going to cost me a million dollars.  I've tried Sudafed, Vicks, Nettipot, steam...everything.  Nothing works but Afrin.  Please someone, tell me there is a magic nasal spray out there that I am missing that is ok for me to take.
  • I feel so self-conscious because my face, neck, and chest are "broken out". I say broken out but it's not really acne, it's really bad red bumps especially on my chest. My face isn't so bad I guess but my chest looks gross and my clothes can't hide it. I've tried many things to try to get rid of the bumps for months but nothing works. :(

And after lunch today I got a dizzy spell. Plus all the other normal, annoying pregnancy stuff. Pity party for 1?

  • Insomnia, back pain, something all jammed up in my ribs making it hard to breath and I sometimes have to lean back so far when I'm sitting down. I'm sure I looked really weird at work when people walk by my office. Fortunately my current exhausted/grumpy face keeps them from commenting. I typically have RBF but this is a whole new level.
  • I didn't have any swelling prior to my c-section, but now my feet and legs are so swollen! Thank goodness for my Sperrys because no other shoe is containing these feet right now.
  • Ugh, dry skin. But it's in patches, on my arms and fingers only. it's driving me crazy!

    Also, gas. Whoooo boy.
  • Thanks @kjd291 and @madamerwin - I hadn't even thought about the BP cuff at a local pharmacy. I appreciate it!
  • My hips and lower back are pretty sore at this point. I Ice that and my sciatic nerve pretty frequently. And also I've felt sick to my stomach a few times like morning sickness. Probably because there is no room up there. and I lose my breath frequently.

The heartburn. There aren't even enough tums in this world to help. This girl better come out with a head full of luscious hair. Lol

  • @FerForShort I hear that Afrin is addictive so you may just have to ride it out.  Ask your dr what decongestants you can take to help or if they can give you some free samples even better!  I suffer horrific allergies and feel for you.

My new symptom.... hot flashes yay.
  • @LivingLaVidaGinger do you go from 0 to RAVENOUS in the blink of an eye? That's my latest. And oh, the sciatica! I've started stretching and having H massage my butt with a tennis ball and I think it's helping.
  • The past few days I've had lower back pain that is just getting worse. First it was on my right but it moved to the left right above my butt and man it hurts. Made it tough to sleep last night because I could feel it with every movement I made.

  • As far as swelling goes, does anyone else have one foot/leg/hand or whatever swell up considerably more than the other? My left ankle/foot is always WAY worse than the right. I haven't had any BP issues (shockingly) so it's more just that I think it's really weird than that I'm worried about it.

Yes, my left foot swells a lot more than my right and I'm not sure why.  Thankfully my BP has actually been low so I haven't really worried about it.

  • @CurlyCupcake21, thanks. I was hoping I wasn't the only one this happens to, it looks so weird. I guess as long as the BP is fine who cares right?
  • @Jab3 it wouldn't hurt to mention it to your doc... It's probably not anything to worry about, but there are other things that can cause swelling (especially uneven swelling) besides BP issues. Then again, I call the advice nurse for everything, but I figure it doesn't hurt to check!

  • Im pretty sure this is exactly what I've been dealing with, and it sucks so bad! I'm going to have to try the suggested exercises to ease it up!

  • Baby has definitely dropped. I went from having to pee maybe once a night to twice Monday night and 3 times last night. Plus being woken up by heartburn last night and having to sleep almost sitting up after taking tums. I felt weird all night last night.

  • @MommaBean yes and yes! I'll be completely fine one minute, and the next I'm relatively certain I'm dying of starvation and need immediate food lol

  • Pretty positive baby is head down now. She really prefers my left side and sticking her butt or extremities out the side when she's not crowding my ribs
  • The exhaustion is so bad. But I can't sleep. Wahh

Thank you for sharing this! This sounds like what I've been dealing with and I'm gonna try the exercises tonight. It's been horrible when I'm laying down for long periods of time or at night so hopefully this helps.
