I have an appointment with the foot doctor tomorrow to see how long I need to be on crutches, and on Thursday I have a regular OB with a brief ultrasound to capture some pictures they missed at my anatomy scan. I'm guessing I'll also probably be scheduling my glucose test soon.
Last "every 4 weeks" OB appointment tmrw. I definitely plan to ask her about a weird rash I seem to have gotten, it's almost like hives but not raised at all.
I had my monthly appointment today. 24 weeks. I did the glucose test and passed with flying colors... so hooray! The orange drink was, dare I say, refreshing. Also my antibody test came back negative. I am a negative blood type, so it is always a little bit of a worry. I get the rhogam shot at my next appointment in 4 weeks. Such a big shot. My belly is measuring 26 weeks. But, baby girl was measuring at about 40th percentile at the ultrasound on Thursday, so basically, I just get a big belly. Good for me. I had a larger than normal measuring belly with DD1 too.

@wagnerw My blood type is A- and DH is O+, which means that our babies could be positive. Normally during pregnancy the baby's blood and mother's blood don't mix. But, in the case of a miscarriage or during birth the blood could get mixed. Basically any time the baby might bleed a little there is a chance. If positive blood gets mixed with my negative blood my body will make antibodies to attack any future positive blood. So, it is mostly a precaution for future pregnancies. If my body makes antibodies it could attack a future baby in my body. The shot is a blood product that stops my body from attacking positive blood. So, with my pregnancies I get one shot around 28 weeks and another shot the day after the baby is born, unless they test the baby's blood and it is also a negative type. The shot has a freaking big ass needle though which kind of sucks.

@mrsstuessy wow! My grandmother had the same issue when pregnant with my mom. I don't remember what the options were back in the 60s but it was a big deal then too. I'm glad you've got the shot option even though it doesn't sound fun at all.
@mrsstuessy I have to get the rhogam too. I had it after my loss in July, and now have to do it at my 28 week appt on Jan 12. Do they do yours in your butt? I've been told that helps a lot! And to massage the area after the injection for a little while. The dumbest part is I am O- and my husband is A-, but they say they would rather just have me get the shot than try to prove DH blood type even though it's a military hospital and his blood type is on file. I think they are worried there could always be a chance it's someone else's baby haha. Thanks, military. Bleh for extra injections.
@BabyBlake.04.2017 yes actually! I am off crutches as of yesterday and in a tall boot instead. Tall because I'm pregnant and they're more stable, but otherwise it would be a short boot. Oh my word so much better than crutches. I can also drive without the boot on but it really hurt since it's my pedal foot. But it's better than DH having to get me to work. Thanks for asking. I'll be healing for 3-5 more weeks but I may not need to be in the boot the whole time. Either way I'm so glad I won't be on crutches anymore.
Yes, I am so grateful that they have come up with something for this problem. Hooray for science! It is definitely worth it. @BabyBlake.04.2017 DH wasn't sure of his blood type when I was pregnant with DD so he went to donate blood, because they will tell you if you ask what your blood type is. Selfish reason for donating, but still donating all the same I guess. I mean, the shot is harmless (other than some pain) so it doesn't hurt to get it. But, they can't actually force you to get it, can they? I would just say no if there is no point. They put it in my arm last time, but I have heard that the butt is less painful. I was just telling DH that this time I am totally dropping my pants and getting the shot in the butt.
@cafedisco Yep. She had a growth spurt. She was measuring about the 15th percentile at 20 weeks and at almost 23.5 weeks was measuring about 40 percentile. They only thing still on the smaller side was her head. It was around the 20th percentile. So, small but still at a healthy size. As of now they won't be doing any further monitoring. But, they did mention that they might want to do one more ultrasound towards the end (around 35 weeks). But, really it is up to me and my midwives if we decide to do that. We probably won't, honestly. I'm not worried anymore.

Appointment went well today! Instead of just the two ultrasound shots they'd missed at the anatomy scan, they looked at just about everything again which was really cool. It was also cool to see what was moving when I was feeling certain things so it was confirmed for me what's little kicks and what's headbutting. Haha. It was awesome.
Everything else looked good too--baby is measuring just right and my uterus is also, despite that my bump looks small. Her heartbeat was much faster than last time but still in normal range so even though I didn't think I'd had much sugar maybe I'd had more than I thought.
Next time is glucose test and I got my orange drink. I'm not excited about having to drink it at work and then driving to the doc but it's the time they had available.
Finally, doc said if everything looks good next time at 28 weeks then he may just have me do another month and start every two weeks after 32. Which is fine but unexpected.
@mrsstuessy YAYAYAY! For a growth spurt!! You are giving me hope and I'm SO happy for you and your LO!
