  • How far along are you? 20W

    How big is baby?  Banana

Appointments this week? Just had my monthly appointment and A/S this last Tuesday

    Symptoms? nothing new here.

Rant/Rave/Questions? I am simply not a big fan of my MFM. I didn't know what it was the first time I met him, but after Tuesday's appointment, I realized that his tone is condescending. He provides the correct information and I really like everyone else at his office, so there is no point in me looking for a new one. I am just not a big fan of his personality.

GTKY: Things about you as a kid! What was your favorite show(s)? Subject in school? Type of toys you played with? And anything random that comes to mind! I totally wanted to be a fashion designer when I was a little kid. I even made clothes for different size dolls and barbies and sold them to the neighborhood kids. I loved Gem and the Holograms! I was so happy that my uncle gave me a Clash doll one year for Christmas. I thought it meant a lit that he realized how much I loved the show. a few years ago my mom said "You think he knew? I bet his girlfriend at the time went and bought it because it was in style." I still think he just paid attention and new I would love it.

How big is baby? And if you know, what is the sex? Pomegranite, girl

    Appointments this week? Nope

Symptoms? Mostly aches and pains right now. Hips are quite sore today. I'm looking forward to getting my pregnancy pillow for xmas. Also pretty positive I've been feeling the baby kick!

Rant/Rave/Questions? Kind of a rant? I just don't even want to work right now. I feel like I've done a good job as manager of enabling people to figure things out themselves, so I barely feel needed. Which makes it easier for me to work less. Which just makes me want to be done.

GTKY: Things about you as a kid! What was your favorite show(s)? Subject in school? Type of toys you played with? And anything random that comes to mind! I didn't watch a lot of tv, tbh. We didn't even have cable until I was in high school. I did love anything animal-related, though. There was that one show like power rangers, except they changed into animals? Also loved playing with littlest pet shop and building mazes for my pet rats.

How big is baby? And if you know, what is the sex? Pomegranate- find out Jan. 3

Appointments this week? None and Winter Break starts from school- I plan on not getting out of my PJ's for a majority of the week.

Symptoms? Energy is starting to come back- I have still been moody. Also- I have started throwing up from coughing....not from coughing hard or coughing tons. It is so random and obnoxious!

Rant/Rave/Questions? DH put ship lap on our fireplace wall and is creating a mantel out of 100 yo wood beams this weekend! I am so excited to have it done by Christmas! I plan on giving into a bit more sexy time for his hard efforts!

GTKY: Things about you as a kid! What was your favorite show(s)? Subject in school? Type of toys you played with? And anything random that comes to mind! I was a complete teachers pet/ suck u and now a school principal- surprise! surprise! Honestly after working in education for over a decade I swear if I could go back to school now it would NOT be for education. I was a typical girly girly and loved dress-up and barbies. I also have been searching for some old school toys to give my daughters for Christmas- I am shocked at home expensive Light Bright and the game Pretty, Pretty Princess is on Ebay!

How big is baby? And if you know, what is the sex? The size of an artichoke. TBA

Appointments this week? A week from today is my anatomy scan! I'm super nervous and excited all wrapped up together.

Symptoms? Still pretty tired on and off.

Rant/Rave/Questions? None at the moment! Things are progressing wonderfully in life. What's on my mind most right now is that I really hope DD falls asleep early enough for her nap next Thursday so she can be rested enough to come along to the A/S. Otherwise DH may just stay home with her and I'll go solo. I think it would be fun to go as a family plus have their support.

GTKY: Things about you as a kid! What was your favorite show(s)? Subject in school? Type of toys you played with? And anything random that comes to mind! I wanted to be a vet and loved animals especially dogs. I would play with toy animals over dolls like Pound Puppies, My Little Pony, and some others that I can't recall the name of. I wouldn't mind terribly to become a vet technician even now, which is an idea since I have absolutely no idea what I want to do once the kids are older and I'm done being a full time SAHM. As for school I suppose I excelled best in math and art but did terribly in history and meh in English. Maybe it's a left side right side of the brain kind of thing, how I process information.

@starphish18 I think we would have gotten along fantastically growing up together with our love for animals! I had pet rats in middle and high school, and college!  I even did a science fair project where I got to build mazes for the rats.

    We are team green!

    Appointments this week?
Just had one today. Nothing to report about, except that it took forever to find the heartbeat, again. Different midwives keep saying, "the baby is in the back." Going along with the fact that I don't have a lot of movement, I'm pretty sure I have another anterior placenta.

    Symptoms?
Just my usual SPD, but it's not crazy. I'm trying to work out more.

    Rant/Rave/Questions?
Nothing today. By next week's check-in I'll have had my anatomy scan.

GTKY: Things about you as a kid! What was your favorite show(s)? Subject in school? Type of toys you played with? And anything random that comes to mind!

    This is fun!
As a kid I loved Nickelodeon and Nick at Night. As a little kid I watched Looney Tunes. The simpsons started up while I was a kid and I have been hooked ever since. I was a little bit on the older side for those great Nickelodeon shows that everyone has nostalgia about (like "Salute your shorts," "Clarissa explains it all," "guts," etc) but I did watch them. I was a bit on the younger side for Beverly Hills 90210 when it first came out, but I watched it as well. Also a bit on the younger side for My So Called Life but did watch that.

In school I loved science. I still do -- it's my career! History and English were my least favorite. Now I think everyone needs to know history really well, because I'm a bit political and I can see the problems of not being educated and I fear we might be heading into "history repeats itself" situations, in a bad way.

My favorite toy of all time was playmobils. We still have my stash and we're giving them to my kids a bit at a time for Christmas/birthdays. I was NOT into dolls or girly things in general. I liked legos but hardly had any. I generally liked toys with construction/building/engineering and vehicles, but didn't have that many of them, as the youngest of three girls.

Pomegranate or onion, we are team green!

    Appointments this week?
    Not until after Christmas

    Symptoms?
Nothing new to report. I think I have been feeling some flutters and they're usually in the same spot. Do you ladies feel kicks and flutters in different places or the same place? I might just be experiencing indigestion.

    Rant/Rave/Questions?
We are so close to moving into our house! I'd say we have about half our stuff moved. Every day this week, H and I load up our cars and make a trip out to our house. It's nice to see our current place getting emptier. We have family coming with a trailer on Saturday and we will be able to move everything that's left that day. The only thing I am not looking forward to is cleaning our current place before we check out and leave for good.

I liked Recess and Scooby Doo! We didn't have cable growing up so I only got to watch Saturday morning cartoons. I liked history and social studies in school, and lunch :) I played with Barbies, but I also loved to build things. I had many sets of Dominos (for setting up and knocking down), legos, k'nex, and Lincoln logs. I've been saving all those toys for when my kids can play with them. I also loved riding my bike and being outside, especially reading outside. I would bike to our town library 2-3 times a week and check out 3-4 books at a time.
  • @luckywife10 yay you're in the home stretch! We don't close for another month and I'm just anxious for the month to fly by so we can start! As for movements, I feel them in the same general area most of the time. If you're just starting to think you feel them, they will become stronger all of a sudden in the next week! It went from flutters to little jabs after I passed 17 weeks =)

  • @pshaortao I agree! I was reading your gtky and thought "that's me". I did a science fair project with training my dogs.

How big is baby? And if you know, what is the sex? Mango and we're having another girl! :)

Appointments this week? I had my second trimester scan today and everything looked great! She is measuring right on target. I found out that I have an anterior placenta this time and so they warned me that I may not feel as much movement for a few more weeks. I do feel some at night before bed if I'm very still and quiet, but nothing at all during the day time.

Symptoms? Feeling much better lately! I've weaned down to just the 2 Diclegis at bedtime this week and am *hoping* that I can come completely off of these in another week or so. I've been much more energetic during the day lately but am still ready for bed by like 9:30 pm.

    Rant/Rave/Questions?

GTKY: Things about you as a kid! What was your favorite show(s)? Subject in school? Type of toys you played with? And anything random that comes to mind! Hm.... my favorite show was Saved by the Bell, maybe? My favorite subjects have always been science-related. I don't remember which toys were my favorite but I always loved dancing in my room to the radio and playing my keyboard when I was really young (later on it was the clarinet and piano).

  • Hi, ladies! I'm a little late posting in our weekly thread. I'm probably going to be MIA for a while, and I wanted to send a quick explanation as to why. I didn't want to post an individual thread about this, because I didn't want it to seem as though I was looking for a bunch of attention, but I did want to explain why I'm going to ghost everyone.

On Tuesday I went in for the anatomy scan, and got to see our little lady which was so much fun. After the ultrasound, I was told my doctor was running behind schedule and given the option to wait to meet with him or come back in about an hour. I decided I was going to leave and come back, but before I'd been gone for too long, I got a call asking me to come back. My doctor told me that our little girl is showing some pretty serious signs of spina bifida. Her skull is shaped like a lemon, she is extremely small and her head is extremely much smaller on the growth scale than the rest of her. I'm being referred out to high risk specialists, who's schedules of course are jam packed because of the holidays. I'm not sure when we will be able to get into see someone, or when we will have answers. In the meantime, though, I think I'm going to take a little break from TB. My heart hurts thinking about all of the worst case scenarios, and my anxiety is getting the best of me. I'm just not sure I'm up to participating on the boards right now.

I really hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season, and that you all continue to have wonderfully expanding bellies of healthy babies!! Hope to be back soon.

  • I'm 20wks and my baby GIRL is the size of a banana! My next appt isn't until Jan. 3. I feel her move more than I did last week, but still wish it was more!

Me as a kid...loved Disney movies...Doug, Recess, Arthur, Rugrats, Hey Arnold were my favorite tv shows. I loved to play house or school with Barbies & my stuffed animals. And playing with my real dog, of course! Also liked riding my bike & jumping on my trampoline. I loved reading the Little House series, Baby-Sitters Club, Sweet Valley Twins, & Saddle Club. (Younger--I loved to read Clifford, Little Critter, & Berenstein Bears.)
  • @ChristinaWild I am so sorry you're going through this! Love and many prayers for you & your little girl.
