Re: UO Thursday 12.15.16

  • @virginiaunicorn11 @oheliza44 HAHA we actually honeymooned there! But definitely aren't fanatics. Neither of us had been before (not even in childhood) so it was the perfect opportunity to go. It wasn't "romantic" being around kids and families all day, but we loved the excitement of it all, just with it being our first time there.

  • i didnt know honeymooning at Disney world was a thing until a couple we knew announced it at their wedding - and then they got divorced 6 months later. I know I know, it's just them, but I'll now never be able to take a Disneyland honeymoon seriously!
  • So does this become an FFFC?  We honeymooned at Disney.  We got married in October and originally planned to wait until the summer for our honeymoon, but I got pregnant almost instantly and so we planned a last-minute honeymoon for January.  We found an awesome cruise deal, but since neither of us had ever been on a cruise we decided to tack on a few days at Disney in case we hated the cruise.  We stayed at Shades of Green (awesome) and spent the bulk of our time at Epcot.  Turns out the cruise was also amazing, so we had a blast the whole time.

I think people that buy dogs (and cats) from breeders or pet shops are irresponsible and don't get me started on people the purposefully breed their pets. I have been involved in shelter and rescue work since I was 14 and seeing the amount of dogs and cats that need homes that we can't save or help breaks my heart on a daily basis including putting pregnant animals to sleep. There are rescues dedicated to pure bred dogs and every type of breed/mix imaginable, there are all types of dogs from puppies to seniors and hypoallergenic. I have yet to find an excuse to why anyone would go to a breeder or pet shop (where most dogs come from worse conditions than a shelter) over rescuing/adopting.
@Dcwtada - I agree with you. DH & I have cats and all except one are rescues / from a shelter. The one that isn't is from a breeder. She ran into some $$ and health issues and had 1 Bengal left and if we didn't take it, it would have been put outside :( She also didn't charge us either so that was cool. I still talk to her and she hasn't started breeding again. Also, our cats are spayed / neutered.

@Dcwtada Yes! Sil got a boy shitzu and her and her husband wanted to stud it out. Her husband more wanted to than her. So Mil and I babysat him one week while her husband was sick and in the hospital and talked sil into letting us get him neutered.  Yes we took advantage of the situation but I am not even sorry.
@morgarita - I would have done the same. Also, our cats are spayed / neutered.

  • @ashaw512 chill out girl. It's a little early to be getting on people's bad side. I don't think you want to be the one to start the banning in this group  :#

as for the Disney thing, me and hubby plan on going to Disney for a "temporary" honeymoon since we're military and have no time for anything. Plus it's convenient for us since my uncle works there and can get us in for free ;)  husband has never been and I think it's so much more enjoyable without dragging kids around. We love amusement parks though and would just treat it as one. Aka eating the overpriced food and going on rides. I think it's super creepy when a fully mentally sound adult meets characters and goes crazy.

Lady Gagas recent work with Tony Bennet and her new album are incredible!  I used to think she invested her talent stupidly until I started to understand her as an artist - her early work is performance art.  Her original goal was to be an actress.  When you realize this she's kind of a genius.... it wouldn't be the case if she was just being shocking for the shock value and didn't have the writing/vocal chops to back it up :cough: Madonna :cough: (count that as my UO for the week) .... but she SO does.

edit: this was supposed to be a reply to the Gaga post but my stupid phone. Sorry!
  • we honeymooned in Disney, we did very little Magic kingdom.  We spent most of our time walking around Epcot, and :ahem: hanging out in the hotel room and pool.  It's actually a really romantic place if you go with that intention.
