  • @oheliza44 You're definitely not alone in that one. I've never been to Disney (lots of siblings and not a lot of money made it pretty much impossible) and I have NO desire to ever go. Hopefully we can skip it once kiddos are in the picture. Except maybe the Harry Potter stuff...

I'll have to come back with my own UO when I think of one!

  • @OperaSingerMommy I enjoy that fun nonesense too! My friends and I do it with each other to figure out what we're having. My favorite is the Chinese gender predictor that takes in the mothers lunar age and time of conception! I mean how random is that, but oh so fun! It's been right for both of my boys so far and right about all my friends who did it. But you have to use a website that lets you enter your bday because finding your true lunar age is hard and it's different than your actual age so many women think it's wrong because they're not using the right lunar age. Science! Lol
  • So, none of these are UOs, ladies! @OperaSingerMommy , I've been staring at my first dating u/s and looking at Ramze theory pictures online. Based on that, I'm having a girl. and I read all about how ridiculous this Ramze theory is, but I just can't help it.

  • @Dcwtada Yes! Sil got a boy shitzu and her and her husband wanted to stud it out. Her husband more wanted to than her. So Mil and I babysat him one week while her husband was sick and in the hospital and talked sil into letting us get him neutered.  Yes we took advantage of the situation but I am not even sorry.

I don't understand the Jesus Rockstar churches!  Our son's nanny keeps inviting us to stuff and this year her daughters were again in the xmas show and I just felt I had to go.  It was louder than the Kanye West concert we went to last year.  Why!?!?!?!

If you're not a Jesus Freak you won't understand and don't be scared to decline. And to answer your question, Kanye doesn't compare to Jesus in any sort of way. Jesus is King, and that's how a Jesus worshiping concert should be. It should be ten thousand times louder than a Kanye concert.
  • My UO is that I can't stand Pink (the singer) or Lady Gaga.  Their music/voices are awful.  There.  I said it.

  • @morgarita you are a woman after my own heart.

And as for Kanye, I am pretty sure he is King...in his own mind anyway.
  • @Xath whatever floats your boat.
  • @Xath was actually lol-ing at that.
TTC: 1/2014 BFP: 9/24 EDD: 6/8/2015 Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.
  • @ashaw512  I am in no way a Jesus freak (is that a thing?), but for some reason I find reverence a bit more quiet.  I can't be still within myself in that sort of chaos so I just don't get the appeal.  I know many who do hence the UO.  Fwiw, my husband actually used to go to the same church years before he met me - so he's a fan too.

    @Xath lol!
  • @TRobinetteter Lady Gaga is truly talented, but I think she's made poor choices in what she chooses to invest those talents into. She is a classically trained pianist and can sing beautifully, although neither are ever displayed in her songs, at least the ones that are most popular. I don't like her music and to be honest I haven't heard many of her songs other than what's on the radio, but I heard her do a medley of songs on SNL with just herself and a piano and I was blown away!!! I am a musician so I really appreciate her artistry and I'm sad it seems to be going to waste.

Thats my two-cents. I do agree with you on Pink though

She very well may be, but I haven't listened to anything but the popular songs, because I can't stand them.  I've never seen/heard her play piano, so I can't speak to that!

Question, @ashaw512 is your response meant to be snarky? I can't tell here.

Honestly, no. I don't think anyone can compare Kanye to Jesus. I get it if you're not religious and I don't care, religion is a very touchy subject for a lot of people. But even a non religios person should know better than to put the two together in comparison, even if it is just music. And seriously never go to church or religious function you don't want to go to, it's not going to be fun for you and your basically going to turn around and bitch about feeling obligated to go. It doesn't matter who is inviting you.
  • I feel like anything that references Kanye is clearly meant to be taken in a lighthearted way. Because, well, it's Kanye!
    I second this.
  • Also it kinda does matter who invites you to church. I might hate church but when my Grandma asks me to be there, I'm going to be there with that hymnal on my lap like nobody's business. Sometimes you just have to go to things out of kindness to others.

But right there where you said you felt like you had to go, you felt obligated or does that not mean the same thing? And I haven't lost it. If and when I lose my shit, you'll know it, but like I said even if it is just music, you did compare the two. I wasn't being mean, just stating MY OPINION. As far as the "showing" thread, I was being an ass and I apologized, but there again. I also didn't "lose it."

Choosing between your  grandmother and nanny are different. I'd never turn down my grandmother, but I could turn down my nanny. Even if her girls were in the program or not.
  • @TRobinetteter Please watch this video (or some of it), and I think you will change your mind on Lady Gaga.  I do agree with you on the music she puts out, but she has some pipes!!  (Skip forward to 3:20)

Oh yes, please continue to tell me the intention of my post.  And yes also please tell me the nature of my relationship with my son's nanny.

    I apparently need the enlightenment.

    I'm bored.

@caribbeanmama I don't recall ever telling you the intention of your post. You asked why, and I'm sure you didn't mean for anyone to actually answer your question as to why the music was louder, but I did. I told you my opinion on your comment UO or not. I've never said anything about YOUR relationship to anyone. But I did say it didn't matter who invited you, I wasn't thinking about a family standpoint as much as the nanny standpoint. For me, if my nanny  invited me to a church/festival/concert (religious or not,) if I didn't want to go I'd say so. I was never snarky, never mean, never mad, just stated my opinion to your question.

I bet you're fun at parties...

  • Disney adults - my (U?)O: you went too soft on them. I also think it's weird if you honeymooned there, you go on the cruises without a kid, or your living room is full of the paraphernalia
Definitely put honeymooners in the group that creeps me out. My family took my nephew to Disney before my niece arrived- he was four. We ate at this dinosaurs restaurant that was the most over-sensitizing experience of my life. Kids were running everywhere and yet there were all these honeymooners there having couple time among screaming, jacked-up-on-sugar munchkins (basically my idea of hell).
