Sorry it really does suck. With my first I though oh cool I'm at 38 weeks gained 50lbs and not a stretch mark in sight. Then at birth I was plastered with them. Still am 4 years later. It's definitely genetic. My mom and sister both got them. Thankfully I've been told after 3-4 years of not having babies they should start to fade.
@mamatowildones I agree with that. My daughter had just turned three and a lot of mine especially on my belly were starting to be unnoticeable. unless you ran your hand along my skin. Now at 20 weeks i'm starting to see pink and purple again ... oh well the end is totally worth it!
I'm in the lucky club that has a belly full of stretch marks from a previous pregnancy. My only advice is that if you are in the even luckier club that experiences bad pain to make sure you stay lotioned/oiled up and get a pregnancy support band.
Nothing you can do... On baby #4 here... You'd think all this loose, droopy, stetch marked skin couldn't get anymore stretch marks.... Wrong... I get more everytime... All over the front on my belly and my underboob..
Echoing the ladies above, not much you can do about it, sadly. I use bio oil and did with my first pregnancy--hard to tell if it helped, as I still got stretch marks, but it smells good and keeps the skin from feeling super stretched. They were super noticeable after my son was born and I jokingly called them my "Sullivan stripes" (his name). The started to fade after about a year, but seem to be re-appearing now. I've decided to be ok with it because I can't really prevent it!
This made me laugh out loud- if you just now got them be happy! I swear to god the minute the second line showed up my hips broke out in stretch marks. Mine all went away after delivering my last- fingers crossed that happens again. Tiger stripes for now though!
I think it's all genetic, I don't have a single stretch mark on my body, but I did get the linea nigera (dark line) at the mid point of my pregnancy with DD that took about 3, maybe 4 months to fade into a less dark tone. I just say stay moisturized for your own comfort because dry skin is awful at all times. As far as stretch marks, if you get them, you get them and if you don't, well you don't. It is what it is.
The boob stretch marks started several weeks ago but they're not terrible. Now I'm waiting on the belly. I was 5'2 and 110ish lbs before getting pregnant, but I've had stretch marks on my hips, legs, and thighs since puberty. C'est la vie.
@pshaortao lol! Speaking of that there is some type of warning on the box to not use it on clothes while wearing and I totally ignored that in an art class in college trying to get clay out of a white shirt and didn't realize til after I had rubbed a good layer of my skin off with it and had a lovely hickey looking burn on my chest for a couple weeks...
@erinh2005 ouch! I have never rubbed a magic eraser on my skin before but that sounds pretty awful. I hope it at least got the clay out after all that effort!
@maximowiebe Did you join the bump to talk to people about stretch marks? Gross.
Isn't there a waiting period to post.... so she seriously joined, waited her three days, then made an effort to come back and push her weird cellulite cup....

The worst part is that she waited the 3 days so she could resurrect a thread from December.

No no. The worst part is that this is our second zombie thread this weekend and the bump still hasn't fixed their glitch not allowing mobile bumpers to post memes and gifs!!! Im dying over here!

Yeah, unfortunately there's not much you can do. I have some new ones on my thighs, I don't see any on my belly YET. I'm sure I will post baby as some of you have mentioned.

Hi. I was just trying to help MommyTyler. With the genuine intention of helping her, I suggested her about this cup.
QFP. @maximowiebe: Intention of helping aside, the point everyone's trying to make is that there's an acceptable way to introduce yourself and get/receive advice on these boards. It's not cool to resurrect a dead thread from 4 months ago; esp. when it looks like your intention is to hawk a product.
Right..... If you haven't even noticed, apparently coming here to just advertise was apparently against TOU violation since your post got removed. And as it has been mentioned already, this thread was buried deep from back in December. You could have jumped in, said hi and brought up stretch marks in a much more subtle way, rather than resurrecting this one and not participating in anything else, but you didn't. So I still think you only had one goal here. You'd have to prove us otherwise, which I think will be difficult. Good luck.
@BeachMommy2B I stared at that wayyyy too long trying to figure out what body part that is?! I'm assuming a thigh? But what is that bite mark looking part on one end
@erinh2005@Yiggle09 LOL i didn't even realize it was hard to see what she was looking at. it just makes me laugh because even though no one likes stretch marks that show/family/etc is so over dramatic about everything!
But see if you would have even lurked at all, you would have seen that we have NO IDEA who mommytyler even is because she hasn't been around since she made this thread to begin with...
So, no.

I thought it was weird that an old post from December was back. I assumed more stretch marks were appearing and no one wanted to start a fresh thread. I have stretch marks from puberty, but none from pregnancy yet. My belly is itchy a lot though. I'm not trying the miracle cream that was suggested. My lotion and coconut oil do just fine.
@MollyandD my brother has stretch marks up his whole spine from growing so fast and I have them on the sides of my knees and hips from basic training I gained so much muscle so fast. I understand the puberty marks !

I have them on my thighs, butt, hips, and boobs. It's not from muscle, though. It's from Cheetos. I was never that big, but I grew so fast in a short time.
