Just tired and nosebleeds that won't stop. I had bad headaches with my first and terrible nausea/food aversions with my second. Symptoms are so mild.

My house is a mess! We are so busy that we haven't been able to pick up or organize. This too shall pass... 

What is one thing you want/need for this baby that you didn’t have/need with previous children?

I want to buy a nice new swing and breast pump. The ones I had were worn out from my first two so I want to get a new one of each. 

Any moms here struggle with keeping up their supply wanna recommend a good strong pump. I used the models pump in style and it wasn't strong enough.  

GTKY: what was the most memorable gift you ever received? I share a birthday with my aunt. She was fighting breast cancer and I went down south to visit for a week. Our last night was our birthday so we had a party. She surprised me with an autographed book from my favorite author. A year later she passed away, so that time together was very special.

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies? So far only heartburn, that's why I took a test. Last time I had heartburn I got my BFP for DD #1

 Rant/Rave/Questions? I really want to hold out to tell DH for our Anniversary or as a Christmas surprise but I know I won't be able to wait that long.. lol

GTKY: what was the most memorable gift you ever received? My aunt flew me and DD1 home from Guam for my birthday using her frequent flyer miles and my family finally got to meet DD, she was 6 months old. I cried like baby.

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies? sore boobs, I was really sick with my first, but hoping not this time.  If so, bring on the Diclegis 

 

Rant/Rave/Questions? I have a knee injury and will possibly need surgery for a torn ligament.  I had an MRI yesterday and will follow up with my orthopedic surgeon next Tuesday to see which ligament tore.

 

What is one thing you want/need for this baby that you didn’t have/need with previous children? I really can't think of anything. I'm super excited that I don't have to go back to work after this one.  

 

GTKY: what was the most memorable gift you ever received? DH got me a Kindle the first Christmas we were together and when I broke it packing to move in with him a few years later, he got me another one.  I'm a book worm, but rarely buy myself gadgets so I was shocked.

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies? Pretty mild so far. I get hangry and mildly nauseous if I haven't eaten in a while. I'm not sleeping well and have felt a bit more tired than usual.

 Rant/Rave/Questions? DH is on work travel so I'm home alone with the kids. We have SS 50% of the time and he is so difficult and high maintenance sometimes. He was a terror last night and this morning, and DD is his little shadow so she was a pain as well. I was so relieved to send them both off to school this morning!!

 

What is one thing you want/need for this baby that you didn’t have/need with previous children? A supportive husband! Seriously.

 

GTKY: what was the most memorable gift you ever received? I met DH in person (originally on Match) 5 days before my birthday. He was going out of town that weekend, so he asked me if I could go to work late so we could get a pancake breakfast together. When we met up, I could see he was holding something, and I was afraid it was going to be some elaborate/expensive gift that revealed his true crazy side. Instead, he had made lists for me - I was new to the area - like "best places to run" and "top 5 restaurants" and they made references to jokes/stories we had already shared. I was stunned at how thoughtful and personal the gift was and it made me realize how special he is and how much he liked me (and I liked him).

How many kids do you have? 1 DD she'll  be 2.5 this month

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies? Diarrhea every day since two days before my BFP.  I get fatigued but also get crazy bursts of energy.  Craved Mexican the week of my BFP (I normally don't crave foods much).  With DD I craved hamburgers before my BFP.  So craving beef is a common theme.  With DD I had sore/enlarged boobs as my second symptom but haven't noticed that yet.

Rant/Rave/Questions? DD's still not adjusting to her sleep schedule before DST and thus, I'm getting less sleep than desired.  Add in her second half of two year molars coming in and let's just say, it's been fun.

What is one thing you want/need for this baby that you didn’t have/need with previous children? Double stroller.  I found an awesome deal on a Baby Jogger City Select Double for $420 instead of $700 this weekend so we bought it.  I think that deal is still going on so let me know if you're interested and I'll get you the info.

GTKY: what was the most memorable gift you ever received? I don't know if this can count as for "me" but when DD was born, my mom made a baby quilt that totally matches the nursery. She's never personalized the baby quilts like that for her other grandchildren. I really appreciated it and cried when she gave it to us in the hospital.

I have one son who is 5 years old.  He will be 6 by the time Sweet Pea is born.

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies?

 So far I am just nauseous off and on, sore boobs, and food aversions.  With my first pregnancy I couldn't even get a positive test before I missed my period and I had no symptoms at all during week 4/5.  The morning sickness hit week 6 and the tiredness.  This pregnancy I am having symptoms way sooner.  However, some days I don't even feel pregnant at all then others the symptoms are back.

 Rant-Having to wait until Dec 27th for my first appt.  They will be doing a vaginal ultrasound and then I go back the next week to get all the other tests done.  It's a rant just because it seems so far away lol.  At least I'll be 8 weeks and the tiny baby should have a heartbeat and be able to wiggle around haha! I love seeing their little movements

What is one thing you want/need for this baby that you didn’t have/need with previous children?

 I'd like to have one of the baby carriers where you strap them to your body so I can move around with the baby if he/she is fussy while I'm trying to get something done.

GTKY: what was the most memorable gift you ever received? 

I had my son three days before my birthday and he is the most memorable gift I've ever received.

@Shan870 I have both a Tula and a K'Tan. I'll use the K'Tan when LO is really little and then switch to the Tula (with the infant insert at first). Babywearing is great!

@bumpybump Yes I bet it is great!  Will probably be the first thing I buy for the LO and me.  What's the difference with the K'Tan and the Tula?  I'm about to look them up now lol.

@Shan870 I consider them rather different from each other. The K'Tan I only used when DD was really young (maybe up to 3 months). It's an easier version of a wrap carrier and keeps the baby close and safe with only fabric. They are sized since you cannot adjust the fit.  Some can nurse wearing it but I never mastered that. The Tula is a soft structured carrier that we bought when she was 6 months old (but you can use it earlier with a rolled up towel under LOs bottom or the infant insert). They are a one-size fits all carrier with straps and buckles to get the right for for you and LO. I find the Tula to be really comfortable. I now back wear my DD in the same carrier (even did it while voting last month). Plus, Tulas have awesome prints!  K'tans are much cheaper but not near the longevity compared to a Tula or other soft structured carrier. Tulsa also seem to hold their resale value well. 

We also have an Osprey Poco Pack Plus for when we go hiking. I used to use the Tula for that but we wanted a better pack for hiking that carried more stuff for long hikes. Plus, DH isn't in love with wearing the girly pattern on the Tula

I'm not sure where to post this since there seem to be big restrictions/guidelines on where and how we should post, but have any STMs received their week-by-week pregnancy emails? I checked my email preferences again and I think they're correct, but I haven't received anything yet today. With DD, I remember waking up in the mornings and reading the updates first thing.

I have a stupid cold which I didn't  have with my son!  I had really bad morning sickness with him and lost 15 lbs. That started around 5 weeks so I still have till next week to see lol. But this pregnancy I am super super tired!! I was not like this with Troy.

@Shan870 a Standard Tula was the best carrier I could have gotten!! It still fits my 17 month old! you should look into them! They have websites that you can do layaway and make payments if the price is an issue. That's what I had to do.

@Shan870 I got an Ergo when DD was born with the infant insert and we still use it at 2.5 for easy hikes and long walks. Best. Purchase. Ever.

So far just cramping. I'm paranoid that my period will show up. I got my BGP at 3 weeks 1 day, so it is still so early! I had the easiest pregnancy the first time, hoping for a repeat.

 Like everyone, I hate that I need to wait so long for my first OB appt. I haven't even called to schedule yet but they won't see me until 8 weeks, so early January. 

What is one thing you want/need for this baby that you didn’t have/need with previous children?

 I definitely want a good double stroller. And I want a good lactation consultant lol... I was unable to nurse my son and I really want to be successful this time around.

GTKY: what was the most memorable gift you ever received? 

My sister in law made a scrapbook of my son's first year, complete with letters from everyone we are closest to. I still read those letters and get choked up!

@NxyHmm I'll Have to look into that one as well.  So many options..I've only seen the ones in target (can't remember the brand) but I'll definitely research that one as well.

@Shan870 my advice is to try them out first. If you're near a bigger metro area, they typically have babywearing groups and you can borrow carriers to try. Or we have a store here that you can try them on with a fake 8 lb baby doll to get a feel for them. Super helpful!  Everyone is different so the one that works for you may be different.

@kristenk727 I cramped also during that time.  AF, for me, was supposed to start 30 Nov so I was holding my breath and checking that entire day and nothing.  FX the same for you!

@kristenk727 double stroller wise, all the twins moms I know have the Baby Jogger City Select and love it. It's also the stroller I see on our zoo trips all the time (we go a lot). The second most popular I see is the Contours one. We chose the City Select because it's lighter, can still be used as a single stroller (I'll likely babywear a lot at first), is structurally better, pushes well with a lot of weight, is more compact, holds its resale value very well, our current striker is a Baby Jogger, plus Baby Jogger has excellent customer service. Contours is a lot cheaper (especially compared at full price) but that was about the only real reason we looked at it.

Oh yea absolutely find somewhere or someone who can let you try them on! My DH is over 6 feet tall and I'm like 5 feet tall, the Ergo was just the one that fit us both most comfortably without having to buy two for our different frames.

 Lots of crazy mood swing hormones!  I cry at the drop of a hat!!  So tired! I have had some brief glimpses of food aversions/cravings and m/s, but nothing too crazy yet.  Late pregnancy I didn't really have any symptoms until like week 9 or 10, but then I felt so terrible until almost my 3rd trimester.  I am really hoping that was my bad pregnancy and this one will be a breeze  because they're all different, right!?!

 While picking up DD to nurse last night (11 months, still gets up at least twice a night.....) I pulled a muscle in my back.  And because Im KU I can't take any muscle pain relievers... it even hurts to breath!

 A double stroller, haha.  We went a little FTM crazy, and bought all the things.  We have more things than any baby would want or need.  So pretty set of the stuff.

I haven't received it yet, but for Christmas I asked DH to get me a breastmilk ring.  I had a really rocky journey breastfeeding but wanted so desperately to make it to a year.  I am finally at the point when I think I will (just over 3 weeks to go, and only 11 more working days that I have to pump). He is getting the ring to celebrate the journey, and the success I had.

So far nothing major. I'm oddly craving salty, crunchy or foods high in protein. Odd for a sweet tooth girl like myself. I'm really tired by 2 pm every day and am usually in bed at 8 pm.

It's snowing!!! I hate driving in it, buts it's so pretty and peaceful.

 A double stroller and we need to sell our SUV and buy a minivan.

I think when my husband surprised me and 4 of my girlfriends drove 5 hours to our house for a girls weekend. He took care of organizing everything for us that weekend, it was so sweet.

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies? Peeing a lot, some slight nausea. Boobs hurt occasionally. Heartburn! 

All of it is seems to be about the same. I don't really remember much symptoms happening until about 7 weeks. But maybe I don't remember that far back. I will say heartburn is a new one though!

 

Rant/Rave/Questions? I forgot how much you pee. I'm lazy and wait until like it's bursting and then run to the bathroom. My rant is, I'm exhausted. My child is not going to sleep at night. It's taking us 2+ hours for bedtime at night and then he gets up 3+ times at night. He use to be our 12+ hour straight sleeper. This has been going on for about 6 months now. We are trying something different this week hoping it works. 

 

What is one thing you want/need for this baby that you didn’t have/need with previous children? I think I want to buy a carrier. I didn't do it with Jacob but I really want/need to with this one.

Seeing all this talk about baby wearing and I love it!!! I mastered nursing in my Moby with DS1 but didn't do it with DD2. 

My my question is, does any other mom feel protective and want to be the only one to wear baby? I always want to be the one wearing baby, even if it strains my back. My husband has literally never worn either of our kids. Just wondering if anyone else felt like that or if I'm just BSC

Same here! BF did not work for me. My breastmilk never came in. Even with BF every 2 hours, pumping etc. I tried pumping one night, the next morning my breasts had gone down 2 cup sizes. I am going to try EVERYTHING this time.

I just realized that makes me sound like a brat. I have gotten some amazing gifts etc over the years. I just am having a hard time thinking today of a specific one!

@morgy_bee the only time DH really wants to wear DD is in the Osprey pack when we hike. Otherwise he puts her on his shoulders. He wasn't ever into wearing her. I think it was the girly Tula that did it. This is ours...

Yup. Mine grew about two cup sizes during the pregnancy and then almost a week later my boobs were swimming in my bra. I still have guilt as well. But at that point there was nothing I could do. But I hear you. My son is growing and smart and doing well. Even though he's a super picky eater! But next time I'm meeting with an LC before I leave and have tons of supplements on hand and start pumping ASAP.

@morgy_bee My DH didn't like to wear DD when she was tiny but as soon as he could wear her on his back he loved wearing her. He has her on his shoulders most of the time now but when we go on day trips I like to have it for when she gets tired of walking.

Not much, maybe a little cramping. Very similar to my daughter. MS hit around 8 weeks, so I'm pretty on edge

Our house is on the market (on day 50) and I'm more anxious than ever to sell. We have one neighborhood we want to live in and our only (aka cheapest) option is to build so that's 4-6 months. We are pushing it!!! We've had a good amount of showing but I know this is the slowest time of year. FX

I really want a Tula and an awesome  double stroller.

Memorable: my sweet baby girl was born on Valentine's Day. Literally the greatest gift ever. Nothing will ever beat it!

Rant/Rave/Questions? Nothing much, just want to see this baby's heartbeat. I will be biting my nails off in the meantime. 

 

What is one thing you want/need for this baby that you didn’t have/need with previous children? Milk Snob cover, they're so cute! 

 

GTKY: what was the most memorable gift you ever received?  A pair of Tiffany earrings from my husband for our anniversary. They were teardrops for all of our happy and sad years we have shared over the years. It was so sweet, and uncharacteristic of him.

@mborn24 I've been looking at the milk snob covers too. I have a friend that has one and loves it!  My only concern is the reports that recently came out about using blankets and such to cover a car seat and how hot they can get. I know the milk snob has the open top but I still wonder about if that's ok.
