Tell your TTC or happy SURPRISE story - We decided to NTNP in August, so my IUD was removed on 8/26. We NTNP in September but I went BSC in October and well, here we are!
We all want that warm baby in our arms. But when you think of future DS/DD, what picture fills you with warm fuzzies? My husband holding our child. Loving them. Caring for them.
What features (physical or personality) do you hope baby inherits from you or your SO/DH? His good looks, more of my personality. Though this kid is doomed! My DH and I are both super know it alls!
What nesting activity/item are you most excited for? Any plans in the works yet? Getting a 'nursery' ready! It will be woodland themed.
Any fur-babies at home? (Pics please!) No, sadly. My cat had to be put down in July of this year.
What are your favorite hobbies/interests? Dagorhir, photography, TWD, GOT, Gilmore Girls!
We met at our church youth group in middle school!! He actually had a crush on my best friend for the longest time, and I was the one who always had to console him when she rejected him.

This cycle I was just starting to temp and use OPK's, so when I was talking to DH about timing sex, I was like, "let's do everything right this cycle and just see how it goes, that way we'll know for next time." And well...looks like "next time" isn't going to be for a couple of years, so...

Definitley thinking of DH with a baby is what gives me the warm fuzzies. He's just as excited as I am and I can't wait to see him as a dad.
What features (physical or personality) do you hope baby inherits from you or your SO/DH?
This one is a long shot, but DH and I both come from a family of blue eyed people, although we both have brown eyes. I've always loved blue eyes and I secretly hope that the stars align and our LO comes out with blue eyes. (Of course this isn't a deal breaker hahaha)
What nesting activity/item are you most excited for? Any plans in the works yet?
Definitely setting up the nursery and getting everything organized for baby's arrival. We are moving in January so I'm excited to have new home projects to keep me busy.

DH and I love biking together, I love reading, cooking and baking, crocheting and any kind of DIY project.

We started trying in July, and we're starting to get a little sicouraged. I bought an OPK in Sept but it never showed ovulation. So I bought the expensive one on amazon to use for my next cycle. Opened the box and read the directions, and then got my BFP a week later.

Haha I have a 3YO so I don't have hobbies! Love TWD, GOT, MTG, CAH, and making a nice fire in the backyard.
We were set up by friends. It was the worst date (group) of my life and when he asked for my number at the end I told him no. He ended up making a joke and I gave it to him. We've been together ever since!

We were not trying, then trying, then not. I was going to go back on the pill, and got my BFP the week before I was going to start them! We're very happy and excited but it was a huge surprise!

Tell your TTC or happy SURPRISE story - I've been ready for baby #2 for a long time. Pretty much as soon as I stopped nursing my DD after a year I was ready to start again. Hubs on the other hand, needed time. This last summer was the first year he really felt "ready". So when he gave me the green light we started trying immediately. I didn't know much about temping/opking things until I checked out the TTC board and lurked like a creepy person for many weeks. I learned so much from those ladies, and I felt like it helped us get pregnant quickly. The first baby took us a year to conceive, this one took four months of trying (the last two months with an arsenal of knowledge). I feel like I owe that to the amazing community here on TB!
We all want that warm baby in our arms. But when you think of future DS/DD, what picture fills you with warm fuzzies? Future baby and my DD playing together, becoming buds. Also anything involving DH playing in the grass and sunshine with the kids. Hiking together as a family. Uh. So presh.
What features (physical or personality) do you hope baby inherits from you or your SO/DH? My husband has an amazing sense of humor. No one makes me laugh like he does. I'm a bit subdued and quiet in real life, so I'd love to see his energy, humor and pizzazz in our future kid. I also hope that baby inherits some of my hippy nature. I'm very spiritual (though not religious) and see things a lot differently than my husband when it comes to relationships and nature. It would be cool to connect on that level with my kids.
What nesting activity/item are you most excited for? Any plans in the works yet? The nursery of course. I feel like a lot of people are doing this, but I really want a cool woodsy, rustic theme. Maybe paint or stick some tree decals on the walls. Have some woodland animals around. I wants the colors to be non-traditional too. Lots of texture (feathers, wood and furry things). Basically I'm going to really want this room for myself when I'm done with it haha. I love to do DIY crafts, so I have my work cut out for me. I better start now.
Any fur-babies at home? (Pics please!) Not yet! But we are huge animal lovers - just haven't been in a space that allows pets. We just moved into a new house and we are planning to get my daughter a cat for Christmas! Can't wait.
What are your favorite hobbies/interests? My very most favorite thing is hiking on the Blueridge. The mountains are my sacred place, and I go there to reset and get centered. Aside from that, I'm a very right brained person (very little left brain qualities though, I must say). I love painting, photography playing/writing music, sewing quilts and little dresses, crafting. Also I'm big into yoga and being active.

How did you and your SO/DH meet?
We technically met in college, but he's a lot older than me. I started taking college classes in high school and it was his last semester. He assumed that since I was in college, I was over 18.. whoops. But everything worked out and we've been together for almost 7 years and married for 1.5 years.

I had been temping and charting since last March and was all over the place so I assumed it wouldn't happen for us right away. We stopped preventing in October and we were going to actively start trying in December but apparently October was a good month for us!

I'm mostly excited for DD! She will be 4 when baby is here and she has seriously been talking about babies since she started talking.
What features (physical or personality) do you hope baby inherits from you or your SO/DH?
With DD I thought for sure that she would look like DH since he has very dominant features (he's Mexican and Native American) while I have all of the non-dominant featues. It turned out that she's literally my twin so I kind of hope the next one looks more like DH.
What nesting activity/item are you most excited for? Any plans in the works yet?
I feel like I've already started nesting and planning out what I'm going going to buy lol. I'm really looking forward to buying clothes I guess.

What are your favorite hobbies/interests?
Hobbies are overrated lol. DH and I have been doing volleyball leagues for forever and I'm really sad about not being able to do it anymore. I'm planning on asking my OB about it and hopefully she lets me continue for a while! I'm also a part of a couple book clubs but with this exhaustion, I've been falling asleep every time I go to read.

@kat0607 I have brown eyes and so does most of our family, but our DD ended up with blue eyes. Same thing happened to my brother's daughter even though he had brown and his wife had hazel. It can happen! Haha

How did you and your SO/DH meet? We lived on the same floor our freshman year of college.
Tell your TTC or happy SURPRISE story - We planned to TTC in September after getting back from a vacation. I got really into learning about fertility and got KU our second cycle! I definitely did not think it would happen so quickly, but I am glad it did

We became best friends while attending a technical school during high school. Neither of us knew the other had a crush on the other. 9 months later we decided to hang out just us and realized the others feelings. Well, he was dating someone older than us. He went to break up with her and that's when he found out she was pregnant with their daughter. They married soon before baby between our jr and sr year. 8 years later we reconnected online. He was in chicago and I was in Columbus(OH) and we were both single. We decided to try dating so he moved back and we've now been together almost 6 years, married for 18 months.
Tell your TTC or happy SURPRISE story - Well, june 2012 I gave birth to our son. When I was 8 weeks PP grandma took all 3 kids so we could have some time alone. lol well we ended up having too much alcohol and forgot to use condoms (that was our birth control as we were going to start trying at 6 months PP). 4 weeks later he said he thought I was pregnant. I of course said "ummm no. I JUST had a baby." Lo and behold positive test the next morning. While surprised definitely happy.

Tell your TTC or happy SURPRISE story -
This is our third. We tried for 8 months. I temped for half of that and used OPKs for the entire thing. Our timing was always good, and of course it was frustrating. I got bloodwork done because my LP was short (8-9 days) and my FSH came back high. That was this cycle, so I was in the beginning of freak out mode after googling high FSH and all the things that can go along with that. I was genuinely shocked with the BFP. The only thing I did differently this cycle was adding a B Complex to lengthen my LP, and I really believe it worked.

My two girls have the sweetest relationship, I can't wait to see them love on a little squish the way they love on each other.

This is a tough one, I would have had an answer before my first. Now that I have two amazing little girls who got drastically different traits from my husband and I, so I am just excited to see what combo this one has. I'm a little biased but I happen to think we make pretty awesome babies.

I can't wait until that cleaning drive kicks in. My house was so clean, and I even painted lots of rooms 8 months pregnant. I can't wait for pregnant me to get to work.

I’m with @kat0607 on the long shot- I would love for the baby to get DH’s gray eyes and blond hair, but my dominant genes will probably win that battle. I would also love for the baby to get DH’s calm demeanor and intelligence.
What nesting activity/item are you most excited for? Any plans in the works yet? Nothing in the works yet! I am definitely excited about the nursery, but I haven’t started planning a theme or anything.

Tell your TTC or happy SURPRISE story - DH and I took a 3 week long road trip from Eastern Ontario out to Tofino, BC (farthest point) and back, in August/early Sept. A little over 10,500km in total! This was our last big "hoo-rah" before TTC. I was having a halloween party and wanted to know for sure before I drank. I wasn't expecting to get a BFP but I did. Of course no one was home and I was jumping around like a school girl. DH wasn't answering calls or texts it was so infuriating haha! We are waiting till Christmas to spill to family (Aunt's, Uncle's, cousins etc.) and publicly. But for family Christmas dinners, we are going to arrive with pregnancy shirts. DH's says, "Waiting for Player #3" because he likes to game haha!

My thirst for knowledge. I'm an "always learning" king of person and I hope they are the same. Probably more skills than anything, organizational. It makes life easier. They definitely don't want my hair. Thick, thick and thick.
His teeth. My goodness his teeth. They are perfect! I had a lot of work done to mine when I was a kid. His son has perfect teeth so I'm hoping those genes are strong. I hope they inherit his easy-going-ness about life. He's my rock, my ground support. When I'm freaking out, he's the calm in the storm.
What nesting activity/item are you most excited for? Any plans in the works yet? I already bought a crib but it needs to be painted so there's that ... otherwise I already purchased some little things like shampoo, wipes and receiving blankets. (I'm an eco-friendly, chemical-free "Mom" so that stuff gets expensive. Better to buy over time) My sister and friends have already started passing stuff along to me.

We all want that warm baby in our arms. But when you think of future DS/DD, what picture fills you with warm fuzzies? Sounds like lots of us picture our DHs with the babies. My H is so excited, and he's going to be such a great dad. He's already planning things to teach him/her.
What features (physical or personality) do you hope baby inherits from you or your SO/DH? Definitely H's eyes. They're GORGEOUS! They are light green with a gold ring right around the pupil. My eyes are super dark, so genetics isn't on our side, but I can hope, right?
I hope LO is a mix of our personalities. I'm more type A and planning, and H is very laid back.
What nesting activity/item are you most excited for? Any plans in the works yet? The nursery. I have so many ideas (a whole Pinterest board!), but I want to find out if LO is a boy or girl first before doing much.

Tell your TTC or happy SURPRISE story - Before meeting DH he had cancer (he's completely fine now), because of his treatments his Drs gave him about a 5% chance of having kids. After we got engaged we said we wouldn't prevent having kids and just see what happens knowing the odds wearn't in our favor............a month later there was a positive pregnancy test!! Of course now that I'm pregnant for the 5th time I'm pretty sure the Drs were being conservative with that 5% lol.

What features (physical or personality) do you hope baby inherits from you or your SO/DH? I hope this little one is mellow and easy going like DH. Both my girls are handfuls and my son is super chill like dad.
What nesting activity/item are you most excited for? Any plans in the works yet? I just want to purge all the crap from my house!
Any fur-babies at home? (Pics please!) yes we have a chocolate lab named Libby. She has been in the cone of shame for 11 weeks because of ear issues so a picture would be hilarious but I have no idea how to add pictures.

Tell your TTC or happy SURPRISE story - Well, we were not trying necessarily, but we were just kind of at the point of being okay with the idea of baby 2.0. I just wanted to make sure I was out of grad school, which I'll be done with in May.
We all want that warm baby in our arms. But when you think of future DS/DD, what picture fills you with warm fuzzies? Thinking of my 4yo daughter as a big sister. I swear she's been asking for a baby since she was a baby herself. I think a family of four has a good ring to it.
What features (physical or personality) do you hope baby inherits from you or your SO/DH? I hope this baby gets my husbands eyes, he has beautiful green eyes that change colors in different light. I'd also like it to have my olive skin. I also hope this baby has as much empathy and thoughtfulness that my DD has.
What nesting activity/item are you most excited for? Any plans in the works yet? I want to purge my whole damn house right now. I'm sure after the holidays I will feel that itch even more. I cant wait to get rid of a bunch of crap & clutter that we just keep but do not use. No plans in the work yet, though I did just yesterday do a massive toy room purge!

How did you and your SO/DH meet? We met in high school, DH was a senior and I was a very young freshman. We reconnected a couple years later when my dad no longer thought about killing him.

DH is very laid back and go with the flow, I on the other hand am very wound up and have to have everything go exactly the way I plan. My DD and DS have both inherited that from me, DD more so than DS
What nesting activity/item are you most excited for? Any plans in the works yet? Hopefully we will be moved into a new house and I can decorate the nursery and all the kids rooms.
Any fur-babies at home? (Pics please!) Not yet but we will be getting DH a duck hunting lab for Christmas so we are excited for that
What are your favorite hobbies/interests I coach cheerleading, I consider it a hobby because I love it so much, I choreograph all of our routines and that takes up a lot of my time but I don't mind it because love it so much

abjm0325 Your "How We Met" is super sweet as well! I can't believe you've known eachother that long! And staying in touch through "Aim" made me giggle. That's how my husband and I had the courage to have more than music conversations together.
stokesm21 I've been really wanting to learn more about being an eco-friendly mom. I've been making great strides in our home, but don't know how to venture into that with kid world. Any resources you recommend? Also, loved reading your whole post and how you described your DH. Mine is my rock too

I hope this baby has DH's dark curly hair. DD is a copy of me with blonde wavy hair, which I love, so I would love for this one to look more like DH.
What nesting activity/item are you most excited for? Any plans in the works yet? I haven't planned anything yet and am not nearly as excited about the "nesting" type stuff as I was with my first pregnancy. This time it just seems overwhelming instead!

What are your favorite hobbies/interests?
Reading! Used to enjoy running but have had to take a break due to back issues and surgery this summer. Also spending time with family is definitely my favorite activity of all.

We all want that warm baby in our arms. But when you think of future DS/DD, what picture fills you with warm fuzzies? that first millisecond after delivery. I still tear up thinking about it from DD. We didn't know the sex, and won't know again and there is just so much culminated in that single moment.
What features (physical or personality) do you hope baby inherits from you or your SO/DH? I hope it looks exactly like DD... DD doesn't look a lick like me but I think she is so darn cute. She's also very easy-going but shy. I hope this one is a bit more outgoing. DD is incredibly serious and quiet in public which is the opposite of DH and I.
What nesting activity/item are you most excited for? Any plans in the works yet? no I'll wait for awhile for any of that.
Any fur-babies at home? (Pics please!) we just put our dog down a few months ago. We miss him but we don't plan on getting another anytime soon.
What are your favorite hobbies/interests? reading, watching trashy DVRed reality tv, sleeping, and good IPA's and red wine (not anymore....)

I have ALL our things from both kids, so once this one is born we will go up in the attic and get rid of/sell whatever gender specific items we don't need.

I'm a teacher turned SAHM, my hobbies consist of meal planning and budgeting - lol! I do tutor kids in the neighborhood, so that's fun (and gives me some extra $$$)

Tell your TTC or happy SURPRISE story - We decided to start TTC on our two year wedding anniversary in June 2015. It was a very long and emotionally draining 16 months/14 cycles. Month after month, I would get my hopes up only to be completely devastated when AF would show up. I even had an appointment schedule with my OB/GYN in December to talk about testing. I'm not sure what finally worked this cycle, but I finally got a BFP on 11/9!
We all want that warm baby in our arms. But when you think of future DS/DD, what picture fills you with warm fuzzies? This will be the first grandchild on my side of the family. I can't wait to see my mom holding her first grandchild.
What features (physical or personality) do you hope baby inherits from you or your SO/DH? Hopefully, our baby gets their height from my H. I'm short (only 5'3"), but my H is 6'1".
What nesting activity/item are you most excited for? Any plans in the works yet? I'm excited to finally redo our spare bedroom. We moved into our house two years ago and it's been one of those rooms that we've been saying we'd get to when the time comes. After the holidays, H and my step-dad plan to start scrapping the old wallpaper off and prepping the walls for paint. My brother is an electrician, so he is going to replace all of our outlets with tamper-resistant ones.

I was embarassed to admit it for a while, but I'll own it now. We met on Match. I had just broken up with my ex after he cheated on me and was feeling very out of practice in the dating game, so my friend signed me up for the free trial. I wasn't looking for anything serious, just wanted to get my feet wet. I had also promised myself I would never date military again (obviously that went out the window). I had given my ex concert tickets for Christmas before we broke up and never asked for them back and I was feeling pretty down as the date of the concert approached. My husband asked me out and our first date was the night of the concert (completely by coincidence), six weeks after my breakup. We were married 11 months later. When you know, you know!

We tried for a year to get pregnant with our son. A year of frustration, periods that ranged from 42 to 93 days long, a trans-Pacific move, and finally two rounds of Clomid later, I finally got my positive test. I literally collapsed when the doctor called to confirm.
This one was planned as well and we started trying when my husband returned from a six month deployment on September 1st. After all the stress and time and frustration it took to get pregnant with my son, we never expected me to get pregnant so quickly, but I knew Inwas pregnant this time a week before I ever turned a test.
We all want that warm baby in our arms. But when you think of future DS/DD, what picture fills you with warm fuzzies?
There is this amazing moment I have frozen in my mind of when my son was born. He came out screaming - I literally hadn't even finished delivering him before he was hollering. But as soon as they laid him on my chest, he got quiet and just stared up at me blinking. He was instantly content. I can't wait for that moment again.
I am also over the top excited to see my son be a big brother. He is so gentle and loves other kids, but he doesn't really have much opportunity to interact, as he's the only child/cousin/grandchild, and none of my friends outside the military community have kids yet. So I can't wait for them to have each other.
What features (physical or personality) do you hope baby inherits from you or your SO/DH?
My husband has the most beautiful golden skin color and the sweetest crooked smile. My son inherited both, and I sincerely hope this one does as well.

I went home for deployment last February, so all our household goods have been in storage for almost a year. We just bought a house in July, and we are set to get our things back this December. I can't wait to have my house back together and my family back under one roof (my pets are with relatives, we have been staying with friends...we're all over the place). We are probably going to actually redo my son's room, sonce my husband wants to decorate it with him and he's already trying to climb out of his crib. So, baby will get his beautiful nursery that he only slept in for 5 months (which breaks my heart).

How did you and your SO/DH meet? We met our freshman year of high school. Starting dating 15 years ago this December!
Tell your TTC or happy SURPRISE story - We decided to NTNP starting in July, after a bike ride across the state we live in. Actively started TTC in September. Learned a ton over in TTGP, and got our BFP November 16th.
We all want that warm baby in our arms. But when you think of future DS/DD, what picture fills you with warm fuzzies? DH with a baby. This will be our first, and I can't wait to watch him with a newborn. I have a lot of nieces and nephews so I've had a bunch of practice - this will be his first major experience with a baby.
What features (physical or personality) do you hope baby inherits from you or your SO/DH? This sounds creepy, but DH and I look a lot alike - big green eyes and brown hair. I hope that our little one has DH's laid back attitude and my passion to serve.
What nesting activity/item are you most excited for? Any plans in the works yet? I can't wait to crochet a baby blanket. I've made nearly a dozen blankets for friends and family - I'm so excited to make one for my own LO!

Tell your TTC or happy SURPRISE story - When we got married last year in July, we decided to give it one year of not trying but not avoiding. We are a blended family and between the two of us we have two 11 year old girls and a 9 year old girl. So about a month ago, DH said he was scheduling his vasectomy because he turned 40 on the 17th of Nov. HA! That's all it took to get pregnant!

I'd like to say I have a ton of time for hobbies, but since my children are all tween girls who play sports and instruments...my hobbies are driving my kids to and from practices and dragging my chairs and EZ up to soccer games and volleyball tournaments. Filling my car with endless amounts of sand from their surfboards....
Thank God for slings and wraps, this baby will have to be carried on my body where ever we go. My personal hobbies include crafting, hiking and camping, and watching the Bachelor/Bachelorette with a big group of my mom friends with champagne and wine (ugh, not for me for a while!).
We met in high school. We had a class together sophomore year and connected instantly. However, he didn't ask me out until our senior prom. We've been together ever since.

We started ttc in March. We had a Mmc in June. My body didn't recover well and it took 110 days and lots of meds to get me to have a period again. After that I started temping and using opks and now we are here!

Tell your TTC or happy SURPRISE story - We planned to start ttc in may, but literally 2 days before my FW, DH lost his job. I was devastated (for more than one reason, obviously) but it had taken me a long time to actually want #2 because DS is a really tough child. Fast forward to September, he got a new job. We started ttc in October and got a BFP in November! It only took us 2 cycles with DS as well. We were super lucky!

For some reason he's been telling EVERYONE he was having a baby sister since before we were even ttc. He has no idea we are pregnant yet but I'm not sure how we are going to break it to him if it's a boy! haha!! Also, I absolutely cannot wait for those sweet newborn snuggles. Ahhh!
What features (physical or personality) do you hope baby inherits from you or your SO/DH? Well poor DS got a compounded strong will. Apparently he inherited both mine and DHs stubbornness. Which I'm sure i will be thankful for one day... haha. DH and i have opposite features and DS got my blonde hair/blue eyes but looks JUST like DH otherwise. I would be super happy if that happened again.

What are your favorite hobbies/interests? Well my 2.5 year old keeps me pretty busy but if I happen to have a few minutes free I love crafting. I do vinyl- so decals, shirts, cups, anything really and I LOVE it. I love being able to make things personalized for my DS... so I may have a bit of a problem if we have a girl this time!
