I know it's super early but has anyone already started thinking about nursery design?
We can't do too much at our town home but I plan on getting woodland themed wall stickers and having the bedding be woodland themed. My best friend bought me a ceramic fox coin bank so I am making sure to have foxes in there. In fairness I had thought about a lot of this before being pregnant. LOL
We live in a 3 bedroom, both my girls currently have their own rooms, so we are debating who is going to be sharing, but honestly, the baby will more than likely be in our room for the first 4 months or so. So, the nursery ideas haven't flooded my mind yet.
I finally had a baby dream last night. Baby had a head full of dark hair (Like DH) and she was soooo small. I was so excited to finally picture baby in a dream.

I am SO moody. Like, the pregnancy hormones are crazy. I never felt like this with my first. I know that I am irrationally moody, and can NOT help myself.
@osucma I've thought a lot about nursery design!! My husband and I finally found a house and have started the paper work, so the prospect of a nursery is becoming more and more real now! I've already pinned a ton of gender-neutral nursery ideas on Pinterest. I love soft, neutral colors in general (grey, navy, white, etc.) so I think our nursery will be mainly neutral with some added touches depending on if it's a boy or girl. For a girl I'm thinking lots of soft, floral colors and patterns, for a boy, I'm thinking a Peter Rabbit theme.
ETA: I think foxes would be SO cute, and that's definitely doable for a boy or girl
Wall stickers are amazing. We did them for the nursery when DS was born, and then when we changed them for his "big boy" room. Now, we're going to let him choose which room he wants, and keep on using the stickers. I use them in my classroom, too. Easiest way to theme a room! I haven't even looked at decor for this one, but I'm about to start!!
@osucma I love thinking about the nursery! We don't own, so not gonna do anything super permanent and, very sadly, I'll be giving up my office for it, but still excited! I'm going to wait to get too plan-intensive until second trimester, but I love putting things on Pinterest!

We bought and are completely redoing the house next door to is now. DH says it should be ready by spring, so we have the luxury of designing everything while not having to try to live in it at the same time. We have two bedrooms upstairs, one for my stepson the other for DD/DS. The second bedroom downstairs is going to be the nursery/playroom for the kids (the baby can sleep in a bassinet in our room if the other babies are still awake). Right now we are doing gender neutral since all the kids will use the room - we have a nice warm tangerine paint and will either do chalkboard paint on one wall or put a white board so they can draw.
We're moving into a new house this week. One of the bedrooms is painted blue and the other is a neutral tan/green, which is really similar to our nursery for DS. I was hoping to put DS in the blue room and then I could reuse all my nursery stuff in the green room for #2 and get away without having to paint anything. But when we were there last night DS really wanted the green room. So if this baby is a girl it looks like I'll be redecorating the blue room.

I bought a crib this weekend if it makes you feel better. Used and it's beautiful and in great shape. I plan to make a trip to a (somewhat) nearby city next weekend to get paint for it. Driving so far because it's an eco-friendly paint which I can't find here unfortunately. But on the bright side, it's where I went to college and I have a very dear friend there. We were TTC at the same time, she's a few weeks ahead of me. We plan to have lunch and catch up.
But as soon as I found out I started looking at design, decals that I might want on the wall etc. When we built the house I painted the room beige and a burnt orange without even thinking of nursery. I feel orange is pretty unisex so we don't plan to change much. Just make it a little more "baby" looking. I also went to my local eco-store and started picking up items such as shampoo, wipes, receiving blankets etc. Gotta grab all that stuff when it's on sale! To say I am ahead of the game is an understatement haha!

I haven't thought about a design yet as much as items I want and how I might have them arranged but as far as any decor, nothing yet

Any time I had baby fever over the past 2 years, I would get on Pinterest and pin nursery ideas. Now the problem will be narrowing down all of my favorites! Or we may just stick with DD's old nursery decor to save money. Not sure yet. I may be a little indecisive.
One thing I do know is we are not painting again, so whatever theme/decor we go with will have to match our gray walls.
We'll be moving DS out of the nursery into the other bedroom. If this baby is another boy we'll just leave it the exact same (teal/white/gray/orange) and if it's a girl we'll swap out the few orange things (curtains, throw pillow, etc) for dark purple.
I'm definitely leaning zoo animal type theme for the nursery boy or girl. I figure we can reuse things with a second. Plus my aunt cross stitched a beautiful jungle animal blanket that I'm 90% sure I shall be getting when I announce (because there were some hints)
I love all these theme and color ideas! @baxgirl the jungle zoo animal idea will be perfect with the blanket! Our nursery will be in the current guest room so I need to figure out how to try to accommodate both functions (or is that absurd??). On to pinterest!

@pepper16 ours is also technically the guest room although we have another room available. Our guest bed is an air mattress though so we could really put it anywhere.
Theme? Yea no. Crib. Diapers. Car seat. Onsies. Boobs. What else do I need? Then again this is my third and my SO is from a third world country and just thankful for running water so priorities are different.
@smorzandoj or those Nordic boxes they give to mothers. Cardboard box all good! When I was living in Bangladesh, babies slept in the same bed no problem.
I've started looking at furniture but am still clueless on a theme. We went on a safari for our honeymoon and have a lot of great shots of the animals we observed. I thought maybe we could incorporate that into the theme somehow.
Anyone have any any good recommendations for baby furniture? I am not so concerned about price as I am quality. I am hoping that we can buy a few classic pieces that the baby will be able to use at different stages of life (like a nice dresser and side table for a rocking chair that would become a nightstand.) The nursery does not have a closet so we'll either be adding one or needing an armoire. We recently bought a house and got burned buying a few cheaper pieces and not surprisingly the quality was awful. I have this horrible nightmare of the screws coming out of a crib in the middle of the night or something crazy like that. (Pregnancy anxiety/dreams are no joke!) I've been skimming Pottery Barn Kids and a few other sites but any recommendations would be welcome.
We live in a 1 bedroom shotgun home until our lease is up next october so sadly no nursery for us. We have a crib that my cousin just gave me 2 months ago when her 2 year old graduated to a big girl bed. We have that, a changing table she also gave us, and i'll probably get some shelves since it will all go in our room.

First of all, I can't believe y'all are in here planning nurseries!
@oheliza44. We bought our crib from restoration hardware. It is sturdy and I love it!!! We used a bassinet in our bedroom (Baby Bjorn halo bassinet) until DS outgrew it around 4 months. AAP now recommends baby staying in Mom's room for the first year and we are not pack n play people. Oh and we co - slept until literally two weeks ago when I started night weaning (DS is 16 months old). So although you may not need a crib at night initially and forever more (sic), the baby has to sleep somewhere safe and alone during the day. You may not want this to be your bedroom especially if someone else is helping out with baby during the day.
@smorzandoj the things will depend on the baby you take home. Some babies are easy - others not so much and will have you running out to buy all the things to make them more comfortable lol! But yeh you don't 'need' much.
Question for you ladies. I am heading down to the good ol USofA for thanksgiving and am hoping to pick up some gummy prenatals. What is your favourite kind and where do you get them?

@MrsN092714 - I had a hard time finding a ton of gummy prenatals but I take the First Response ones. I actually buy them on amazon with subscribe and save so they just show up monthly (when I have too many I can cancel a shipment). I don't like that they have sugar on the outside. My non-prenatal ones I used to take didn't but I couldn't find non sugar coated ones for prenatal.
@MrsN092714 when I was taking gummies, I really liked the Whole Foods 365 brand. They have the added Dha which I couldn't find in other prenatal gummies. I switched off gummies though bc after a year of taking them for "preconception" (was not planning it to take that long), I got sick of chewing vitamins. Otherwise they're great.
Had a blood draw today after having one Thursday and I think my arm is going to hurt. I bruise easy and they basically put the needle back through the bruise from Thursday...
@mrsn092714 I take the CVS pharmacy brand gummies and I like them. They have DHA and folic acid. They're cheaper than the 'name brand' gummies and quite often the CVS brand vitamins are BOGO half off or free.

Anyone who took B Complex while TTC, did you stop taking it? If so, when? I am taking 1000mg of B6 and B12.... I would ask my doctor but .... well that's for another thread.
When I was pregnant the first time I had both a boy and girl nursery planned. If this one is a girl it will be pink, white and gold. If it's a boy I'm trying to figure out how to make the nursery different without having to repaint the walls....or talk H into painting. I would rather paint and go with a Navy, and white with gold accent theme but that's going to take a lot of sweet talking on my part.
Not sure if this question belongs here but I'm going to put it out there.
Did anyone start out with very low hcg levels? I know that it's early but I can't get it out of my mind. According to my LMP I'm 4 weeks today. But my hcg showed up this morning as 30. The RE seemed fine with it and I get my beta done again on Monday. I just can't stop thinking about it.

I think the biggest thing is that they're doubling. Also, you may have ovulated later than your LMP would indicating meaning your not as far along as you thought which would cause a lower hcg level.

There's another thread with hcg levels listed that you should look for I think you'll find it useful. I'll tag you if I see it. Ditto pp, one number alone won't tell you anything. however, while later ovulation is certainly a possibility, hcg is produced after implantation so it's more indicative of a later implantation date - since most home pregnancy tests pick up 20iui hug and frer picks up 15iui, I'm guessing you probably just got your bfp and you're around 14dpo and you implanted maybe 12dpo?
