Happy Monday ladies! Who has appointments this week? (blood work or seeing a physician).

No appointments this week but getting the results from last weeks draws!  Had my first round of betas drawn very early at 3w5d and 4w for a little reassurance that things are starting off right.  Will be nice to see some numbers climbing.  Find out this afternoon!

I have my first appointment this week! It's basically just a consult with the NP. Not sure when I'll see the OB for the first time.

I have my first appointment tomorrow. I have to go to get an ultrasound first then to the OB if all is good with the US. Scared but excited at the same time!

I also have my first US tomorrow with the first appointment directly after. I am very eager... I want more knowledge on everything that is happening and some guidelines to follow from here on out. My OBGYN is awesome and I met with her in August for my annual check up and she gave me great, calm advice about TTGP which obviously was successful, so I am really looking forward to hearing her advice for the next 33 weeks. I also, more than anything, want to see our little blueberry and make sure everything is healthy. My husband is meeting me for the US but then taking off for the appointment (he owns a small business in our town and this time of year is super busy, so I told him I was totally fine with this). Plus it's nice because it's in the middle of the day, so that means I'm driving into work which I rarely do, and leaving early, and then just staying home after the appointment to make a nice big dinner.

I get to have blood drawn today after work  to check my levels one last time even though the numbers on Friday had more than doubled from what they were on Wednesday.

I have my OB appointment tomorrow morning. They had me go in for labs on Saturday so we could go over everything then. I'll update after my appointment tomorrow.

I have my first U/S on thursday with the RE. I am really nervous and hoping for good news.

Feeling annoyed! My first appointment and u/s isn't until 12/1, but I called my OB today with my concern about an ovarian cyst. Background: I've been diagnosed with ovarian cysts in the past. There were multiple, small ones on both ovaries. I've experienced twingy pain from them before, but nothing major. My right ovary started hurting again before I got pregnant and has become increasingly uncomfortable over the past week.

So, I called my doctor but she's off today so talked to the nurse of the OB who covers her patients on Mondays. The nurse translated my concerns to the OB and then called me back to recommend a blood test today and again on Wednesday to "check my levels are rising appropriately" because an u/s would be "too early to see anything".

My issues with this: 1) I understand they're going to check for my hcg to doubling in 48 hours and 2) that an u/s at this point (5 weeks) wouldn't show much in my UTERUS except for an empty gestational sac, but 3) THAT'S NOT WHERE I WANT TO CHECK!!! I would really like for them to look at my right OVARY. To see if the cyst is large/ might twist my ovary/is anything to be concerned about or if we should just wait. In the meantime the blood tests will hopefully be reassuring, but just not the primary point of my concern. But playing telephone through the nurse wasn't getting me anywhere and my OB is out today anyway so I guess it's the best option I've got right now *Sigh*

@Pepper16 - I understand the frustration. Maybe they have a valid reason for starting with the blood test first?

@Pepper16 it sounds like something got lost in translation from the nurse to the ob (or whoever took the message). Try again tomorrow bc they should def Check it out!
i called my RE last week w the same pain and went in the next day. Saw nothing w the pregnancy but two huge cysts on my right side. I was told to be very careful bc they can twist or something. 
I really hope you can get in there to have it checked! I'm sure if you try to explain again you'll get in

@irishrose54 yes exactly!! Thank you! And I'm so sorry you're dealing with these damn cysts, too - FX that yours go easy on you! Your experience definitely makes me feel more empowered to call tomorrow when my OB is back in and try to explain again. Do you think I should go in today regardless to just get the blood work done in the meantime? (I know the lab already has the order to process). Nothing to lose, right?

Blood draw tomorrow to check my levels are up from Thursday's blood draw. Progesterone level is good from Thursday so that's a plus.

@pepper16 yes I would go in for the blood work and while there push for an ultrasound too. If they can't do it today then they should schedule u for another day very soon. Tell them you're in a lot of pain and make sure they get that bc otherwise I think sometimes the office staff maybe doesn't take it seriously. Keep us posted. Gl!

@pepper16 - ugh, how annoying. On one hand I bet they deal with people who want extra baby ultrasounds all the time and probably make stuff up to get them. On the other hand you clearly have a history of this so they need to take it seriously. Just keep emphasizing your cyst history and that you want an ultrasound ON YOUR OVARY!!! (but maybe not shout like me?)

Update - TW

so, I went in this morning at 7w2d according to LMP. Doc did an internal US and could only see half of the sac. He said my uterus is flat (instead of tilted forward), so he couldn't get a full picture. He then did the tummy ultrasound. He saw the sac, measuring at 6w5d, but it was empty. He said this could be a blighted ovum or it could be that the ultrasound wasn't strong enough. So tomorrow at 5pm I go to radiology for an in depth ultrasound and hope/pray to see a fetal pole. 

Yes, I'm a hot mess and trying to keep myself busy, anyone got any words of wisdom? Thanks for reading this novel of mine...

@mslynn2012 How incredibly stressful, I'm so sorry. I don't really have any words of wisdom, but I wanted to let you know that I'm thinking big huge positive thoughts for you and the u/s tomorrow!!

@mslynn2012 sorry you're going through this but try to take care of yourself tonight and hopefully tomorrow will bring you good news. I'm thinking that if the dr is sending you to a stronger U/S machine, then that's admitting the one you had today is likely to miss something early. I've also heard stories where when the uterus is not forward, it's harder to see anything. I'm hopeful for you and sending lots of positive vibes.

@baxgirl, @irishrose54, & @mimoca @pepper16, thank you ladies SO much! I'm just trying to stay busy (my house is SPARKLING) and keep my mind off the what ifs. I was ok till I told DH on the phone and he cried (the man is a freaking rock, so that's when I cried). I hate being in limbo and the unknown. The next 26 hours are gonna DRAG...

I had a phone consult yesterday with one of the nurses to get my medical history.  My first appointment with the OB is next Wednesday (I'll be 8wks 4days).  I'm not anticipating anything too exciting, other than a pap and whatever else they do at early appointments.  I'm pretty sure it's too soon for a Doppler heartbeat.

I have to go POAS at the office first then if that is positive, which I'm pretty positive it will be, they will send me for blood work, I'll meet with my OB, and get an ultrasound. My appointment is scheduled for Thursday morning so hopefully it doesn't last all day

Saw my OB today - measuring perfectly at 6 weeks 1 day with sac and baby with a flickering heart. It was great to see my OB again after our loss last winter. She, my DH and I have a great relationship.

Update: I talked to my nurse yesterday and was VERY clear about my concern about one of my ovarian cysts acting up and causing me discomfort. She talked to my OB who just confirmed what the one yesterday said (wants me to give blood before they do anything else). So I'm going in today for a blood draw. The second draw isn't ordered yet because I guess she'll decide if she needs that after the first (?). Ugh. I'm hoping for some reassuring betas and some face time with the OB at some point soon so I can try to explain my concern in person! My first appt isn't until 12/1.

I went to the dr today for my confirmation appt.  they said the test was extremely faint and there was a good chance I was experiencing a miscarriage.  Did a panel of blood work and they are going to try for an u/s in two weeks.  Fx.

@shaq1009 did they only do a urine pregnancy test? If so I would not lose hope just yet. Try to remain positive until you get that blood work result.

@osucma, just urine. But the line has gotten visibly lighter from my first test.  I tested again myself when I got home.  This is my third pregnancy and I have not experienced that before.  Still, cautiously optimistic.

@Shaq1009 - Are you using the same brand of test when you're testing at home? I know the doctor's probably use a generic brand but different at home tests measure at different levels. Still hoping for good results for you though!

@Shaq1009 it's good to stay cautiously optimistic bc there's no telling yet which way it could go. FX that everything works out. Sorry you're dealing with this though. It's tough.

@Pepper16 How is your pain? has it subsided at all? Since they won't see you for an U/S I will just tell you what my Dr. said - take it easy, don't twist much, and lay off the workouts for a bit. I have my U/S tomorrow to see what's going on with the pregnancy so hopefully I get good news and can start back on my workouts.
