I had an appointment today. Loved my sonographer, she spent a good long while looking at everything. He was moving so much at the last one they got very few measurements, basically she could just tell he was a boy. He's completely healthy and she understood after a few minutes why I said he was super active. She couldn't get a good view of his spine, well she could see it but couldn't get the exact picture she needed? anyway he was holding his feet and then sucking his thumb. my heart almost exploded. she gave me a cd with the pictures and even some videos. there is one video of his heart that she then moved to his face and you can see him moving his eyeballs , it's kinda freaky looking lol. Doctor scheduled all my next appointments until I'm 36 weeks. That made it seem much closer! I do have three more sonos, which I thought was weird because I've already had 2 and usually they don't do more than 3 unless something is wrong, I mean I'm not gonna object to getting to see him every month but I thought It was odd. Also, my placenta moved so no more worries about Placenta Previa!
In other news, I haven't told my in laws I'm not coming to Thanksgiving, I'm dreading it but I'm totally using my mom as an excuse, she's not gonna wanna go over there(Heck I don't wanna go over there) so I'm hoping they understand.
@RunBooRun me too! last time it was only marginal, but doctor wanted to keep an eye on it and I was worried it wouldn't move and he'd put me on bedrest. It apparently moved all the way to the top!
@mrsyimster I almost started that last weekend. I'll put it on my to watch list for when I'm done with the semester and I've got nothing to do while DD is in school. I've still got to finish Supernatural.
The Crown on netflix is a really good show y'all..
Yes!! I'm very much enjoying it!! Surprisingly DH was the one who suggested we watch it together... normally we can never ever agree on a show and spend more time arguing than watching, but it's a great combination of drama, politics, and history!
I just left my biweekly cervix check and am now waiting to hear from the doctor since he wasn't in the office yet. My cervix measured 2.3 cm, I was told previously that if it dropped below 2.5 I would need a cerclage. I'm really scared right now because the chances for complications are high if they go forward with the procedure since I'm farther along than I really should be to get it done. Praying everything will be ok, hopefully the doctor will have some reassuring news for me when he calls...

@serenity13 oh girl, prayers that they can hold off on this! Hope he calls soon-keep us updated!
prayers for you @serenity13. Hopefully the doctor calls soon with good news!
Everyone I know that's watched The Crown has raved about it!! I should check it out this weekend to make sure my Netflix is working for Gilmore Girls next week!!
Just heard from the dr - he said it's definitely shorter than it should be but it's still closed, which is good. He said at my next appt on 11/29 if it goes below 2.0 or starts opening that I'll either need a cerclage or they'll give me some progesterone hormone to prevent it from shortening further, but he said as of now it's still ok...Trying to have trust in my doctors & in God that regardless everything will work out!

it was a lot lot better than I expected! I binged the whole thing in 2 days!!!!!! I can't wait till season 2. I heard hey got great reviews from U.K. Too
@serenity13 that is such good news!! I know the emergency procedure isn't as desirable as the early preventative one so the closer you can get to viability before they go ahead with it the better! Prayers that you can trust that all is good and keep taking it day by day!
I'm back after a short break from here. I went home to Ohio with my little guy to visit family since we're missing out on the family Thanksgiving cruise that we were supposed to go on. Damn Zika. My MIL got on my nerves as expected, but thankfully I only had to see her for one day when she came by my parent's house for dinner. I've spoken before about how she has zero filter and doesn't think about how her words affect people. So of course in true MIL fashion, she offended people right off the bat when she came by the house. My dad goes outside to greet her and give her a hug and she nudges him away and says, "uh uh, I'm only here to see one person", talking about my son. She said the same thing when she walked through the door and people tried to speak to her and say hi. She literally didn't say hi to anyone, just walked past them and stated how she's there to see my son. Seeing as Oliver only sees her maybe twice a year, he of course wanted to have nothing to do with her. He clung to me like a leech and she got her feelings hurt. I mean, come on, he's 2 and she's practically a stranger to him. I told her to not be offended because he was like that with everyone else, including my mom. The only other person who he would go to besides me was my dad, who's his BFF. It's amazing how much he just loves my dad. Followed him everywhere. Anyway, as the day goes on, my MIL gets so desperate for Oliver to talk to her that she called my husband, put him on speakerphone, and says, "Oliver won't talk to me, make him talk to me!" My poor husband who doesn't bite his tongue with his mom flat out told her that Oliver DOES NOT want to talk to her if he doesn't want to and to hang up the phone. I know he was embarrassed. My MIL looked incredibly foolish in front of everyone and thankfully she left not too long after that. The rest of the time we were there was fun as Oliver got to play with my 2 year old niece and I actually went to the movies for the first time in 2 years with my mom, a couple of aunts, and my cousin while my dad watched Oliver. As wonderful as it is to visit family, it's even better to be back home in my own bed (without a toddler kicking me in the middle of the night) and to be with my husband again. And it's nice to be back to this board!
@mrsyimster id be sleepy too! DS has been serenading baby by screaming and crying into my belly...if she decides to stay in past her due date I'll know why!
Having a conversation with two co-workers who have never been pregnant. It's so funny what they think. "You're not sick anymore right it's after 3 months" "After you have one c-section aren't the rest after that c-sections?"
@Gators&BoSox seriously!!! I can imagine the same thing here--baby is thinking... I can hear my big sister terrorizing the house, I think I'll stay here for longer!

Hah! I had a group of single girls talking to me about breastfeeding "someone said it's actually not really easy... it's kinda hard. weird."
Heading into my weekly Epsom salt bath with the end of my designated "second Tri" bottle of wine.
DH agreed he'd be comfortable with a bottle per trimester, and the small 1/4 glass week to week has been a real treat!
Highly reccomend "The Apothocary's Daughter" by Julie Klassen to anyone that enjoys a Pride and Prejudice kind of historical drama but from a modern author.
@peony2418 I cant wait for Gilmore girls also, loved the show and I hated how it ended. @serenity13 glad your doctor called with good news, sending prayers that your measurements stay where the doc wants them to be and you wont need the procedure
yessssss @lilies5/28/06!! DH said to me tonight "hey, did you know Gilmore Girls was coming on next week on Netflix?" Haha, yes honey. That's why we renewed our Netflix a few months back.
I bought one of those big plush giraffes from Pottery Barn Kids. It looks so snuggly that I want to lay down with it and just go to sleep.
Did the 3D/4D scan last night after our less than desirable AS where DH and I both were unable to watch. It was so wonderful to get to watch baby girl finally!! We even got an extra 10 minutes to watch her as no one had an appointment after us. tons of pictures, a DVD and we got a heartbeat bear too.
Today had a horrible start, went to take DD to school at 7:15 this morning and I had left my wallet in my backpack yesterday because I had to rush DD inside yesterday because she needed to pee, someone broke into my car and stole my debit card. DH got paid at midnight last night so I was hysterical and so mad at myself for forgetting to go back out and get my wallet. I got it cancelled and got a new card but It was a bad morning.
I'm pretty excited about the maternity pictures I'm going to be taking next month. I'm styling it and hubby is taking the pictures. I don't know how it's going to turn out but that's the fun in it. Last time we hired a photographer but doing things different this go round.

Can't wait to see! ...if you share
I've seen several different ppl do milk bath shots. Seen them? They look so beautiful! I wish I had a tub that didn't look like crap, cuz I think I'd have DH give it a go.
@kjd291 we did think about doing a milk bath photo shoot. Still an option but now I feel like it's being overdone and don't want to just follow a trend. They are beautiful though. We just bought a new tub but I don't think it will be installed by then as that whole bathroom is being remodeled. I would have to shoot it in a hotel and the hotel we got married at has a nice round stand alone tub. My last photos came out so perfect and got so many compliments so he has a lot to live up to.
@mcdonald-bailey I'm sure they will come out great!! It's special that he can partake in this way!
I have been SO bad at including my DH in this pregnancy. With DD I told him every little milestone, made him take weekly bump pics, showed him tons of articles, made him come to lots of appointments. This time around I definitely just update the bump instead of my husband. I didn't think he cared, but he mentioned he noticed this week. And wants to be included more. Oops!
@kjd291 don't feel bad. My whole family failed at taking the weekly bump pics. At first DH was taking them then we got behind a week so I had DD take them and I think we gave up when I was 20 wks and was behind 4 wks
I'm siltently raging at this person in another mom's group on FB. Look, I don't normally judge other parents on what they do with their children because to each their own (unless we're talking about abuse or something else henious), but someone posted about how she was in Target and she saw another mom with her baby's car seat on top of the cart, and because it's extremely dangerous to do that, she mentioned to the other woman that it wasn't a good idea and she wished someone would've told her when her kid was small that that's not a safe thing to do. The OP wasn't sure if she did the right thing by saying something and she was afraid she overstepped her bounds. Most of us were very encouraging and said things about how moms need to help other moms and she did the right thing and yada yada. But then someone had to come on there and say that she does it all the time and that everyone is paranoid these days and that we need to relax. Like, are you kidding?! Yes, there's a lot of helicopter parenting going on these days but this is not one of those things where someone is just being paranoid. I literally watched a baby strapped in a car seat fall off of a cart at Walmart and it was terrifying! This person said that she doesn't see anything wrong with continuing to put the car seat on the cart. She also thinks it's a good idea to make sure the car seat actually latches onto the cart because then it'll make it harder for someone to steal her baby. I'm sitting here like noooooooo! That is an awful idea! What she's talking about will grind down the latching mechanism on the car seat and in an accident the seat can be ejected from the base. After so many people basically let her know that she was being stupid, she suddenly disappeared from the conversation, but I hope for her baby's sake that she got the message.
I hate the phrase "it's like comparing apples and oranges" Those are literally 2 of the most comparable things! Both fruit, both round, both grow on trees, both start with a vowel, etc... now if someone said "it's like comparing apples and cat litter.." that I can get behind!

It would give me that message anytime my screen went to sleep, almost like it signed me out. I would have to close the app and rwopn it again.
