It's so nice to know that *FLAME FREE Friday Confessions" are actually not flame free. I do have to say that the organization of the board confuses me. I would think that if someone posted something in FFFC then it would be expected to not get flamed for that CONFESSION. If they wanted to voice an opinion and knew to expect to get flamed for it..I believe that would be posted in the unpopular opinions thread. Is that not how this works?
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion yes, but is the FFFC thread not the safe zone once a week to post those?

A confession is something you did: "I ate 14 Oreos for breakfast this morning."
"I faked MS to get out of sex."
An unpopular opinion is an opinion: "I think vaccines are a government conspiracy."
"I think sex reveal parties are stupid."
None of it is flame free. It's not a safe zone. It's even has an * at the top "not flame free."
**i just made up UOs and FFFC, I wish I had Oreos for bfast though haha

I think you can get flamed in any thread. I also think sometimes uo and ffc can overlap because although uo are supposed to be "unpopular" and ffc are supposed to be "confessions", there will be people who agree or disagree with either one, making uo not really "u" or fc not really flammable.
Plus let's be real, you don't really want to voice an uo that absolutely no one else agrees with or a ffc that would actually get you seriously flame. Well, I don't.
@kbrumbaugh26 I'm not 100% but the places I've read just mentioned not to have it done as it's then an open source of infection...I wouldn't worry too much about it, especially if you did it at home
@NurseK2016@kbrumbaugh26 IDGAF about most of the rules. Had a glass of wine last night at a wedding and at unpasteurized cheese today at a bridal shower.
LOL when people think "flame free" actually means they wont get flamed. I came from snarky ass days on the Snarky Brides board on TK. We're (fiesty) kittens over here.
@nda_roxybabe You mean "Advice From Brides"? Ha! I still remember when they renamed that board. Knot Annie really outdid herself with that one.

I’m a modern man, a man for the millennium. Digital and smoke free. A diversified multi-cultural, post-modern deconstruction that is anatomically and ecologically incorrect. I’ve been up linked and downloaded, I’ve been inputted and outsourced, I know the upside of downsizing, I know the downside of upgrading. I’m a high-tech low-life. A cutting edge, state-of-the-art bi-coastal multi-tasker and I can give you a gigabyte in a nanosecond! I’m new wave, but I’m old school and my inner child is outward bound. I’m a hot-wired, heat seeking, warm-hearted cool customer, voice activated and bio-degradable. I interface with my database, my database is in cyberspace, so I’m interactive, I’m hyperactive and from time to time I’m radioactive.
The other BMB's I've been apart of didn't have this nature of snark and the one's you guys have experienced did. I guess it's all about perception and interpretation. We will have to agree to disagree about the nature of the snark.

I have to agree. While I remember snark, I don't remember so many rules. I was able to post my own intro and not have to do it in a specific thread. Maybe I've just been gone to long and didn't realize a change was made. Also who created the rules anyway. From my knowledge there aren't volunteer mods anymore so was there a vote or something on the board rules? Who's really in charge? Why is it so bad if someone wants to create their own intro thread and ask a question? Why do we have to go a a specific thread and write it there where no one reads it?

I always remember snark, but I think the general feel of the boards changed a little after the Exodus of 2015. The days of the volunteer mods left then too when they revolted against the Bump Gods if I remember correctly. I could care less about the intros though and think people should just participate and give support.

This is the first I've heard of the "Exodus of 2015". Please share more.

These are all good questions. Maybe we should take a vote to see which way the majority of people prefer.
I honestly don't care about board organization. I care whether a drive-by pops in to tap our expertise instead of joining the community. You wouldn't walk up to a group of strangers and start asking them questions or telling them about your dreams without first introducing yourself and getting a feel for the group. It's etiquette.
As far as snark, if you don't like it, don't be snarky. If someone tells me I'm being dramatic or snarky, it's not going to make me change my ways. Just scroll by if it's not your thing.
@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot has an excellent point. I'm pretty sensitive by nature, so I usually choose not to be snarky. In my S13 bump board, there was a decent amount of snark, and I simply didn't participate. I did follow the basic etiquette rules though. Over three years later, these are some of my best friends. In a group of this size, we are going to have a ton of different personalities (it would be so boring if we didn't!). If you're not feeling one thread, post on a different one. The diversity of the group is what makes it fun and unique.

Some people voiced opinions and others disagreed. It wasn't nasty or flame level.

I am just now getting caught up on this thread. I was in July 14 BMB as well. Completely agree that this board is tame.
