Threatened MC - Hoping for the best

I have only been a lurker on this board, so forgive me that I haven’t done any intros or told you ladies anything about myself.  DH and I are stuck in the horrible limbo of wait-and-see until next week, and I don’t feel that I have many places to turn to as not many people know we are pregnant right now.

LMP 9/9/16, BFP 10/10/16

Light spotting on Sunday and Monday turned into active bleeding on Tuesday.  A panicked phone call to my OB at 5:45 am lead us to HCG testing and an emergency u/s later in the day.  Day of the u/s, I should have been 7w4d according to LMP.  Tech could see a sac, firmly attached to my uterus, but it is only measuring 4w3d, and too small to see anything meaningful.  Doctor has given us two scenarios: 1. We are ok, and baby is measuring small because I ovulated late (but unlikely given the date of BFP); 2. baby is not developing and this is MC.   

I have been advised to monitor my symptoms and schedule a follow-up u/s for next week.  The waiting is awful.  I feel like I’m pretending to be pregnant so they can tell me next week that we’re not.  Still having some bleeding on and off.  Last pregnancy ended in MC at 9w, so I’m not feeling particularly hopeful.  DH is trying to be hopeful for all of us.

Oh I am so incredibly sorry! How stressful! Prayers for just a late ovulation and baby is growing well in there!!

I'm sorry I know what it feels like to be in limbo and it's incredibly stressful. It helped me to take a couple days off work, go to walmart and clean them out of all their movies, and lay in bed watching them all to take my mind off of everything. Hoping for the best outcome for you.

I am so sorry. The waiting sucks, the whole thing sucks. I don't want to give you false hope and say everything's fine, but I really really hope you don't have to go through another loss.

I'm so sorry. Limbo is probably the worst part. I know with my first MC the waiting around trying to hold on the shreds to hope and then feeling a bit delusional for thinking it may work out but also feeling super guilty for "giving up on my baby" when I started to lose hope was just the worst. At least when I had a clear answer that it was a MC I could start the grieving process. It was completely heart breaking and soul crushing, of course, but for me it was better than being in limbo somehow. Maybe not for the first day or two but definitely after that.

I really hope everything works out OK. I know there have been a couple of other ladies here who were measuring behind, told it was probably a MC and they're back now with everything looking OK. @MKRLTX and @tosh24 were in a similar situation if I remember correctly. Correct me if I'm wrong ladies. I'm having horrible pregnancy brain today so I could be confused.

@NamelessAria is correct.  There was nothing  visible aside from the gestational sac and we were given very very low odds. I also didn't think my timing could be too far off. 9 days later we went back and there was baby measuring about 5 days behind and a strong heartbeat.  Waiting is the worst and I'm sorry you're going through this but don't give up yet!

Sorry you're going through this! The wait and see game is absolutely horrible, I hate that process. Did they do any b/w to measure your HCG Levels?? Hopefully they're rising and your dates are just off a bit. My 1st ultrasound this pregnancy I measured 2 full weeks behind- my levels matched up to the measurements, turns out even though I tracked I just had a super late O.

Ugh, this is exactly what was happening to us a few months ago. I read so many successful stories on here but each of us is different and I can't compare! Hang in there and will be sending positive thoughts your way. I like the suggestion to take time off if you can, watch movies, cook, read a book, do anything at all to stay distracted from the only thing that is on your mind I totally understand this awful torture of waiting...I also felt like I wasn't "really" preggers and that i should not show any signs of it. It's a hard time in your life but you will get thru it! Hoping for great news for you guys!
