It's been quite a struggle to find names both my husband and I like! Our DD's name (Charlotte Adah) came so easy, we were both surprised when we found out I was pregnant again and he vetoed every name off of my (around 30+) girls list.
Boy: William Harrison - He would go by Harrison- William is a generational name which I'm not big on doing but it's important to my husband
Girl: Ruby Jane or Ruby Eliza (nickname Ru)
ETA: were keeping the name a secret until after delivery- MIL has been suggesting "Stella" for a girl since I was pregnant with my Charlotte, and has suggested it so many times that I can't stand hearing it anymore, even though I've told her multiple times I wouldn't use it (hope not to offend anyone- it's a nice name but MIL has basically ruined it). If we're having another girl, we will have to put up with the Stella suggestions until baby Ruby/Harrison arrives! I think I'm stopping at two so once baby arrives hopefully she stops with the name suggestions lol.
Love both your names!
Thank you! It took a couple years to come up with a boy name we both loved so I'm happy our first was a girl! After he vetoed all of my girls names and wouldn't give any suggestions, I came across the name Ruby but he wasn't 100% sure he loved it. I suggested the nickname Ru and he fell in love with it
Its been nearly 3 years since we had our second child, so we have kept a running list or told each other when we find one we like. So far my husbands contributions are Ryder (I vetoed) and River (also vetoed).
My favorite boy is Arlo. I also like that the name Duncan is coming back (my late father).
Girl: Olivia, Charlotte, Elisabeth, Freya
We love old names.
Charlotte was on our short list for our daughter! And funny enough, my husband calls her Freya as a nickname!
Hubby is pretty sure that if it's a boy he wants to name him Ronan (Ronin?) and if it's a girl I'm currently leaning towards Lorelai. But it's still early enough that who knows where we'll land.
We have a girls name set: Atessa, nn Tess. It was our go-to when we thought our DS, now 20 months, could have been a girl.
Does anyone else have a hard time thinking boys names? I feel like last time we would have been happy with half a dozen girls names, and really struggled to find one boys name we both liked. Settled on Harper Thomas, but if number 2 is a boy think it's going to take 9 months!
I love names! Always have--when I was little my favorite part of getting new dolls was naming them. And it was always a first and middle and I always called them as such lol my daughters name is Charlotte Arline. This time around for a boy we are 100% sold on Logan Leif (middle name after grandfather) Girls name we are tossed between Madelyn (Maddie) Rae, Harper Rae or Alexa Rae
I love baby names and names in general. My Daughter is Makaia Kimberleigh-Rose, personally I am not worried about the names being super matchy at all, I love all of these names so much.
My lists so far are as follows:
Girls-
Penelope
Belle
Marleigh
Pearl
Violet
Aurelia
Madeline
Everleigh
Mia
Boys-
Jude
Maddox
Rhys
Elliot
Milo
Mathias
Bodhi
Benji

We have a Henry Ryan, Isaac Michael, and Rory Anthony. All middles are family. Henry we both loved and chose easily. Isaac we battled over and was basically something neither of us hated... we have some regrets over it. We struggled for Rory too and decided that I could have the ultimate decision for his name, with veto from Ryan, and then if it was a boy Ryan would have the ultimate choice over a theoretical fourth boy.
Our girl name name has been set for 6 years: Ruby Lynn.
I thought dh was set on Samuel, but he said he doesn't love it anymore. He said he's thinking something more off the beaten path. Our boy middle name is also Lynn. Ran out of male names to use lol. I don't think we will worry too much about it until we know he sex, hopefully early.
Im not sure if we will share he name publically or not. In the past we didn't, but we were also team green. And for 2&3 we didn't have a boy name till like 8+ months
My grandfather's name was Jack so we'd be naming our daughter after him. I just don't like Jack as a boy's name (sorry!) and my husband vetoed Jackson because he doesn't like how it sounds with our last name.
Haven't thought about this baby specifically but I have some names in the back of my head... and by that I mean I keep a running list of names I'm into regardless of pregnancy/ttc status. Not too many boys names left that feel like they could be right for us.
Girls: Wren (current obsession) Alice (family name, would go in middle if we used it) Sylvie Primrose Oona (a GP) Lola Simone Olive (probably can't use... my h has an Olivia in the family)
Boys: Jude Tate Reed Callan/Callum (I like Cal, not crazy about Calvin) Theo Silas Everett
We've already picked out our names! The girls name came easier for us than our boys.
Girl- Victoria Rose (middle name after my grandmother)
Boy- Wyatt Harrison (Harrison is my maiden name and I wanted to tie in my grandfather without using his 1st name- there are already a bunch of Roberts in my family)
We won't be keeping the names secret lol I get to excited and blurt things out!
My DH actually has always had baby names in mind. They've kind of grown on me. Our boys name is Theodore James or Oliver James. Our girls name is Veronica Grace or Elanor Grace. The middle names are my parents names
@moneypenny424 I bet your mom already knows baby to be Your little one will have a special guardian angel!
I was was very close with my Great Grandmother and right before I found out I was pregnant with DS I had the most real dream of her giving me a big hug with a smile and tears in her eyes. I think it was her way of letting me know.
For names... our DS is Liam Thomas. For a girl we like Aila Mae and for a boy we like Jake Finn.
I was going to make a names post, but was afraid it would be frowned upon since there's a name board... I'm still trying to figure out what is/isn't okay.
I love names ALL the time, but for some reason now that I'm pregnant I hardly like anything.
Our favorite girl name is Navy.. but we haven't gotten great reactions. We also like Ivy.
For boys... I don't know. I like Ezra and Declan, he likes Cody. We do both like Greyson.
Boy's name: we are struggling. We could only agree on one name with DS, Thomas Courtney, so now we are out of options. Daniel is the only one I semi like but it has been top 10 forever. I like Gustav for a middle name but DH isn't a fan.

We seemed to be set with names right away with our son; 2 names were picked out by our anatomy scan. My unused girl name has been semi dumped. Still plan on using the MN of Feliz if girl-which is my MN. I'm feeling like this time around, babe won't have a name until we find out the sex.
I was going to make a names post, but was afraid it would be frowned upon since there's a name board... I'm still trying to figure out what is/isn't okay.

Did you just post on the Baby Names board? I saw Navy on there recently and they weren't very kind, but they're picky. Go with what you like.

I did! Yeah... I can't say I expected them to love it, but they were pretty harsh about it. I don't necessarily care if everyone likes it, but I don't want to be one of those people who names her baby something and everyone says "that's terrible... who does that to a baby?" You know?

My coworker has a daughter Navy and she is precious so I think that's made it less strange for me to hear knowing someone named Navy. Team go with what you like. Everyone, even "normal" names gets judged in some capacity. As long as you like it, it doesn't matter what they think!
Is it awful I'm hoping for a girl just so we don't have to go with my DH's boy names? Our first was named Henry after my grandpa, so now DH wants to name after his grandpa Fred Ralph. Neither first or middle are names I like. I can't even come up with variations I like. And I feel awful because he was so close to his grandpa and he passed away while we were first dating.
I keep thinking of the girl name Harper. I've never really been into sibling names starting with the same letter, but Henry and Harper do sound nice together!

Hmm... Fred Ralph is tough! I knew a little Frederick that went by Fritz, which I thought was cute!
I'm obsessed with names! I've always had a girls name picked out, Lilian Rose (Lilian is my grandmother's middle name). I also like Jane Eleanor. For boys we've had a hard time agreeing. So for it's Kyle Walter or Harrison Nolan.
Lillian Chloe is DD's name. LOVE Lillian. It was my great grandma's name.

Love!! Last pregnancy Ruby Jane was at the top of my list, but my husband wasn't crazy about either. This time he's okay with Janelle (Jane+Nellie...Jane because I've never met a Jane I didn't love, and Nellie after my great-aunt)
We also like Harrison! I always like county names for boys it seems....Harrison, Grant, Clark. Lol.
Y'all have convinced me to semi start thinking of names, even though I said I wasn't going to until after the anatomy scan. Like I said, if a girl, my MN of Feliz will be there - A boy, my dad's MN of Wesley. Now just tossing around first names with those.
With our DS, I was sure his name was going to be Lukas. Long story short, he was born and was definitely not a Lukas. So, his name is Anders. (His middle name is my last name.) Before we knew Anders was a boy, my girl name was Lydia Rós (Lydia Rose) and now I'm not sure. The name needs to work in English (my family), Danish (my DH), and Icelandic (where we live.) So many names just don't work. Honestly, I'm just going to lurk and love y'alls names.
@loopstation104 I LOVE Anders. I wish we could use it fir a boy, but our last name starts with S, so first names that end with S just kind of run into it and it sounds bad. I also love Lydia but DH vetoed it for DD.

I definitely fell for the name Anders. Oddly, it wasn't on our radar at all. It just popped out in the hospital! Haha!
@MotherHen this is why we do what we like for first names and family names for middle names.
This will be our last, so dh wants to get as much as possible out of the name and wants to do a hyphenated middle name. I don't really like that idea...
I think we're going to wait until the NPT at 10 weeks to know if we're having a girl or boy before we start the name search. Our sons are Gavin and Gabe so we may try to stick with a "G" name.

Definitely big fans of old fashioned names.

@MotherHen How about using Grandpa's initials instead of the actual name? Kid gets their own identity and DH gets his constant reminder of beloved Grandpa?
