@Xstatic3333 oh no!!! Did you already notify your PCP or OB? Did you manage to get it out intact?
I just found it now and will call first thing in the AM. I'll call my PCP first-I know the OB will send me that way. It had actually dislodged itself and I found it when it was moving around, so it's intact. Again, it was a really weird spot. I have it in a bag so we can send it for testing.

Dr. Google says that this shouldn't be a risk to the baby since I'll be right on top of starting treatment early if needed.  Selfishly, I'm a little worried that since I can't take Doxycycline the treatment just won't be as fully effective for me as it normally would be. I'm also really mad at myself for letting this happen. I'm outdoorsy, but this has never happened before in my life, and I let it happen now?

  • @Xstatic3333 I can understand your frustration, but try to be easy on yourself. Crazy things happen, and hopefully everything will end up fine. Don't blame yourself.
The good news is you got it out intact and still have it so it can be sent for testing. Fingers crossed that all of this can be put behind you very soon!
  • Thanks @foxrosy. I appreciate it.

@PerraSucia that's crazy! So glad your dog was ok. I'd be pissed!
  • @Xstatic3333 at least she isn't a runner.

Also do you have to get tested for lyme now?
  • @Xstatic3333 please don't be so hard on yourself! Ticks happen, and they suck, there's no way you "let" this happen. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this right now, I'm glad you're getting it tested though!
  • I almost definitely will @PerraSucia. What I'm curious about is if they'll put me on antibiotics right away as a precaution. The test might not show anything for a few days. The #1 antibiotic to treat Lyme is category D, and the backup is amox, which I'm allergic to. There is a third. Just hoping it'll do the job if needed.
  • @Xstatic3333 oh no I'm sorry you have to deal with this right now! I'm glad you were able to get it intact for testing and fingers crossed everything will be ok
  • @Xstatic3333 sending positive vibes your way my friend! Keep us updated.

@PerraSucia WTAF indeed! I'd be pissed AF. Glad your pup is ok

  • @Xstatic3333 hopefully all turns out fine!

@perrasucia I don't think you meant it this way but that was the cutest story! My big dog would high tail it to squirreltown and the little one would just sit there in a daze. How did your dog get inside your neighbors house ? Did she find it amusing?
  • Oh my goodness @Xstatic3333! Having just dealt with the rabies scare myself, I am so so sorry you're dealing with this.  I'm so glad you have the tick intact and seem to be in the best possible scenario given the situation (which, it's a crappy situation, don't get me wrong...It just could be worse). Please keep us updated and as PP have said, don't be too hard on yourself. Trust you're not the first person to have this happen during pregnancy.
  •  Chances are you're totally fine. I waited on antibiotics until the tick test results for DD. It came bag negative so she didn't need anything. You can probably wait a few days before taking anything. Fingers crossed for you but I'm sure you're good :)

  • I was thinking the toush @spicyweiner. But didn't want to pry.
  • Dude, there are so many places I can't see anymore that I didn't want to embarrass her by asking if it were somewhere SUPER obvious.
  • Holy crap, I've missed a lot today.  Trying to catch up.

    @HeatSparks cute family!
@Xstatic3333 I hope you didn't contract anything from the tick!!
And I forgot who it was whose husband had an interview,  today. But it looks like he may get the job! FX for you both!!

  • @Xstatic3333 hopefully everything will be ok & nothing to worry about!
  • I can barely see my vag so it makes sense

  • Wow in all the excitement between the tick and falling asleep on the couch at nine I totally missed last night's drive by. That was epic!
Yea I totally missed it too. And I have never seen a post get shut down so quickly from the admin.
  • And @Xstatic3333 you are handling this possible Lyme disease issue like a stud.
( sorry for the extra post, it won't let me edit my origianl)
  • Man, what an action-packed evening I missed! Glad you're feeling calmer about the tick, @Xstatic3333. Fingers crossed that testing shows it to be Lyme-free!

  • Thanks @Mamallamallama. It's kind of an occupational hazard in my life. H has had it a couple of times (he's a forester) and has had ticks in much worse places than where mine was. I'm just pissed it happened while I'm pregnant. Patiently waiting for my PCP to open in 1 minute...
  • Guysssss.. my baby is three today!!! I have all the feels!!!! This is her last birthday where she will be the only one!   :'(  :p
Three is when sweet girl turned into the dreaded threenager.
    Good luck!
Holy cow yes. I was patting myself on the back in the spring because I had such a chill 2 year old. Come summer and her 3rd birthday...

ALLLLL the feels. And drama. Yeowch.

  • How many of you are going to be starting maternity leave before baby is born? I'm going to be working up until the day that I go into labor. I'm jealous of all of you that are able to use some of your leave early!
We get 6 weeks paid leave before our due date, but if the mom doesn't want to take all of the she doesn't have to. I plan on working until Jan 31st (DD Feb 15th). I figure this isn't my first rodeo, 2 weeks is plenty enough.

  • I'll be working till labor. With DD, I was almost 42 weeks before they finally went ahead and induced, so working till the end will help me stay occupied if this one decided she isn't ready to come out yet too. I work in an office in a hospital, so it's not a bad place for labor to start:)
Yes! I work in a research institute on the hospital campus, so the delivery room is, oh, 5 minutes' walk from my office. Whew!

  • +1 for working as long as I can
I left work the Friday before I was Induced on a Monday. I was miserable at that point with prodormal labour for 3+ weeks... and a stubborn baby who wouldn't go into full blown Labour on her own! (We had the potential for complications due to her blood cord so we chose the induction to avoid some of them).
This time I probably not returning to this job so... we will see how much will power I have to get here at 38 + weeks ;)
really hoping to avoid an induction- so money and distractions are a good thing!

    Goodness I missed a lot!

I am so sorry about the tick! They are awful this year. :(

  • I have never seen admin close a thread that fast! Especially since nothing was even removed... it was a pretty sudden thread closure.
Rainbow baby Dean is due 2/17/17!
