Infertility

2 different results using 2 differentry kits of clearblue advanced digital ovulation!?!?!

Hi everyone,

I need some advice because right now I am freaking out. I have been ttc with my husband for a few months now.

I used one clearblue advanced digital ovulation kit and I kept getting low fertility so after a while I gave up on testing and recently I tried again and got low a couple times and then FINALLY got 4 back to back readings of high fertility (blinking smiley face)(btw I also test my first urine in the morning)

This morning I got my first PEAK! So I was extremely excited because I have very irregular periods (5+ months) and I didn't think I ovulate. Well I came home later today and used a completely new kit of the same brand (clearblue advanced digital ovulation kit) and I retested and I got low fertility! :(

Can anyone tell me what's going on? Is it possible thay the new kit isn't calibrated to my unique cycle?? Please Help!

Thanks!

  • @M_Calza427 - Howdy! I think you might have better luck on one of the other TTGP boards. This one is focused on Infertility, and not very many women use OPKs with their IUI & IVF cycles. Good luck finding some answers!
    Me (31) & DH (31) - married 2008; TTC since 2013
SA = normal; HSG = clear; history of DVT/PE
    Diagnosed with unexplained infertility
    IUI #1- April '16 - BFN
    IUI #2 - May '16 - BFN
    IVF Fresh Xfer #1 (1 blastocyst) - Sept '16 - BFN
    FET #2 - 11/8/16 (2 blastocysts) - Beta on 11/18
    4 more blastocysts on ice

  • @M_Calza427 I use those kits, and you were correct to use that particular type in the morning. I suspect your issue stems from using the new kit in the evening. The instructions indicate that using them in the afternoon/evening can give false results (usually false positives, but perhaps a false low?).

FWIW A lot of people do use OPKs at the recommendation of their RE to help time IUI, so I do think it made sense to ask this question here.
