Contractions last night about 10 min apart for about 2 hours, but then they fizzled out overnight. Not very strong, but excited to know my body is practicing! I'm dilated to a 4 without really any work/pain, so I'm a little nervous about things happening very quickly before I realize!

Wow! That's awesome! How effaced are you? I'm the same way... my contractions last night were a little more painful and some woke me up, but no pattern yet. Needless to say, I had a rough night. But this morning I had my Bloody Show!! Not my mucous plug BUT my bloody show!! I was so exited. It actually looked a little grosser than MP. Took a pic of it. I will continue active all day in hopes things move along. They've scheduled my induction for the 7th but I am vigorously praying she comes on her own! Hopefully we get to meet our babies soon!
Weird question; I've been having fairly regular contractions for the past week or so (probably Braxton Hicks) but today they all seem to be concentrated on the right side. The doctor said a few weeks ago that the baby was definitely settled on my right side. Today feels different, they're not going away when I drink water or move around. So my question is, is it poss possible to have real contractions concentrated on one side?
That's great!! I think the effacement is the most important. I feel so calm but at the same time impatient and annoyed ha if that makes sense?? I'm just waiting for this contractions to get to me... I'm so ready!

I hope you have your babe soon. If not we may have birthday twins. I'm also scheduled for an induction on the 7th, and so far I think we'll be waiting until then. Who knows...
@Asick Not really. I had a bit of light bleeding, but haven't noticed too many contractions, which my doctor thinks is weird, as they usually go together. I had difficulty noticing early contractions with my first though, so maybe this is progress?
I'm been having BH, but this morning I had a contraction painful enough to wake me from sleep at 4:15. I had a few after that, but fell asleep eventually to be woken at 6 by another more painful one. With my second baby I had a few weeks of painful, timeable contractions, so I'm not counting on anything, but maybe things are starting!
This is my how not to go into labour post but this is my third kid and I've heard and now know labours can be different.. Due Nov 7.
1) Have Dr strip membranes Monday at 2-3 cm and basically say you'll probably bring a baby to your next appointment... Nope, nothing happened. (This basically put me into labour with my 2nd daughter) 2) Wake up yesterday morning (12:40 am) with timeable contractions only to go to the hospital (an hour drive) to have the contractions shut down totally at about noon.
By the way, 3-4 cm now and by this time with both my daughters I was in LABOUR! It's tough but kid is still happy on the inside and that's good, in many respects.

37 weeks tomorrow. Noticed an unusual amount of BH contractions this evening so I started timing them 2 hours ago and they were 7 mins apart for a min each, and then 6, in the next hour. I called L&D who said to take a Tylenol and a bath and see if they go away. Now they are 4 mins apart... the nurse is calling me at 10pm for an update, I have a feeling an NST is in my near future! But how can they go from 7 to 4 mins apart in 2ish hours??
I am almost certain this is a false alarm, an anomaly of some sort. I'm also leaking colostrum though which is weird, usually it only happens when my boobs get crushed.

@MollySm nope not painful! I'm 37 weeks as of today. Seems kinda early...
UPDATE: So they asked me to come in because by 10pm they were closer together, even after the Tylenol/bath. NST showed consistent contractions 4 mins apart and 1 min long, but my cervix is still long, high and closed. They didn't seem to know what to make of that, the nurse thought the doc would want to admit me to keep an eye on things, but she sent me home and told me to come back the next day if they were still happening.
Needless to say it took forever to fall asleep but of course I couldn't stay asleep, kept waking up with contractions over the last couple of hours (they push on my bladder hah) so i decided to get up and log a few.
They said if if they aren't painful, they aren't doing anything to my cervix, therefore I'm not in labour. BUT then they also said to go in if they keep up for another day. So I'm fairly confused.
I have timed 4 contractions now and they are about the same as they were at the hospital, 4 mins apart and 1 min long. ETA: and by 4, I meant 2-3 mins apart...
Since she's frank breech (and still is, I can still feel her head in it's usual spot) they would have to do a CS. I was scheduled for the 22nd, today is my first day of maternity leave off work, not going to lie, was really looking forward to a couple of weeks of downtime before she got here!
Im still heavily doubting i will be having a baby anytime soon without painful contractions or any other indicators... but who knows! I'll be paying close attention today, that's for sure. Oh and I'll be packing my hospital bag (oops).

@prettypalomino I'd definitely pack that bag just in case. It does seem weird to have them so consistent/timeable yet not be painful. I know my Dr. mentioned calling when they were tough to talk through but I figure there is subjectivity to that since we all have different pain tolerances
Keep us posted @prettypalamino and good luck! I hope they either subside or the little one decides to make its entrance soon. Limbo can be so frustrating.
Still nothing. Ive been pumping like crazy to see if nipple stimulation would help. Only thing its achieved is a nice freezer stash of colostrum (that I plan to bring to the hospital with us just in case). I also increased my EPO usage from 2 capsules to 4.... My inner thighs and pelvis are so sore that it hurts to walk, its excruciating. Hoping my OB will do a membrane sweep at my appt tomorrow, cause my body is so tired of pregnancy.

If they aren't doing anything, at least you don't have to live through them anymore, @PrettyPalomino. I had weeks of painful, timeable contractions with my second daughter. Everyone around me was freaking out (every 2-3 min, lasting 1-1.5 min, for like 10 hours a day), but they didn't lead to anything until I was well past my due date. Some of our bodies just don't follow the rules.
I've been woken up two different nights now by painful contractions. But they never last very long, so I'm settled in for another long run this time.
Water broke a couple hours ago,, at the hospital now just waiting to dial ate fully I am at 3 cm now. have had a few contractions, but none to intense.
Just had some blood tinged discharge and think I'm having a few contractions. Nothing timeable or intense. But it's more than yesterday. Hoping it happens today or tomorrow. I have an appt today so we'll see what my OB says!

@MaMaBear1323 How much colostrum do you get from each pump, and how much are you taking with you to the hospital? I only pump once a day and only get an ounce each time. I should pump more, but It just hurts so bad

@dreamcatch-her I get about an ounce as well if I only do it once a day. I try to do it 3 times a day. It's supposed to help ripen your cervix even if it doesnt start labor. I plan to bring a few ounces with me initially, starting with the first bit I pumped. When DD was born, she was in the NICU and unable to nurse. They started giving her formula through her Ng tube before I could say anything. I was so upset. So this time I want to avoid that if possible.

@carlatron Ditto. I just went for a long walk and all I could think about was how badly I needed to pee. I did have some timeable BH on Saturday but that went no where.
I feel tricked. I keep having little signs, and then nothing. I'll feel like something is getting started, and then I wake up in the morning a little disappointed. Trying to enjoy the time I have left, but patience is not my strong suit!
Had a bunch of contractions last night and started losing small pieces of my mucus plug this morning. I lost my mucus plug the day I went into labor with DS. I guess we wait and see what happens.
So my urine collection for today's appointment also caught the mucus plug (or parts of it - little gross, not going to lie)... still don't think I'm going into labor anytime soon, but we'll see.
@leighry I was thinking about it after and I think it may have happened simply because of my internal exam yesterday. It was such a small piece, not like it was with my ds when the whole thing came out at once. Thank you I'm hoping labor starts soon for you as well !
I have had on and off BH and maybe a couple contractions. I mostly get them in the evenings. I had already started dropping 2 weeks ago and was 1.5 cm and 50% effaced, with the baby still high. Between yesterday and today I have definitely dropped even more (i'm pretty sure her head is further in my pelvis now). I have my 38 week appointment today and she will be checking to see if I have progressed any. I still do not think I am making it to my due date, but we will see. I have a lot of discharge but I have not lost my mucus plug yet.
Started getting some pretty uncomfortable bh at about 6:30 tonight while at a parent meeting at my son's school. I started timing them at 7:15 when I got home and my back started hurting. It's 9:15 now and they're still timeable, 4ish mins apart and about a min long but still not unbearable. Only occasionally so intense (not painful) that I need to breath heavily. We will see where this goes, if anywhere.
I had BH/light contractions all day. This evening they have progressed to being more painful, and timeable. But still not painful enough that I am sure this is it. Especially because I was overdue with my first 2 daughters, and am only 38w 4d. Going to take a shower to see if that impacts things.
38+2. I doubled my progression to 3 cm from 2 weeks ago. 70% effaced. Lost some of my mucus plug this morning. No contractions yet. I hope I go into labor by Monday so I don't have to go back to work!
