@Spicyweiner we normally just do a family party at our house, but with all the siblings getting married and having their own kids we end up with around 30 people here. We've always done a party of some sort, if we didn't do one it would cause family ruckus and I think DD will wonder why she didn't get a "regular" party. but if we end up doing it early, we will do something special just for her on her actual bday.
    Ah, gotcha!

  • Congratulations @foxyroxy! That's a huge accomplishment !!

@WinchesterGirl Yes, if you've always done a party for your daughter, it's even more important that you keep the tradition and do one now.  Otherwise, (I don't know how old your daughter is) you daughter might blame the baby for lack of bday party and that's not good start for her to adjust to the baby..

  • Get it, girl! @foxrosy
    Thank you my flavored ween!

    Way to go @foxrosy !!!
  • You tagged the wrong person @Gretchypoo
  • @Gretchypoo it's so funny you tagged me as foxroxy. I've gotten called Roxy mistakenly all my life, but it's not my name.
  • Holy shit! What? I didn't know we had @foxyroxy and @foxrosy. Is roxy part of our BMB, too?

Long story of ordering pizza and talking about school in a small town. On Thursday my H wanted to get Pizza. Again. (Seriously the pizza shop employees see me more than my own family) So I normally go pick it up. While I was in there the girl behind the counter asked if she could ask me a weird question. I said sure. She asked if I have kids that go to a specific school in our area. I said yes, my daughter is a 2nd grader there. She tells me she saw me in the line for pick up/drop off and thought it was me. No big deal...then she asked if either of my kids have ever had a specific teacher. Yes, my daughter did last year. This is the teacher that I really didn't like at all. So she asked me if I ever felt frustrated with her. I feel bad talking about people especially when everybody out here knows everybody else or is related but I went ahead and told her my mostly negative experience, but including that my daughter learned a lot in there and made great improvement. Ok now I get the pizza home and my husband was eating and found a long dark hair in it. (With out a doubt the girl behind the counter. She was the only one in there at that time) Super gross but it happens. I have hair in my food at home all the time even when I pull it back. But it's still gross. So I received a follow up survey and I completed it. I gave good scores because we always enjoy the food and service but I did mention the hair. I really thought these surveys just went to a bigger corporate email or something and that the comments were only read if there was a negative experience. So today I check my email and was horrified when I read this. I will undoubtedly see this girl again very soon, due to my husbands love of pizza.  :|

  • @kswiger06 that's a little creepy! I don't know whether to be more concerned about her weird offer to have you call her for a conversation or how obvious the transition from default Papa John's email to her personal message is because of her lackluster spelling and grammar.

  • @LivingLaVidaGinger I know!! I was like whaaaat? This is weird! I'm trying to chalk it up to being in such a small town, but it's weird in my book.

@kswiger06 I know those small town feels. The people at the Chinese restaurant see me walk in the door and call my usual order out to me because they just know. It has its perks and it has its weird "I just ran into my least favorite hs teacher at Walmart...and she remembers me" moments too. Lol

  • @kswiger06 That's super weird. And girlfriend  needs learn how to spell :) If you feel uncomfortable next time you go in, do what I do- way your husband wrote the email. Works every time!!
  • Lol that's funny! @LivingLaVidaGinger I in general love being in a small town, but sometimes it can clearly have its odd moments :)

  • @kswiger06 I believe those two things to be unrelated. Like there was a hair on accident because most pizza places are disgusting (I had a lot of friends who worked at a pizza place in HS) and she is probably having issues with that teacher and was thanking you for making her feel not insane over issues with the same teacher?
  • Congrats @foxrosy that is a huge accomplishment!
Rainbow baby Dean is due 2/17/17!
  • Remind me to never, ever try to understand insurance billing again.

  • @Spicyweiner I don't even try. My mom worked in insurance for 18 years, so if I have a question or can't figure it out, she explains it to me.

Oh yeah, the hair was already in the pizza when I talked to her about the teacher, I just thought it was very odd that she mentioned the teacher conversation in the reply email to the survey... I was surprised that they actually reply directly to the surveys and that she mentioned a non Pizza related conversation. It just left me feeling weird about the whole thing. And I had no clue the girl I was talking to is the general manager there lol

That's part of what I do for a living and it's terribly confusing. Some of the reps I have to talk to don't even know why they do the things they do.
  • @Spicyweiner you are not alone.  Barely anyone understands it. I'm in the field, but that's the only reason why I do. Even then, there's so much new crap they throw at you, you have to research it.  Btw, I've explained to my husband about five times now, how the Healthcare system works here.....he still doesn't get it and will ask me the same questions a few days later.

  • Congrats @foxrosy!

  • So...I could use T&Ps. You may remember this adorable litter of kittens a barn cat had a few weeks ago. Last weekend one of the kittens bit me and drew blood. She's always been a little shy, so we didn't think too much of it. Following advice though, we quarantined her and decided to observe her for 10 days. Being so young (7 weeks) her risk of having rabies is low, but no need to ignore the possibility. Well her muscle coordination and strength deteriorated over the week and she died last night. She never showed any classic rabies symptoms and kept her appetite until the last few hours. She likely wouldn't have made it even to last night had DH not tended to her because her coordination was so bad. She's getting rabies tested now and we'll know Monday whether she's positive.
