GTKY--Old school, M.A.S.H. style

Re: GTKY--Old school, M.A.S.H. style

  • 1. We bought our house 2 years ago with every intention of making it our forever home. We are open to moving in the future when our kids are older but we didn't want to buy something that we weren't absolutely happy with living the rest of our lives in, in case that ends up happening.

    2. Married and he is just what I expected in some ways and not at all in others but he is an amazing man.

    3. Four. We're on #3 and really hoping this one works out.

    4. I drive a Honda
Odyssey, which we just bought recently in preparation for more kids!

  • 1.  House and I really like it!  I am not in love with it as it needs to sprucing up on the inside but that will come with time.  We will most likely live here for several more years.

    2.  Married and he's exactly the type of man I envisioned as the father of my kids.  He's so involved and helpful with the kids and would do anything to make me happy.

    3.  I always thought 3 kids max and I am pretty sure we are done after this one but I am waiting for that feeling women talk about about just knowing their family is complete.  I am not sure I feel that way yet but baby obviously isn't here ;)

    4.  I have a Honda Pilot with a third row.  When we bought it a year ago we had in mind we were eventually going to have a third child and would need to extra room.

  • 1. We're currently in a town home, but hoping to buy a real house before this baby arrives! Our current place is okay, but we have a horrible neighbor. Just awful. I'm done sharing walls with strangers.

    2. Married- definitely not someone I could've predicted, but now I couldn't imagine anyone better :)

    3. We had always agreed on 2 kids, but the other day, DH brought up the possibility of more. His reasoning: "What if we really like our 2nd kid too?" Honey, I don't think the reason people stop having kids is that they have a dud.

    4. I currently drive a Jetta, but like @WombThereItIs, she's part of the diesel scandal. We'll probably sell it back and get something that's better in the snow.

  • 1) We recently bought a condo.  It's still a work in progress!  So much needs to be done still.  Definitely not our forever home but good for a starter place for us.

    2) Married- I never really thought about what the man I would marry would be like so I don't know!  He's seven years older than me so that I didn't expect.

    3) I always wanted four kids, but that was before I knew how hard it would be for me to get pregnant. (and stay that way) So I'm not sure what the future holds for us.

    4) I have a super ting car, it's a Chevy Spark.  I like it a lot but I feel like I'll probably need something bigger.  A full size stroller won't even fit in the back!
  • 1. We live in a house on 6 acres. Probably our forever home, barring some unforseen circumstance. I absolutely love it here. We have our own garden and are working on an orchard. Would eventually like a couple goats, too. And my dog loves that she has nearly an acre fenced-in to run around in. The house has lots of projects we're working on, but that's probably true of most homes. Neighbors are great, but you can't see them from the house...love that, too!

    2. Married. I honestly don't know if he's what I expected. I never had a certain man in mind. He's definitely my best friend, though.

    3. I want 3. He's adamant about 2. We'll see. :)

    4. I drive a Honda Fit. It's small, but has sooo much interior space. It's been great for transporting a lot of stuff and a dog, so I imagine it will be great for kids, too. Husband drives a truck - Chevy Colorado.
  • 1. Apartment until our new home is complete in January and it will not be our forever since we will probably outgrow it soon.

    2. My husband is exactly what I was looking for. Someone who is confident, mature, and knows what he wants. We've been together for almost 9 years and married for 4 years.

    3. We talked about having 2 kids unless one of us start making really good money and then we might consider 3. But with everything that I have gone through, I've been thinking about just 1.

    4. I drive a Ford Edge and my hubby drives a Ford Fusion.
  • 1. M.A.S.H.: Mansion, Apartment, Shack, or House--where are you living now? Do you love it? Hate it? In your "forever house" or something in between? I live in a house. It's a small house but i'm so thankful and excited over having a backyard lol. I lived in apartments for the last 5 years.

    2. Partner: Are you married? Engaged? Dating? Is your partner the type of person you expected to be starting a family with? We're not married yet though I wish we were. And yes, absolutely. He is the most hard working, resposible and loving person I know.

    3. How many kids do you want? 3? Maybe more...

    4. What type of car do you drive? I drive a Nissan Sentra
  • 1. Apartment. Definitely not our forever home. Especially since my neighbors woke me up at 1 am because they were fighting. Momma is cranky.

    2. Married for 8 and a half years now :)

    3. We're done after this one. Assuming it's just one in there, 3 kids.

    4. We drive a white Dodge Ram 4x4 crew cab, named Hank. He's my husbands only boy (unless this babe has outdoor plumbing)
  • @SparkySunDevil - I love that you named your car! I don't have a car, but my sister always names her cars. Her current one is a nissan versa named Morris.
  • 1. M.A.S.H.: Mansion, Apartment, Shack, or House--where are you living now? Do you love it? Hate it? In your "forever house" or something in between? House. I love it becuase it's our home. I would love something newer and bigger but right now it isn't realistic financially.
    2. Partner: Are you married? Engaged? Dating? Is your partner the type of person you expected to be starting a family with? Been togehter 10 years on the 18th, not married though. NOT AT ALL hahaha! he is basically the opposite of what I originally had in mind, he was supposed to be a fling, a phase haha
    3. How many kids do you want? I have no idea. I always said 4, then I was pretty content after 3, now I'm back to 4 (having number 4), and I don't know if I'll feel done. Unfortunately I might not be able to have more after this due to medical issues but time will tell
    4. What type of car do you drive? Minivan baby!!

My husbands whole family names their cars haha. Something his sister started and we've all just kind of followed along. My MIL's is a golden brown Ford pickup named Larry (for Larry Fitzgerald, her favorite football player.) My SIL has Chien Po (from Mulan) and Lucy.
  • 1. M.A.S.H.:
Right now we live in an apartment, but in 2 months we will be in our forever house!

    2. Partner:
Married. H is the perfect guy for me. He has all the qualities I wanted in a husband. We talked about our future kids before we were even engaged. I know he's going to be a great dad.

    3. How many kids do you want?
We both want 4 kids. We both come from big families so the more the merrier.

    4. What type of car do you drive?
I drive a Ford. It's a decent car with a few minor problems. I had hoped we could get a new car for H before this baby arrives, but now I don't know if that will be possible.
  • M.A.S.H...

    1. M.A.S.H.: Mansion, Apartment, Shack, or House--where are you living now? I bought my house 3 years ago. I love it, but it's just a starter house. Someday, we want something a little bigger. Someday is at least 5 years away. Before that, I lived in a teeny tiny apartment. The apartment sucked but my rent was dirt cheap.
    2. Partner: We got married two years ago and have been together for 8 years. He's the type I always hoped to marry and have kids with.
    3. How many kids do you want? 2 or 3
    4. What type of car do you drive? A practical 4 year old Kia sedan. I've had it for 2 years and was able to pay it off early. (ETA: I made paying it off sound easy. Actually, I picked up a second job tutoring, and barely bought anything fun for a year and a half.)
  • 1. House. We bought in 2011. I don't think it was intended to be our forever house. We've looked casually, but can't find anything to really temp us to move. We're on track to pay it off next year.  No mortgage payments will be nice so it may turn into our forever home.

    2. Married for 5 years. DH is a wonderful husband and father. He works hard and is in the Nat'l Guard. I wish we had more family time bc weekends are hectic between his civilian job's call requirements and army drill weekends.

    3. I always wanted 2. After we had DS, I started thinking 3 wouldn't be too bad. DH only wants 2.

    4. I drive a Toyota RAV4.
