@BumpasaurusRex I guess I'm in the minority, but I actually like the way uncircumcised looks to what a circumcised peen looks like. Uncircumcised has a nice little sleeve it can hide in so I don't have to see it until I'm ready Plus, and this may be TMI and also person specific, but DH's foreskin is soooo freaking soft. I love it.

I prefer uncirc'd as well. When it's erect it smooths out beautifully and it's all flesh colored instead of two toned and mushroom-looking. Foreskin aids in friction too, so lube doesn't need to be used like for handjobs
@PerraSucia you have great stories. Yes, please share this one about the fat baby. Your husband's story, that's just so awesome....genie outfit?! So cute!
@BumpasaurusRex I double dare you to Google it and then report back. For science.

Maybe people prefer the look of circumsised because it's what they're used to? If we all saw uncirc'd more maybe we'd have different opinions.
My DH had to be circumcised at age 30 because the foreskin was attached in a way that made sex without a condom painful. It was an incredibly painful and awful thing to go through for both of us. He's so much happier now. So the decision to circ our now 3 year old son was a no brainer.

lol my first serious bf wasn't circ and I remember the first time we fooled around I was so confused. He was my first everything so I had no clue except for porn I'd seen. I honestly didn't know some men weren't circumcised and I definitely wasn't expecting it from him. It didn't bother me though, and we were together for years. It wasn't until months after we fooled around that he said something about how he was self conscious of it.
One of my exes was uncircumcised and I didn't think it was a problem at all. Didn't think it looked weird at all. The sex was amazing.
If it was up to me I probably wouldn't have had it done to my DS, but H had has own issues surrounding this later in his life and really wanted him to be so I said fine. Unfortunately, even though we were diligent about everything afterwards, DS skin still kept sticking together so he had to get it pulled back apart by the pediatrician several times after getting it done. He hasn't had any issues since he was a baby, but I felt so bad for my little guy back then.
We circed DS and will be doing the same for LO. Fair warning, I cried when with brought me back my tiny, crying newborn with his bloody nub. And I totally felt like a jerk parent. But I wouldn't want to do one and not the other.
So when little guys are super fat it basically makes their wieners into belly buttons. They tell you to put vasoline on the end for two weeks but if you have a super fat kid you have to do it for way longer because when it's all squished like that it wants to readhere so bad. Like we pulled it back every time we changed him and had multiple instances where we had to basically pull his skin apart. It was horrifying.

Yeah this. That's pretty much what happened with our son too except he wasn't even a mega chub he was actually a long and lean type baby, but this was still happening. I remember Vaseline quickly becoming a must have all the time.

Yes! I pulled my son's remaining skin back and cleaned around it to prevent infections for literally 2.5 years... like once a day until he was potty trained. He still got an infection once. And now I pull the skin back and clean it when I give him a bath. He might have a little more skin left than your average circ'd boy.

I am team girl for the second time so I really have not had to make a decision about this.. but I have to say I am surprised at the responses. My last bmb was super anti-circ for the most part. It is interesting to see the other perspective!
We are having a girl so not something that needs considered. It is also something that isnt common in Ireland unless for specific religious reasons (vast majority of the population are Christian of some form or another) but after reading the thread had a chat about it with my husband last night. He's a dr & i was curious on his thoughts on the medical benefits of it as i didnt really know anything about it. Following our conversation, it still wouldnt be something that we would consider if we were to have a son.
Thanks for all the thoughtful responses. Reading all your posts throughout yesterday really felt beneficial to me. Its really nice to be able to read varying opinions on the topic. It's interesting to see how much variety there is in everyone's decision and also the differences in why you or your husbands made your decisions.
For DS his circ healed really well. I'd layer on Vaseline and then put a nonstick gauze square between the Vaseline and the diaper so no fuzzys would adhere.
Thankfully we we didn't have any issues, but I do remember after it healed one day when I went to change him his peen was hiding! I freaked out thinking he was having a reaction or something and called my husband into the room. I frantically started asking him what was wrong and he looked at me, laughed and said,"he's cold". He then pushed it out from hiding and finished changing his diaper. I laughed so hard I cried.
I have been going back and forth, and actually stressing about this. My 4yo son is circumcised, because as a 1st time mom, I just trusted everyone in the hospital who said we should/it's no big deal etc. Now, having read/heard so much more information and just being older (maybe a teeny bit wiser lol) I kind of don't want to do it for this one. However, my concern is that having two boys, it may cause insecurity/weirdness for one or both of them when they realize they are different down there. I haven't talked much with my H about it yet, as he tends to avoid these types of convos at all costs, but I have the feeling he will be very pro-circumcision.
I brought this up with DH last night b/c we're team green and I couldn't remember if we'd ever agreed on a decision in case of a boy. I don't really have much of an opinion and he's for it. His thinking was 'that's the type I know how to take care of' and we both think that if the benefits outweigh the risks, it make sense. So, that was that.

I didn't know they could hide. I probably would have freaked out too! I feel so unprepared to be a boy mom! My SIL has a baby boy though and my MIL lives really close and obviously she raised DH just fine so hopefully they can help me if DH isn't around.
Random fact that I doubt anyone here wants to know but hamster peens are typically kind of hidden. One time one of my hamsters was washing himself in my lap and I saw it and got really freaked out until I realized what it was.

@BumpasaurusRex with girls, feces can end up in the vagina and it can be challenging to get it all cleaned up. You also have to be careful to only wipe downwards.
I'm not a girl mom yet but I'm just going off what my SIL told me.

That was my thought process- thinking about UTIs. Normally the poo doesn't get up in the ball wrinkles lol but there have been a few that have required some extra wipes!
@marriedhamstermom lol it was terrifying for that split second. Good thing with boys, is that the wiping away poo isn't as stressful as with girls.
Really? I always thought it'd be easier wiping poo away with a girl.
Poo gets in all the crevices around the balls. And little ball wrinkles.
My nephew is 4 months younger than DD and I found changing his diapers so much more challenging! OMGoodness testicles have so many crevices! Since we are team blue I am thankful to have had that practice with him.

DH and I have had the c talk a few times. Now we are team blue, we really have to make a decision at some point. He is cut and I think ideally would like the baby to be as well, but I am anti circ, so we shall see.

I would say this is very accurate. I have 1 of each and it seemed like DD always had poo making its way up front and getting in bad places. Once you get the hang of wiping down the balls it's not too bad at all. But I did find that the first few diaper changes for my son were wayyyy harder. That tar like poo that comes out first was a major PITA to clean off him
DH is not circumsized and says it is harder to clean and sucks when he has to use the rest room quick, as he says you have to pull the skin back. He said it's a huge pain in his ars and he wishes his parents had circumsized him. So, we decided to circumsize our boys because he absolutely hates it. It's also more dangerous and painful the longer you wait. That's what I've been told by two men that had it done in adulthood.
