Having second thoughts and due in 3 weeks!

DH and I were 100% sold on the name Lucy Marie for our baby girl due in a few weeks. Recently, we have heard of 4 or 5 new babies or toddlers with the name Lucy. Now I'm worried it's getting too popular. Any suggestions??

We don't like weird or trendy, but we also don't want a name overly used. Marie is definitely the middle name. TIA!!

I think Lucy is still a great name..others might be Louise, Ruby, Daisy, or Ivy

Lucy is great. Like any big commitment once you make a decision you instantly become more aware of it. For example you buy a blue Toyota Camry and rarely see them then you suddenly see them every block. You pick a name then you hear it everywhere. Lucy has gained some popularity but it's not trendy it's classic.

I like Lucy only as a nn for Lucille.  Love Lucille Marie--in fact, we have one in our family--she's 96 years old!

This seems like a case of confirmation bias. 

Lucy (and Lucille) are growing in popularity,  but neither are particularly spiking.  

Take a few days, look at the numbers nationally and at a state level, go from there.

In my area, Lucy is very common.

However, it's still a great name and if you love it, go for it.

I can honestly say I don't know 1 Lucy. My kids never had a Lucy in their class. I do think it's a cute name. Agree, you do become more aware of it now that you chose it.

Lucy used to be popular and it's coming around again but I still don't think it's overly popular / trendy
