Progesterone questions

For those of you who have been prescribed progesterone supplements, did you have any side effects? 

Just started mine tonight- the suppositories- twice a day and I'm wondering what to expect if anything. Thanks, all- Your continued support is much appreciated!

I'm on crinone inserts 2 x a day for progesterone. I did IVF/FET though, so not supplemented for low progesterone, but more to simulate the pregnancy process that would otherwise occur naturally. My only "side effects" have been an irritable cervix that bleeds a little if messed with. Other than that, I suspect everything else I feel is just pregnancy oriented, but maybe a little magnified?

I've been on suppositories since week 4. I'm now 10 weeks. The only side effect I've noticed is discharge from some leaking out.

Discharge like someone said, and i always bloat when im taking it. Be prepared for that

I'm so bloated @AprilV421 and it seemed to get worse after I started it but I didn't know if it was just early pregnancy stuff or what! At times I literally look how I did at 16 weeks last time- ufff. But we do whatever we have to do for these little babes so bring on the bloat!

Yup I wear bigger clothing, not so tight fitting because I know people will automatically ask if Im pregnant because how much I bloat. My hubby will always comment it like wow and I just glare like I wouldnt say anything else if I were you. Lol but yes bring it all on!!

The discharge is a nasty one but I have been using panty liners and they are a godsend!

yuck!! And btw: love your wedding shoe picture!! I wore 4 in red heels on my wedding day!

Lol, thanks @1inthehopper. It's one of my fave pics too... all the girls wore ivory and champagne dresses and then I told them to pick their favourite shoes and I matched their flowers to them! :P

just wondering how early should one take progesterone supplements? I just found out and I have doctors appointment tomorrow...

My dr called in a prescription for me as soon as I told them I got a positive test. So I started them at exactly 4wks

My dr prescribed at 4w2d. I had had several blood draws before that checking hcg but it wasn't until the 3rd or 4th draw progesterone was checked

Just as an update, I went to the doctor today, everything is looking good for 4weeks only!! And he gave me progesterone suppositories.  They do not sound fun to use! LOL

So happy to hear all was well @yolandamunoz ! Mine are twice a day- not convenient and messy- I got good advice to wear a pad at all times. TMI but you just feel leaky all day. The other side effect I've had is major bloating and some stomach pain. But whatever we have to do, right?!

You're right @1inthehopper they feel messy, I'm also using pads. I just wonder what's gonna happen when I leave the house...
