@kiki75 @adirat I totally get where you’re coming from in being frustrated about a cycle tracker as a gift after years of TTC… if I was TTC for a year plus I would be the first to get aggravated with an unthoughtful “try this shot in the dark” type of gift, especially if it was from a close relative.

What I love about @a_mccarthy's bump on this post is that it both a zombie bump and an infomercial. Sadly there are no gifs that are on the nose for zombie infomercials, so imagine kind of a melding of the below:

@kiki75 Oh yeah definitely spam. I'm somewhat intrigued by the marketing strategy here. I can't think of another product that would include in their marketing strategy "tell people their feelings are wrong." I'm trying to imagine what would happen if I tried that in my job... "I hear you but I need to inform you that your feelings are wrong. Just read these other product reviews of people who have babies and you don't!"

Ok, maybe I shouldn't engage but... @a_mccarthy you used esophageal probes for comparison? So I'm guessing you either 1. validated with intubated patients in the ICU or 2. did the validation on animals in the lab? I have serious scientific and ethical quandaries, not to mention how generalizable your data might be, about both but I'm curious which one you used.

Validated in the OR - 80 adults undergoing upper abdominal surgery. Pairs of axillary and reference distal esophageal temperatures were compared and summarized using linear regression and repeated-measured Bland and Altman methods. 

There were 3,339 sets of paired temperatures. Axillary and esophageal temperatures were similar, with a mean difference (esophageal minus axillary) of only 0.14°C ± 0.26°C (standard deviation)

There's nothing unethical about it - we didn't just intubate random people and collect data @fishsticks-n-custard @adirat they were already undergoing surgery and the esophageal probes would have been used either way because that's what is used most of the time in the OR for patients receiving general anesthesia.

Sorry to have offended any of you, again, was NOT trying to take up issue with what you said. I understand the feelings of inadequacy that come along with fertility issues and the strain it puts on relationships etc. etc. I also understand the support you need in situations like this from close friends and family, my whole life revolves around helping women with fertility issues. There's plenty of women who aren't active on forums like this one that have undergone IVF treatments, IUI, and other extremely expensive treatment only to find out that they weren't fertile or that it was just a timing issue. I know this because i've heard it firsthand from our users. And also like i said before its not a one size fits all solution. You're right if you're infertile, you're infertile. However, it is a $150 spend in comparison to $10k plus in treatments that you'll receive from IVF doctors. Even if cycle trackers don't instantly help you get pregnant, accurate ones help you pinpoint what's going on and offer clinical decision support. Data helps make decisions... I wish you all the best in your efforts to get pregnant, I really do. And I was not trying to Spam you or market my product. Was simply trying to help because there's other people in the world that have been in your same situation that have told me how we helped. And I've heard the stories and I've been there to relate to them, not bash them for trying to reach out.

Here's the thing, if a woman is under 35 she and her partner have to try for 12 months ttgp before getting referred to an RE unless there is a known issue (like not ovulating). If over 35 it's 6 months. In either case that's quite a while to get used to temping, tracking, and timing BD. Some couples even just elect to BD EOD for extended periods just so that they don't miss FW. 

No one wants to move to expensive, emotionally and physically draining fertility treatments WITHOUT HAVING FIRST TRIED REALLY F-ING HARD TO HAVE A BABY "NATURALLY." 

Your underlying assumption above that women would try IVF before figuring out WTF their cycle is doing is really insulting. Like, oops, some of you out there just haven't figured out how to have intercourse on the right days! NO.

Not trying to start a fight, and I can't speak for everyone, but I for one have never felt inadequate for not getting KU as of yet.  So thanks for that one.  Yeah, maybe your app or the Ava might help some people, but usually these products don't take into account PCOS, long cycles, medicated cycles, etc.  

ETA: and frankly whether you're trying to or not you ARE spamming your product.

You are so freaking far out of line, you don't even know where the line is. Your product is not going to do anything that an $8 Mabis and a pack of Wondfo OPKs can't do. If IVF is needed, it's not going to take the place of that. Can it give people's partners sperm? Can it fix hyperprolactinemia? How about egg quality? DOR? Can it fix PCOS? How about blocked tubes? Does it clear them??? Nope!!! It doesn't actually DO anything other than tell you if/when you ovulated. Which everyone here has down pat for a fraction of the price. It's an overpriced product that preys on people desperate to get pregnant.

This is false advertising at it's absolute finest. And stupid. Mind numbingly stupid. Yes. Go on ahead and be crappy to the IF community. It's going to win you a lot of customers. You'd better believe that people will be contacting your company as well as the attorney general regarding your bogus claim that your product is any substitution for IVF. 

And quit lying. You were absolutely trying to market your product. If you weren't, you wouldn't have included the name and links. Also, as far as quit lying, no doctor will have you start treatment without first ensuring that it wasn't a methodology issue. People have books and the internet at their fingertips. There's plenty of information out there. I will make sure to let my RE know about this extremely important game-changing invention. Weirdly, he did not think my problem was being too dumb to figure out when I was ovulating.

@zamora_spin Gah! The time and money we could have saved! It certainly wasn't my elevated prolactin, low AMH, and H's borderline low in every value semen. I just needed to hop a plane to Chicago to jump his bones on O day! Wait. I totally did that. Still didn't get pregnant. 

@adirat True. Anyone from Ava want to pop by? How about Yono? Clear Blue? I'd love to see a good old fashioned street fight amongst them.
