9/9--Flame Free Friday Confession (FFFC)

Shall we get this Friday party started? Flame away, my hormonally-charged new friends! (I'll start in the comments)...

  • Listening to my sister in law drone on and on about her current pregnancy with twins is slowly killing me. I have a hard time expressing sympathy for her daily "struggles" that aren't really struggles that are about to get much worse..."woe is me...I only slept for 7 hours last night because I kept waking up from weird dreams"..."oh, that really sucks, I'm sorry!", is my reply...what I want to say is "get used to it...you've got TWINS coming who will rob you of sleep and sanity in 3 months...enjoy it now!" This is one of MANY daily trivial examples.

  • I had chik fil-a mini chicken biscuits for breakfast and 4Rivers bbq for lunch.  And will probably have a cupcake in a few hours....no shame in my game, lol.

  • I got myself a celebratory snickerdoodle cookie and I didn't feel bad shoving it into my mouth. DELICIOUS!

  • I had a donut yesterday and timbits today. Oh well it was 1 and 1 bite of the other.

I know exactly how you feel.  My cousin is pregnant with twins.  She was taken out of work and told to "take it easy" after getting a positive Fetal Fibronectin test at 33 wks.  She hasn't taken it easy at all.  She's been shopping, cleaning, and even spent 4 hours riding around in a golf cart while her husband golfed in 105 degree heat.  Her life is about to be turned upside down. She's having a c-section so she doesn't think that any classes (new parents, bf'ing, etc) are necessary to prep her for having the babies.  She's dead set on bf'ing but doesn't seem to think any class, book, etc. is necessary.  I worry she doesn't realize how very hard it is.  My FFFC is that I'm setting aside my no-mom judgment policy and I'm judging her. It's not fair because I know she'll realize all these things later, but that's why this is (hopefully) FF.

  • I've been letting DH tend to DS2 in the middle of the night with excuse that I have to wake up earlier for work. In reality, I just like getting the whole bed to myself.

School let out early today because of a local college football game. I have told my children that if they will nap, I will take them to a movie later. I am not above bribing. I am SO tired!
  • @slam1110 the centre of the donut. Or a donut hole. They are small but so good. I live in Canada and Tim Hortons makes them.
  • I have been asking DH to cook dinner every night since my BFP claiming to be to tired... actually I am just lazy.

This is my favorite thing I've read all day
  • I'm strongly considering going straight to formula feeding this time around.
  • I took a two hour nap. My four year old is still sleeping. She's going to be insane later, but I don't care because I'm going to a 6pm photoshoot and will say as long as possible leaving her, my 10 year old and 10 year old neighbor kid for my husband to deal with.

  • I had a week off of work for a pre planned "staycation" based on how tired I've been this week (and it seems to be getting worse), I have no clue how I'm going to make it through an 8 hour work day... Seriously considering coming home for a nap everyday...
  • I rested my head on my biology textbook in the library and cared not at all what the traditional undergrads thought of me
  • I've been complaining right and left about H having a "man cold" for two days. I even told him he had to suck it up and BBQ for our DS bday yesterday because I was doing everything else. Turns out he's actually sick. He had a 103 fever this morning and he said he felt even worse last night. Advil only brings it to 101. Anyway, if he didn't act like he was dying whenever he gets the sniffles I'd be a lot more likely to have believed him about this illness right off the bat.
