Well THAT was embarrassing...or gross.

What is the most embarrassing or grossest thing that has happened to your pregnant self so far? My embarrassment was snapping at random people in the subway, gross just burping a lot at home (I don't normally burp out loud), but today I used the bathroom at work and once I was done and walking back to the office, found myself peeing my pants!!! I was scared my water broke for a moment, because I had the amnio done on Friday, but nope, it's pee. Lucky me for having pads. Hopefully this is an ok thread to post here and not too TMI, but we're all pregnant here! Ladies, tell me I'm not alone in this!

Re: Well THAT was embarrassing...or gross.

  • Grossest was definitely the dry heaving at 3 AM that also made me pee myself.

  • Some of my shirts have gotten tight around the chest. Yesterday as I was walking into work I noticed the young man in front of me look back a couple times. I looked down and the middle TWO BUTTONS ON MY BLOUSE CAME UNDONE! Black laced pregnant boobies bouncing everywhere! I was so embarrassed....

  • @JustJaney laughing so hard I'm crying at that link
  • Throwing up chili through my nose. Grossest incident of my entire life, not to mention thinking I was going to die from an obstructed airway. Do not recommend.
  • Embarrassing was I snapped at some lady for being a grump at the store. She didn't like that I told her she didn't have to be so grumpy.  Grossest was when I was trying to take my prenatal in the first tri and ended up throwing up all over the counter. Didn't expect that.  I ended up switching to gummies which luckily go down a lot easier.

  • Yep, peeing on the bath may while vomitting and then carrying it through the house to the laundry room. Hubby was smart enough to not say a word as I walked by.

I think the grossest things were first trimester for sure, and I'm going to put mine in spoiler tags because I think they're gross.

We spent a month in Denmark from weeks 5 to 10... I got food poisoning at a restaurant during our 1-night stopover in NYC. I didn't have a thermometer to be sure if I was running a fever at first, but I really felt like I was running a serious one, so we went to the Danish ER--which is a free public healthcare system. About to pass out while waiting, I ate a cold popsicle... when I finally got called back, because my mouth was so cold, the doctor made me take my own temperature... rectally. They put a really awkward uncomfortable cover on it since it gets reused....

Combined food poisoning and the fact that I have never taken my own rectal temperature before... when I pulled the thermometer back out, it had a smidge of poop on it :|

In that same time period as #1, again, food poisoning... I had horrible, horrible morning sickness as well as extreme smell sensitivity. So basically, I would go to the bathroom, have diarrhea and then the smell of the diarrhea would make me throw up. Except I had to get off the toilet to throw up into the toilet... and then the motion of jumping off the toilet made me have to go again... and it was an endless circle of the two things that finally ended when I started throwing up bile.

It was basically like a real life version of:

  • Most embarrassing for me was definitely when I had a phantom let down and jumped out of the shower yelling at dh to grab my pump because "MY MILK IS COMING". #slowdowncrazylady

  • I found out one of my boobs was starting to leak...when I was wearing a sports bra with zero padding and talking to one of the executives at work.

The peeing while I vomit/dry heave is still happening so I'm used to it by now.
  • I was using the bathroom at work yesterday, and walked out of the stall and had to turn back around quickly as I had peed my pants.  I guess I need to sit on the toilet longer!

  • With dd1, I had a hormonal meltdown at 10 weeks pregnant in front of my parents and my in laws who were helping us move. I yelled, across a parking garage, lots of f words and spewed lots of ugly cries while simultaneously dry heaving. I can't figure out why they still talk to me.
  • I am an ugly crier and when I start crying I lose the ability to talk through it. Something triggered my pregnant crying in the middle of the furniture store a few weeks back and I was just sitting in a recliner sobbing unable to have a conversation with anyone and tell them I'm fine. Also, did the same thing while on the phone with the insurance company yesterday (who made me mad in an already stressed situation and put me on hold for the 3rd time) where I broke in to tears and could no longer continue a conversation. I told them to hold. At the same time my husband was overreacting to my tears so I was trying to yell at him to not worry about it and that I was mad that they were placing me on hold (while the gal on the phone heard it all). I wish I could be one of those people who could talk through the crying.

  • I went to Michaels with DS and my SIL on Monday.  I sneezed and peed my pants.  I was wearing a dress so there was literally pee dripping down my leg.  I quickly tried to turn the corner with DS in the stroller, wipe my leg and then to SIL was like I have to pee, watch DS!  I'm really hoping no one actually noticed.

  • I have had many peeing my pants incidents in this pregnancy. Mostly at work where I am half an hour away from home. I carry and wear panty liners now but the whole weak bladder thing started way earlier this time around. It was really embarrassing when it happened on my lunch break and I had to call my boss and let her know what happened and that I was headed to the store to buy a new pair of pants! Luckily she's had kids so she understands but still really embarrassing. Oh and the fact that I had to try on pants at a store trying to make sure I was clean before I put the new ones on in case they didn't fit.

  • Aaaand just snapped at a co-worker in front of the whole office... got irritated about something and felt very very angry. Now waiting for her to come back to the office so that I can apologize...:/
  • This isn't the most embarrassing thing, but I have to vent about this one. I'm sick with a cold and I am probably sneezing 30 times/day. Only issue is every time I sneeze, I pee a little. Even when I have what I *think* is an empty bladder. Stayed home sick from work today because I couldn't handle another day... Well... "snissing" myself nonstop in public. Fun. Times.
  • Few weeks ago, I ended up ripping a huge hole in the front of my last pair of pants that fit me by sneezing...and didn't notice it until lunchtime. Walking around with my pretty green undies showing alllllll morning...yeah...but I was able to change over lunch and pretend like I'd been wearing a skirt all day.

Children are like casseroles; it takes a lot to mess them up.

  • Bent down to get something for work earlier this week. I thought I heard a rip, but I was wearing a pretty loose dress. I looked to see if maybe I had spread my knees to far in the bend down and ripped the ruffle around the bottom, but I didn't see anything. I continued on to work. Most of the way through my day, a lady in the copy room said hey your ruffle is coming apart at the seem in the back. I guess the ruffle got caught in my knee bend when I bent down, and it ripped it. The dress was just above knee length. The woman was like you can't really see anything. I just finished out the day. It had a 2-3 inch rip in it when I got home to inspect it.
  • I pretty much pee my pants daily- not full on pee but enough to be worried others might notice. It usually happens right after I just finished going to the bathroom or after I've climbed stairs.
  • @KarliQ88 I'm sooooo sorry, but that could definitely be in a movie!!

Right!?  On top of it my husband grabbed my purse so it wasn't left at the table alone. Nothing says romantic like hugging in a man's public bathroom, crying, while your husband is holding a flower purse and your head was just in a urinal.
  • @KarliQ88 your husband is a really good guy.  Also, he remembered the purse which is very important.
