@NoraAurora oh hm....I just got prophylactic IV penicillin during the labor part of my induction when I was still trying for a vaginal delivery because my GBS status was unknown (results not in from the test the day before), and none during or after my cs. Maybe they considered it sufficient having gotten it before the surgery?
The current research supports ancef or cleocin IV about 15-60 minutes before c-section to prevent infection. Penicillin shouldn't be sufficient really. I wonder if they hooked it up to your IV without having told you? If not, all's well that ends well I guess
Married 11-11-11 TTC only since Dec 2015. I had some weight to get off. Been working hard in the gym for over a year. BFP 02-15-16 with our first IT'S A BOY!!!
Just like Ally, I am also in L&D to get this party started. I had a growth US today and they showed that my fluids were practically non-existent so I was sent over to L&D to get checked out. Well my BP was wonky and they were struggling to get it down (finally seems to be going down) but between BP and lack of fluids, they decided to induce me. The US showed my cervix is still really high and long so they might not be able to break my water, and instead will have to give me a medication to soften it, but I won't know until the doctor checks me (which will hopefully be soon).
Is it just me or does anyone else have the "I am being the next?" feeling whenever someone posts they are L&D?
I have the opposite feeling. I am all "that's never going to be me." I am feeling super impatient to meet my baby and I know it'll be no more than 3 weeks, but feels like it'll never be my turn. Yes this is a major wahhhh.

Same and I'm starting to get really depressed about it, although I'm not sure why??? Probably because I'm already suffering from depression.
Super excited for everyone obviously and I know it probably sounds bad. But I'm hoping he comes soon...
Good luck, @AllyTheKid and @LauraPCOS Hoping for some sweet squishy updates when I wake up tomorrow!! (which will be the middle of the night your time, so definitely don't hesitate to post if you think no one will see it!)
@LauraPCOS Hooray! Our babies might be birthday twins! Thanks for all the well wishes ladies, I probably won't be on much for now but I'll keep you posted as much as possible!
Good luck @AllyTheKid and @LauraPCOS!!! I had an appt todayand I'm 1cm/30% effaced/-1 station.. a slight change from high, thick and closed 4 weeks ago! doc offered to induce me on thursday, I declined. He did take me off work though which I'm grateful for. Otherwise, just hanging out until sometime next week when I'm hoping she decides to come!
Just posted in the birth announcements! We had so many visitors and was exhausted from being up all night the night before I'm just getting around to updating. Thanks everybody for the well wishes!
Omg what a beautiful baby @mizzkbrat! Your labor sounds intense and I'm surprised you did so much of it at home! I was such a wimp with my first. Congrats!
They broke my water and pitocin is in and has been upped a few times now. Contractions are about 30 seconds every 6 minutes or so. Thank god there is the baseball game on so it can distract me for the next 2 hours lol
@bnsmith85 I was convinced I've been having BH for a while, until someone said on here that the sides would be tight too, and now I'm not sure. Why does this have to be so ambiguous?!
@ashleyp625 I thought I wasn't having BH because I'd been told the whole belly had to get tight. But my doctor said no, the tightness across the top of my belly is BH. Maybe because I have more fluff around the aides and I'm not noticing tightness there?? Or maybe it's just different for everyone.
And BTW @LauraPCOS aren't you Canadian? If that's the case you should watch the debate just for kicks, and pity us prego Americans who can't even drink tonight...
@ashleyp625 My BH have been at the top.of my stomach today, I did my research and apparently it's common... I think everyone processes and feels them differently
Sooooo much pressure the last few days and tonight I'm having menstrual-like cramps. I've read a few different things that said those could either mean labor soon or even early labor. Either way, I finally feel like things are moving along. Hopefully that'll help me hang on to my sanity until labor actually kicks in. That and bouncing on my birthing ball from morning till night. Lol
