So today I had a very exciting morning, as my husband and I looked anxiously towards seeing our baby girl on the 3d/4d ultrasound. All of that went great until my actual OB appointment, when I was told my BP was 168/94 or so. They repeated it and it was still high, so off to L&D triage I went. Spent 4 hours monitoring the baby's heart rate and also got a nice run of diarrhea due to how uncomfortable I was throughout the whole thing, oddly. After blood work and urine testing, I now have elevated protein and have to do a 24 hr urine collection and am off work for the rest of the week. I once said a while back bed rest sounded great, I officially recant that comment lol...this is gonna suck.
@jenesiso I'm so sorry you're going through this! I'm working on my 5th week of bed rest right now with elevated protein levels and blood pressure as well. I totally get the frustration!! The best thing to do is relax and know it's a good thing they are keeping an eye on everything! I'll be thinking of you! Bed rest is hard but just think once that beautiful baby is born you will never be able to sit down:) catch up on some trashy reality tv and cooking shows, read a good book, I've even been coloring hahha. Let me know if you need anything!!
Good luck! Bedrest sucks but it's worth in the end (that's what I keep telling myself) I've been on it since I was 4-4 1/2 months... Hope everything tests okay!
I go in today for the results at 130...if they put me on bed rest hopefully it'll be here at home and not at the hospital. 5 hours there was long enough for me!
Found out today it is indeed pre-eclampsia. Luckily I get to rest at home instead of the hospital, for now. Off of work indefinitely, after my maternity leave is over. Not really happy about any of it. I'll have appointments galore now. Better get the knitting needles and netflix out!
@jenesiso it definitely sucks but try to stay as calm as possible and for sure let your doctor know if you start feeling weird or anything. You can do it!
Well here I am, 31w and officially admitted for the next 3 weeks and at 35w they will take the baby. Currently on magnesium sulfate and I haven't slept going on 40 hours now. I'm stuck here and it's already a nightmare.
This wasn't the update I was hoping for, but sending good thoughts your way that the magnesium is doing what it needs to do (I'm assuming to stop contractions?) and that the next few weeks pass quickly for you.
