  • @fivetimesnoluck thank you for that! That did make me chuckle, but it is very true! Hopefully all of our miracle babies are smarty pants and get lots of scholarships!
  • @LizzieJ13 Thank you! I admire your plans moving forward. We will achieve parenthood somehow too, I truly believe that!

@fivetimesnoluck LOL. That meme gave me quite a chuckle. I don't know if this is sad or not but so far my college education still beats the cost of IVF (by like 3 times, ugh!)

@mjacks16 I know I already told you this on the FET thread but I'm so sorry

  • @radmom27 Thank you for sharing that article! This was my favorite part: But telling someone who’s trying to get pregnant that it was super-duper easy for you to get pregnant is like walking around a cancer ward saying, “Wow, that’s weird, it’s been SO EASY for me NOT to get cancer! I just eat lots of fucking kale, guys! Have you tried eating kale, you sick dummies?”

I think I might actually say this the next time someone says that to me!

  • @radmom27 good luck today! That was an awesome article! I loved her response!

Happy Friday everyone! I woke up at 3:30am to pee and couldn't fall back asleep so today might be a loooong day for me. Thankfully we are moving offices across the hall next week so I can spend most of the day packing up my stuff and organizing and not have to concentrate too much. Just the weekend to get through and then Monday is the big day! Still not feeling very positive, any symptoms I *thought* I was having have basically disappeared, so who knows what's going on.

  • Thinking positive for you @mtpbadger .  The symptoms are such liars!  I never believe them!  Few more days!!
    Me: 41  DH: 44  DD: 9
    IVF: ER 7/16 40 follies, 23 eggs, 19 mature,
    12 fert w/icsi, 6 blasts, 3 PGS norm, 1 unknown.

    FET: 9/1/16 transferred 1 CP beta 5.9
    FET 2: 11/15/16 transferred 1 CP again!
    FET 3: TBD

  • @mtpbadger Yeah my "symptoms" (aside from an occasional twinge that my mind thinks is in my uterus) have pretty much disappeared too. No matter what I do I can't seem to stop picturing what the phone call will be like. This is my first beta ever so I don't even know what time on Monday to expect the call. I'm pretty much going to be a huge ball of anxiety the whole day.

  • @wifeinraleigh28 during my first FET I didn't get the call until about 5pm, it was torture. That was the first time I hadn't tested before the beta either so it was awful. DH wants to be there for the phone call so I told him I would let it go to voicemail so we can listen together. Hopefully they don't call super early in the day and make me wait to listen to it! Thankfully I get off of work fairly early (3:30pm) and DH will be picking me up that day. If it does end up being a positive, they better call before the pharmacy closes b/c I only have enough meds to get me through Tuesday night!
  • @mtpbadger Wow 5pm is brutal!!! DH and I are both taking Monday off work so we can be together when we get the call. I would be a hot mess at work anyway! Here's hoping we both get good news Monday afternoon!

  • Yeah, it was awful! Usually they don't call that late! Actually, my DH actually called my nurse and had to ask! I think it was Bc my RE was the one that wanted to call and discuss it. Which to me is just cruel. You get bad news and then expect someone to have a logical conversation? In the end it helped me focus on moving forward so it was all good. I think I would be worse if I stayed home! At least at work I can usually stay distracted. This time only one person knows we are getting the results that day (my coworker who went through IVF) so she helps keep me distracted.
  • @mjacks16 I'm so sorry for the N :( Be kind to yourself this weekend.
  • Official but expected BFN for me. My plan is to transfer my remaining frozen embryos likely in November.  Thanks to everyone for all of your support.  Crossing my fingers for big news from many of you on Monday!

  • @jsmorrissey not good!! I am starting to get anxious although trying to keep myself distracted. Had a mini meltdown this morning thinking what if this cycle didn't work. My DH is very supportive and positive but it's also not him that's having to do two painful injections every night and possibly for nothing. I feel like any symptoms I thought I had earlier this week are completely gone so I'm terrified that means it might have been another chemical pregnancy. Had alternating dreams last night that beta was positive and woke up crying and then one that beta was negative and woke up crying.

Going to stay busy today by putting away summer clothes, getting my sweaters out of storage, organize, watch some college football (Go Wisconsin!) and tomorrow we are going on a little day trip.

edited @radmom27, I just now had time to read the article in its entirety...So true!  I had a friend, who knows what I am going through, tell me that 2 of her other friends our age got pregnant pretty easily.  I sat on the phone silent (dumb founded) and she was like "helloooo" I was like "that's great for them" and she proceeded to tell me that she was only telling me to let me know so I didn't give up hope, that other women our age are able to get pregnant.  I simply explained, I am obviously not like her other friends and my situation is clearly different.  I wanted to reach through the phone!!!  Why would she think that would make me feel better???  Maybe, if she said they went through IVF as well or had IF issues, but to just say they are our age and it is possible.  DUH!?!?!?  I know lots of women our age can get pregnant without issue.  I see it everyday on FB or in my personal life.   OK, there is my rant!!!!!

@mtpbadger Hang in there.  Definitely stay busy.  I did the whole closet thing last weekend! I just want to go spend money on our house. DH may be ok with it :) hahaha.  He has been awesome!  But I do feel you on losing it a bit.  It hit me hard yesterday that I didn't think it worked.  I think it will devastate me to know that I won't have a baby. it's so scary to me that my life will be forever changed (good or bad) on Wednesday.  I already told my boss I may be taking off early and not coming back for a couple days. HA!  I am not trying to be pessimistic, but I need to remain realistic.  so if/when I get the BFP it will be all the more exciting.

@Jsmorrissey I would have been LIVID with that friend of yours too! Ugh, I guess her intentions were good but how STUPID to think that would be helpful in the first place. Sorry girl :disappointed: I feel you on how scary beta day is. We have so much riding on it after we try so hard to get pregnant and then spend all this money on IVF.

@mtpbadger I keep going back and forth too. Yesterday was actually a more hopeful day for me, but today, I'm just in the middle. Especially because I know that if I were to take a HPT today it would most likely be accurate. I could just POAS and know. But then I remind myself that I still wouldn't really *know* anything.

So I haven't tested yet. I actually did try to convince DH that it's a good idea for me to POAS today but he refused to let me. So I'm back to distracting myself. Earlier today I thought, "What if I could be at complete peace with myself on Monday, regardless of what the result is? Can't I just choose to accept either answer and be okay with it?" I'm trying to get to that point, because there is nothing I can do about it either way. I have literally done everything I can possibly do.

  • Thank you to everyone for your support.  A BFN never gets easier but having a plan in place helps.
@wifeinraleigh28 Hold out until Monday and don't POAS.  Take it from a POAS addict, it only makes you obsess more and if it's a positive (which I fully believe and hope it will be), enjoy that moment with your husband without doubting that it's actually true.

@Jsmorrissey Sometimes I can't believe the things that friends say to us through this journey.  One of my friends (who is my age) has had two kids in the span of time that I've been trying, knows what I've been going through and still jokes that her husband looks at her and she gets pregnant...she has even joked that maybe she should lend him to me (which is both bizarre and stupid because we don't have any MFI issues).  I think "maybe" she's trying to be supportive but has no idea how hurtful it is when she says things like that or flaunts it in my face that other people don't have a problem getting pregnant.

@mtpbadger Hang in there...you're almost there.  I do think it's different for our significant others and although maybe not easier, but also not constantly in their faces.  My DH often tells me that I think about it all too much but then I try to explain that it's just impossible not to....every twinge, cramp...every time you go to the bathroom, the thoughts are always there.

Good luck to you Monday ladies.  We NEED more positives in this thread and 9/27 sounds like a good day for that to happen!!!! Can't wait to hear all of your  news.

  • @Lefemmeviolette - I am so sorry!  :( It's just so lame!

@wifeinraleigh - YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!  I am so ecstatic for you!  I would be crying happy tears as well!  Congrats!!!!  I can't wait to hear the what the next BETA is!!!!!

AFM-I could not sleep last night...I started to cry because I don't feel that it worked and I'm not sure if I am ready to deal with the fact that I won't be able have any kids.  Anyone I have expressed this to, says " you can just do it again" um...no, we can't and we won't.  I have no idea how people who are OOP can afford to do this more than once.   We would never take out a loan and my DH is not willing to use anymore of our savings.  Which I am not either.  Without any frozen, we will be out and it is stressing me out to the max.  I can't even concentrate at work, which I am always able to put my personal life aside at work... There's my vent.  Thank you!!!
