September TWW/Beta Testers!

Re: September TWW/Beta Testers!

  • @Jsmorrissey Congrats for being PUPO!

No beta today for me...it got pushed back to Friday so it will be a full 14 days past when I probably ovulated.  I've tested every day with FRER and it's still positive which is likely still my trigger.  The wait continues...

  • @wifeinraleigh28 my trial transfer didn't go well.  Apparently, I have a small cervix and it was painful, blah blah blah, so she advised it may be better to put me under so I wasn't wincing and crying the whole time.  I typically have a high tolerance for pain.  I said yes without hesitation! :)  DH was there and saw it, so at least one of us got to see it.  HA!!!

  • So I caved and I tested last night and thought I saw the faintest line on the Wondfo. Tested again this morning and don't think I saw anything. I'll probably go out and get a FRER today to test tomorrow to see.  It is giving me a glimmer of hope. Last time I could def see a faint second line at 7dpt, but I also had a different set of tests, with the blue handle. Yep, going crazy! Today and tomorrow are going to be looooong days!

How is everyone else holding up?

@FatPony Excited to hear what your beta is today!
  • @Jsmorrissey Yikes, well I'm glad that was an option for you!  I'm glad they were able to get the transfer done successfully at least!

@mjacks16 I hope I hope that 2nd line you saw is legit!!! 2 more days until your beta!!

I know I said I wasn't going to test before beta but now I really don't know how I'm going to wait until Monday.I know 4dpt is too early, but maybe I could see a positive on Saturday or Sunday?  I don't know what to do.  I so badly want this FET to work and the wait is torturing me!

  • @wifeinraleigh28 STAY STRONG GIRL! We have less than one week. At least you're not 8dpt like I am and still have to get to the 26th! (I'm having a little pity party that my clinic makes me wait so long!) I am also SO tempted to test but am too afraid of getting a BFN that I haven't yet. I'd rather be blissfully ignorant until beta day thinking that I could still be pregnant.

Any cramping I had has pretty much subsided but my boobs are starting to hurt - not all the time but every once and awhile I think "hmm...they are feeling kinda sore". I'm trying not to pay any attention to it so I don't go crazy but it's SO. DANG. HARD.

  • @wifeinraleigh28 I don't know about the likelihood of an accurate result for you on Saturday or Sunday, but I always like testing early because I feel like if it's negative, ok, it's early and maybe it'll change, but at the same time it slowly lowers my expectations... Also I have no willpower!  Did you test early for your IUI cycles?

    @mjacks16 I hope that really was a 2nd line!

The trigger is out for me now so I'll just use a Wondfo every morning from here on out. I am so over taking Prometrium at this point that I'm anxious for the cycle to end. (Well, of course I would be thrilled to have a reason to continue taking it, too! :) )

August 2016: Clomid 100mg no response, Letrozole 5mg, Ovidrel, TI, Prometrium = BFN

  • @mtpbadger Its probably better that you don't test, then you won't be like me staring at them going, is that a line, maybe I see a line, no not a line, but in this light . . .
  • LOL @mjacks16 been there done that! During my IUIs I always tested early and my DH won't let me now b/c I went kinda crazy. ***TW*** Plus we had two CPs back to back during the IUIs and that totally messed with my head - seeing the positive and then getting such a low number, I can't go through that again. I'd rather just hear the number and/or a negative from my nurse.

  • In order to manage my crazy I think I'm going to have to start testing tomorrow. Again... crazy.

But I have a bunch of leftover Wondfos from my IUI days that are just begging to be peed on! So, starting tomorrow morning I'm gonna pee on those and see if there is any progression as the days go on. May pull out the big guns (FRER) over the weekend.

Buh bye, willpower! See ya lata...

  • @mtpbadger Thank you for saying everything that you just said because I think you've kicked me back on the "DO NOT TEST EARLY" train!  You're right, it's better to hear it from the nurse, and just be blissfully PUPO until beta day.  I will try so hard!!!

@LizzieJ13 I actually never tested early during my IUIs, but I also never expected those to work so I was in fact considering myself NPUPO, lol.  So I wasn't really that tempted to test.  With our MFI I think our chances were like 7% with IUI so we were really only doing them to kill time until we could do IVF.  Glad to hear the trigger is out of your system now and you will know if a BFP is real!! :)

Also, I know it's board culture but I really hate the term BFN. Like, does it have to be big, and fat? I feel like that part just adds insult to injury lol. Maybe I'll just start using N. Like I hated the term DH, so I usually just use H or MH for My Husband. Call me crazy lol.

Question though, I don't have any FRERs on hand which I usually use to confirm at 15dpo, does anyone think it's worth it to buy them or are Wondfos good enough? I guess because they're so cheap I don't trust them 100%.

  • @jsmorrissey I'm staying strong and haven't tested yet and don't plan on it! I'm starting to go crazy though! Last night I told my hubby that I was convinced it worked, this morning told him that I was convinced it didn't work, lol! I'm trying not to get my hopes up but I've been having some symptoms here and there that I didn't during my first FET. Although I am on different meds this time around too, so that could be the difference. And it doesn't help that the symptoms are coming and going so I really feel like I'm going crazy. Driving in the car to work this morning if anyone saw me I'm sure they think I'm cuckoo - was definitely feeling myself up (over my clothes) to see if my boobs were more or less sore than yesterday!
  • @Jsmorrissey So far I haven't tested.  I did almost pee on a stick this morning at around 10:30 though.  But I didn't.  I know it would probably be negative anyway (I'm 6dpt) and it would only make me sad.

@LizzieJ13 I don't really know much about the wondfos but when I was doing IUIs my clinic said that any line test is sufficient.  I'm sorry you got another BFN   What are your plans for next cycle?

@mtpbadger I think I'm going just as, if not more crazy than you are.  But for the most part I've been a negative Nancy.  I just feel so hopeless about this cycle.  No real reason why though.

    Me: 34, DH: 38 ~ TTC since 2014
    IUI #1-3 (Nov 2015, Feb 2016, May 2016) = BFNs

    FET #1 (Sept 2016) = BFP! DD born 5/30/17
    FET #2 (April 2019) = BFN
    FET #3 (July 2019) = BFP! DS born 3/27/20
  • @wifeinraleigh28 hang in there lady! It hasn't even been a week for you yet so most likely even if you tested, it wouldn't show up yet. I felt very indifferent the entire first week of my TWW and now am seriously going mental. The only reason I'm somewhat hopeful is due to having some *potential* symptoms, but I have a feeling that will only make it that much worse if it ends up being a negative and when I think of that happening I start to really get down.

Regardless of what all of your outcome is on Monday, we are all here for you, good or bad, however we can help you get through this.

  • @mtpbadger Thanks girl.  I know you know how it goes.  When you want something to work so bad, the thought that it might not work is devastating to even think about.  Just a few more days to go... I think this is going to be one of the most torturous weekends ever (and I LOVE my weekends!)

  • @Jsmorrissey I'm a compulsive tester and am 98% sure I'm out this cycle...which is not terribly surprising. I have my beta tomorrow but have gone through all of the regular emotions in the past two days of past failed cycles and am ready to just move on with my next plan of action.

@wifeinraleigh28 Don't lose hope!!  I think the 2ww (or less than that) is one of the worst parts of IVF/FET.   I keep hoping it will get easier but it never does.

Crossing my fingers for the rest of you all that are waiting and know that the BFPs are coming.  Statistically, it's impossible for them not to come!!

  • @radmom27 - right?? Statistically there has to be some good news in this thread!

@wifeinraleigh28 thanks, at this point I'm thinking of maybe stopping the meds next cycle and fully committing to lifestyle changes, acupuncture, a maybe investigating a NaPro doctor more diligently as we are not moving on to further treatments. Since our "only" (ha) known problem is my PCOS, that might be a good plan of attack for now. I think my husband and I have to begin to accept that biological children may not be in our future and 1) deal with those emotions and 2) gradually explore the idea of adoption.

I hope you and everyone testing next week has some great weekend plans to pass the time! I actually do have a fun weekend ahead which is helpful timing assuming tomorrow's test isn't better news!
    Me: 33, PCOS with anovulation

    Feb-May 2016: Letrozole 5mg, Ovidrel, TI, Prometrium = BFN x 3
August 2016: Clomid 100mg no response, Letrozole 5mg, Ovidrel, TI, Prometrium = BFN

  • Uggghhh!  Seriously this TWW is screwing with me.  I tested a lot during my TWW with IUI's, but I am going to try my best not to do it this time.  I didn't have any embabies leftover to freeze, so I don't know if I want to be sad until Wednesday or try to stay at least hopeful (this is my only shot, we most likely won't do this again).

There has to be positives, like @radmom27 said, statistically things have to turn around.

Hope that means the rest of you end up with BFP's!!
  • @jsmorrissey I am in the camp of staying blissfully ignorant up until my beta! FX the next week flies and you get your positive!
