@Katm89 love the name Rhea! So cute! I found breastfeeding was rough as well. I ended up throwing in the towel for health related issues on my end, I loved a lot of things about it. But it was exhausting physically and emotionally! Hang in there!
So our bed collapsed in the middle of the night on Monday night. We went out yesterday and bought a new bed frame to fit our existing mattress set. Either I have lost my damn mind from sleep deprivation, or I'm a genius. We had a full size mattress, which had caused issues during pregnancy. I got a lot bigger, and honestly - so did DH. I woke up from one of my 2 hour naps which now pass for a nights sleep today and said to DH - Hey, since we habve to buy a new frame anyway... let's buy a king and buy a new mattress on 0%? It worked out to $50 a month, 0% for 24 months, and the store cut us a deal on the king frame to sell the mattress. they actually sold it to us for the same price we had paid for the other frame AND took $200.00 off the mattress. I feel like we aren't wasting the money on the new frame now, and I really feel like the king size bed will be a game changer for our family. We have three cats, now the kiddo, and my husband is 6'4 so bed real estate is a bit of a premium these days...
@JournoGrl23 I know usually getting laid off is a bad thing but yay! I'm glad you're done with that place. Do you still have to go back and work the 30 days, or are you free now??
I haven't been on the board in so long! It's been pretty rare now that DS is here for me to have both hands free to type anything... and the energy and focus to do so. I've been lurking occasionally. It's so fun to see more and more of us having our babies. We have settled into a bit more of a groove and I look forward to betting back on the board and comparing notes on baby stuff with everyone.
ETA: Did I miss any good snowflakes or other drama?
Welcome back! Nope, didn't miss too much! Fran officially went on vacay as snowflakes have come and gone (watch, we get that one last SS that asks about her damn mucous plug).
TB has died down a bit but naturally so as most of us are with our newborns & trying to adjust to the new normal
I think once we have a FB group goin', we may be more active on there.
@Bookhousegirl YASS! King size bed!!! I think even the new born is dying for a king size bed over here!! When we went on our little mini vacay last weekend we were all in heaven in the king.
@AliKay20 I'm getting excited for the group honestly. It'll be fun!

I don't have to go back at all! My department's last day is Oct. 15 and my maternity leave ends Oct. 24. I made sure I still get all my leave and I do! Plus I get severence so it worked out well for me. I feel horrible for my coworkers though. I hope they find another job soon.
@AliKay20 Thanks! I miss TB being a regular part of my routine -- but then again my previous routine is long gone. I hope we can keep the board going when we all get back into the swing of things with our little ones.
I've been so emotional today because time is going so fast and my baby is growing (lol, I know that's a good thing). Just when I'm about to lose it and become a blubbering mess... DS spits up on my boob/in his face. And all you can do is laugh at the look of surprise on both our faces!!

Seriously I feel like this is what I struggle with on a daily basis! They grow up so fast. I was just looking at Avery's newborn clothes in her drawer and how they don't fit anymore. I mean, I tried but she looks really stuffed if you know what I mean (lol). Her coming home outfit after getting discharged from NICU was so big on her that day but I can't even button it up all the way. AHHH. Stop this madness!!
At least I have Fall to look forward to and buying her some Fall style outfits.
Today was my second day home with both kids alone and I made it through without any tears and I actually accomplished things! Maybe this won't be as impossible as I thought!

@texasmama2014 I've been to Sonic twice now with DH and the baby. The first time I said, "this is the best date ever," and we got a good laugh out of how much your perspective changes with a newborn.
@JournoGrl23 I'm glad everything worked out for you! Does this mean your slacker co-worker got laid off too?
Unfortunately no! He works in the sports department and I was a copy editor and page designer, which newspapers no longer need. We worked together every night though. But he kept his job.
My sleep deprived self just thought of a genius(?) idea: To put my face or DH's face on the mobile that comes with the swing we recently got. That way, she'll really think we're holding her as she swings side to side and fall asleep faster!
Hmm...a fleeting thought but it was a serious consideration at one point. Thankfully, my alert side realized where I was going and put a hard no to this creepy idea.
Random vent. We just got home from shopping for a recliner. DH decides to eat supper while i feed DS. dS spits up and pukes up everything through his mouth and nose. DH decides cleaning up the couch is more important than helping me clean up myself and making sure DS is ok. Sigh. And i haven't gotten to eat myself yet trying to make sure DS is ok.
First post-baby date night with the hubs, and we managed to stay out until 8:30! I had a feast of things I couldn't have while pregnant - a cocktail, wine, medium rare prime rib and an entire hot fudge sundae. Feel a little sick now tbh, but I regret nothing.
