Re: MBF 8.29

  • Sorry to all those who are sick! Hope you all feel better soon.

@ThePax89 gross! Last spring my daughter got hand foot mouth from a kid at the library. Not cool!

  • My due date is my MIL's birthday and I am super sick of hearing her refer to him as "her birthday present." I'm sorry but if he's anyone's "gift" he's ours!

  • @shlecka omg mine too! She pouted hard core when I told her I was getting induced and would no way no how have this baby on her birthday.
  • Aright, I have one today. I have heard the stories and even experienced a few of the ridiculous things people ask pregnant ladies. But seriously. People. Our janitorial staffer at work (never married and childless) walked up to me and asked: Was this pregnancy planned? Am I married? How old am I? And then proceeded to tell me she thought I was "just a kid" and drop helpful hints about how I should parent based on her observation of kids at work. WHAT?!  I should have ripped her a new one. But in the moment I just blinked a lot and said "oh" one too many times. Insanity, so inappropriate.

Moms who take their sick kids to the library/park/etc are assholes.

Today a child came up to me at a library class and sneezed a snot/half digested food concoction at my face. I didn't see a nanny or mom watching him.
Along these same lines, a "parent" sent their 6th grader to school with a 101.6 degree fever today, snotting and coughing all over. Of course, he came up to me, at the start of school and says he has a fever but his Mom sent him to school with medicine but he still didn't feel good. Seriously? I have another student who has a heart transplant and on the Welcome letter you signed you know I'm pregnant and I have him for 3 periods! Keep your f'ing sick kid at home!

My MBF is people who believe stop signs and basic traffic laws don't apply to them. Then get pissed off when they're called on it. There is a horrible 3 way stop by my house that during certain hours gets very backed up. It clearly has big white and black signs that say "Don't Block the Intersection" and yet everyday I'm forced to wait at said intersection because the intersection is blocked. Which blocks up the intersection behind the 3 way which is a major intersection. Just follow the f'ing sign and don't be a Dick when I ask out the window if you have a reading comprehension issue!

  • I feel like a whale already. I'm only half way through. I am seriously waddling. How am I going to make it another 20 weeks knowing I'm just going to get bigger and more uncomfortable. Plus, I have a cold right now, and I'm huffing and puffing for every breath. That is adding to my problem. Ugh.

Preg-somnia can go straight to hell! I am beyond sick of waking up at 2 a.m. and not being able to get back to sleep.
Amen, sister! First of all, "preg-somnia" = awesome word. Second of all, how is it possible to be tired all the time, but also unable to sleep? EXPLAIN TO ME, BODY!!
  • @BAJDesigns wow I'd be speechless!!
  • OK, so I know it's Tuesday at this point,  but this is something that happens at random times just about every night so I feel good about putting it here...

I'm so sorry for the length...  Stick with me, I'm venting...

I have a place on my leg that has been bothering me, especially lately. It's right on the front of my shin, a few inches below my knee and, according to my GP and my OB it's nothing to worry about and just something to keep an eye on.  Basically, my GP says that it's an exposed nerve. It's just... miserable. Last night, J and I went to bed around 7:30 (he gets up super early for work and I get up with him because I have classes early) and my leg woke me up at 11 pm. I was up about an hour with it and fell back asleep, but kept being jolted awake because just the lightest touch is excruciating when it's *zinging*. The only thing I can think of to compare this pain to is diabetic neuropathy (though I know that what I have going on isn't nearly as painful).

That's pretty much it. I just wanted to whine about my leg bothering me.  Thanks for hanging in!

  • I have another one.

We were going to go to a popular burger place for dinner yesterday. It is a place where you order at the counter and they will bring it out to you. They also have a bar that you can just get drinks at. The line was super long and looped back and the end was near the bar. I asked a couple that I thought was the end of the line if they were in line because they were a few feet away from where I thought the line ended. They said they in line. The man behind him was several feet back and leaning against the bar with a flight of beers and my initial thought was that the couple was the end of the line, so I started to get in behind them....and then felt like this might not be the end of the line because the glare from the man behind them. I turned around and asked him if he was in line and he said "WE ALL ARE IN LINE" My hanger was not going to play nice, so I snipped back "Okay, so EVERYONE in this restaurant is in line? Because half the people here have food. Obviously, I was asking if you were the end of the line so I could get in behind you." I didn't even give him a chance to respond and I turned to my husband and told him I didn't want to eat here because they have drunk ass-holes. I was sooo mad for the entire night.

  • @katesmama0706 you know you are pregnant and constipated (sorry, TMI) when I actually get some *jealousy* that you have food poisoning. Just get everything out of me!!!
  • @newyearsbaby5 oh I just wanted to die but a really awful part of me was like "well I'll weigh less at my check in this week" cause last time I went I was constipated and couldn't get the nurse to just take off a few pounds to even it out.
  • @LCartee2016 I have a similar problem but mine is on the outside of my thigh. It does hurt sometimes, mostly it's just numb and tingly and I wake up with it a lot. It's been progressively getting worse for like 8 years and I'm afraid for what's to come now being pregnant! I know it has to be a nerve thing, but no dr has ever seemed too concerned. I suppose that's a good thing but man is it awful sometimes!

  • @shlecka ugh, it's just miserable. For me it started a couple of years ago and seems to be getting a little worse with the pregnancy.
I actually took it to the doctor when it first started, didn't get a satisfactory answer, and when I found I was expecting I went back because I Googled it and suddenly worried about deep vein thrombosis. But my GP ran tests and an u/s on my leg and everything  was just fine. He said the increased blood flow could be exacerbating the pain because of the position.

And then he called me clumsy and I can't even be angry because it's true. :D

  • My supposed best friend is hosting a baby shower for me and came into town this past weekend to help plan. She asked me about invitations so i showed her some i liked online that we could personalize. Well she got mad and cause a scene while shopping because she planned on buying cheap ones from walmart and hand filling them out.... She won't do the one thing i asked! Why ask for my opinion if you don't want it?!?

You really do have to just unfollow them to save yourself from going crazy.  I cannot stand the oversharring--especially when there is a constant stream of it.

My MBF is that I cannot sustain this level of eating.  Its ridiculous.  I eat twice the breakfast that I would not pregnant.  I eat a snack every 90 minutes probably.  And I am still. starving.  ALL THE TIME.
It's 9:55 and I've already eaten my biggest snack and my sandwich (which was a Jimmy Johns sub and I did not microwave the meat but I don't care).  All I have left is an apple and a packet of instant oatmeal.

It is way to time consuming to be this hungry and it's a pain financially too--we keep running out of food by Thursday, even though I expect it to last us through Saturday :l

I literally ordered two entrees from Panera Bread for lunch the other day because I knew one would not be sufficient. I had no shame carrying TWO TRAYS of food to my table :) . Needless to say it was delicious and so freaking satisfying! I ordered a large field salad entree and a fontega chicken panini (and a warm chocolate chip cookie) in case you were interested hehe.

I've never done this in my life and 9 times out of 10 I have leftovers no matter where I eat out.

  • @LCartee2016 Haha yeah I mean who isn't clumsy right now?!  I'm definitely going to insist on having it checked if it gets much worse.  I am on my feet ALL day which makes it worse, but that's my job and I can't afford to have it keep me from working.  Sometimes I think having compression on it would help, but I have no idea.

  • I was telling my stepfather (we don't get along and for many reasons he's not a good parent, too many details) all the things I can't/shouldn't eat or do while pregnant and he said "Oh don't buy into that crap, my sister did all that protective stuff and now her teenage son has no immune system bc she's too worried and protective."
I bit my tongue, then said "I'm talking about things that can poison baby and cause developmental issues while it's still being created."
He still stuck to his idea because he had to be right, I just walked away.

  • Do my in laws wait until I'm pregnant to amp up their drama? Wtf. They did this last time I was pregnant too- it becomes a constant stream of crap from their end. So much drama.

Pick the least ugly, have baby wear them around MIL a few times, and then just don't use the others.  You don't have to dress baby in every outfit you receive and you're the one who decides what baby wears every morning! My in-laws are all about buying the holiday outfits; sometimes they pick adorable stuff and sometimes they're just awful. Once I caught on to this, I made sure that I always buy holiday outfits in advance, and then I can say to DH, "it was SO nice of your mom/grandma/aunt/sister/whoever to get this for DD... but I already bought this outfit. Darn!" If both outfits are actually cute, we use them both and wear whichever is cuter on the actual holiday :)

  • @AshleySparkle720 I'll probably get flamed for this but I'm a big brat and if I could figure out where it came from I returned it. Otherwise I gave it away. I didn't even put baby in stuff for pictures if I didn't like it.
  • I already know the gifts from my MIL are not going to be anything I want. We just went in together (with DH) and bought a family member a baby shower gift and she was adamant about buying something from TJ Max and sending it to the expectant mother. I just ignored her and we ordered a Bjorn baby carrier - ya know, because it was actually on her registry?
