So a little back story. My husband and I lost one of our best friends this year and his name was Gregory Joseph. We want to name LO after him somehow. We just found out that we are having a girl and we are going to name her Linden. Which middle name sounds best? Linden Greer (Greer being the Scottish feminine form of Gregory) or Linden Josephine? Thanks
Josephine as its obviously feminine. Both Linden and Greer are surnames and as such are typically assumed to be masculine. Both are also given about equally to children of both sexes, so together Linden Greer comes across as very ambiguous/masculine (as society teaches us to default to masculine )
Also, Greer is close to Green and comes across a bit hokey with the whole first name is also a tree thing.
Re: Which sounds better?
Linden Josephine.
I would think Linden Greer was a male no question
Also, Greer is close to Green and comes across a bit hokey with the whole first name is also a tree thing.
