  • @Patience7150 this happens to me pre head hurting part. I hope you don't get the pain too
How soon after did your headache follow? I've had a minor headache tonight but nothing unusual.

  • I'm 16+2 right now.

I definitely have additional factors in place here this past weekend (stress, on my feet a lot, horrific eating patterns for the last four days, and severe lack of sleep) but my feet and ankles are INSANELY swollen!  My hands were slightly puffy, but have gone down in the last couple of hours, and my face was slightly swollen too. Anyone else experiencing this?!?!? Trying to chug water, elevate my feet as much as possible, and get rest now that I'm back home, but holy moly I felt so scared before getting home and checking baby boy's heartbeat on our fetal doppler. Luckily all sounds good... and hopefully this is not a sign of preeclampsia!

  • Those that are into the second tri, do you still have a lack of appetite? I pretty much have zero desire to eat anything.

I'm the same way at 15 weeks. I have to force myself to eat. I don't feel sick, I just don't feel hungry either.

We have two sleeping beauties in heaven.

Kali gained her wings on 07/28/2015.
They will be forever missed. <3

  • @ckis - Yes, I have been getting those too! They started at 13 weeks....not horrible pains, but def noticable. It is almost like electricity at times or just a pulsing throb pain. My stomach is also feeling achy. The stomach itself, not just my uterus. The stomach feels overly full and very stretched out, sometimes like it can't stretch anymore or is just stretching so much. The uterus pain I get is usually just on one side right next to my hip bone, and feels like a pulsing ache that comes and goes. I do get a quick pain in my entire uterus if I sneeze and sometimes like a very very light period cramp which sometimes seems connected to having gas or needing to use the bathroom. My OBG said it is all normal and round ligament pain and growing pains. Soon it will be different pains and feelings from the baby kicking :)

  • Does anyone else get really bad random tingles in their nipples? It's been happening for a few days and it's not because of any outside factor (ex: going through the freezer section). I'm just sitting at my desk and it's driving me nuts it feels so weird.

That makes me feel better  :) I just keep hearing that in the second tri your energy comes back, your appetite comes back...so far nothing. I feel the same as I did throughout the first try but with a little less nausea.

  • @becbec28 - Yes I have noticed this also....and it feels weird, almost like cold water on them but they aren't wet? And lately I have had chapping and have had to put cocoa butter lotion on them to prevent peeling. The soreness comes and goes, but some days is really bad.
  • I know @blondepeanut is a first time mom... are you @becbec28 ? I'm on my 3rd and I've had feelings of "let down" since right before my BFP. If you guys are both on your first you could be experiencing those symptoms and just not realize that's what they are. Honestly I don't know how to describe it other than feelings of goosebumps without goosebumps or a tingling that gets down to the nips. Let down is when the milk moves down through the ducts for the baby to eat. I haven't experienced any leaking yet, but asked my Dr why I felt let down so early, she just said it's completely normal, and I'm just aware of the feeling and picked up on it. This could be what you are feeling. :)

  • I was standing at work this morning when all of a sudden I started to blackout as if I was going to faint. I called my doctor and the nurse said this is apparently completely normal? And they would only need me to come in if I fully fainted. I knew dizziness could be a symptom but had not heard of almost fainting. Has anyone else dealt with this??
  • Thanks @kswiger06
I read up on that a little and was suspicious that might be it. It doesn't happen often, but I would imagine it will start to as I get further along. I'm a little nervous about leaking but excited for it because I am hoping to breastfeed

  • @Patience7150 within like 24 hours.  Hopefully yours are just visual.
  • Ugh, leaking is the worst! I would go to bed fine and wake up in the morning to a gross wet sheet and t-shirt, and I personally don't enjoy leaking during sex either. I've been paranoid about it for a while now, and constantly check myself while out in public. That's embarrassing. And yet I just realized I haven't gotten any of those nipple pad things yet. (Brain fart can't remember what they are actually called)

  • Breast pads I think......I had a coupon in a baby magazine for some. I read somewhere that not everyone leaks, but then FTM paranoia would kick in for me and I would think I don't have proper supply to breastfeed when baby comes. So many unknown things...and I let my mind wander sometimes which doesn't help lol
  • I'm a CRAZY leaker. Like I sleep on towels I change throughout the night for the first few months. I use washable pads (bamboobies) and only wear night time ones.
  • @lfrank12 With my daughter I used to get light headed while standing all the time. I constantly had to sit down. I was shopping in Michaels one time and felt like I was going to faint and I had to sit down on the floor in an aisle. I remember my doctor saying that it was normal and that the uterus is putting pressure on your blood vessels or something like that. I think there's other causes too.

  • @becbec28 idk if I'd call it tingling but I've had more like some shooting pain through my nipple a few times. One time it was at work and it was really awkward like obviously no one knew I was in pain but I also couldn't try anything to relieve it... It usually only lasts a couple minutes. In general my boobs aren't sore anymore but my nipples still are pretty sensitive/sore.

  • @lfrank12 that happens to me just about every morning. I've attributed it to low blood pressure. The nurse yesterday said to up my water intake and it should help. When it happens I try to sit down and drink some water, after 10 minutes I usually feel better.

  • @becbec28 that sounds a lot like what my letdown feels like.  It actually hurts for the first few weeks when I have milk (haven't felt it yet this pregnancy).  When I saw the lactation consultant with DD I found out it's because I have such a forceful letdown (i.e the milk moving faster/harder than is typical).  It caused DD to have trouble eating at first because I basically flooded her with milk, but I learned some ways to offset it until she was old enough to handle it and when she was older it was fantastic because she could full so fast.

Dizziness/Almost fainting- My blood pressure has always been on the low side of normal so I've always struggled with that vision going dark blacking out sensation, but it's a lot worse when I'm pregnant.  Doctor said same as yours- it's completely normal because of the difference in your blood volume with baby and your body is focusing your blood supply towards the baby.  Staying hydrated and changing positions slowly (even from one standing position to the next etc) help.  Also, I absolutely can not stand in one place for more than 5-10 minutes at a time or I will pass out.

On the topic of staying hydrated, I'm still taking Diclegis and can eat and enjoy food with it, but I'm still struggling with water.  I was drinking 64-90 oz per day before morning sickness hit and I'm struggling to get in more than 30-40 oz day.  Having it icy cold and alternating in some other drinks (lemonade, ginger ale, etc) helps me get to the 30-40 oz, but I am so thirsty and can just feel that I'm not getting enough.  Munching on grapes and watermelon help some also, but does anyone have any other tips that help you get your fluids in?

  • Has anyone experienced skin rashes? I have been getting random spots of hives from my allergies on my legs. They itch like crazy. And lots of blackheads on my nose.
  • I am so tired of puking and peeing my pants.   Thank you old lady body.

Seriously. If I have time before I start puking I try to wad a bunch of toilet paper down there so I don't have to change my pants after. TMI, but I can't be the only one!!!

  • @BlondePeanut are these hives related to pregnancy? I know you said it's allergies but is it because allergies are worse during pregnancy? What are you taking for them? I hate hives!!! They drove me crazy earlier this year.

I'm just going to say, as a FTM when I heard women talk about peeing themselves I always imagined that to be later when you were BIG pregnant. Not now, when I'm puking my guts up. It was quite an unpleasant surprise.
Rainbow baby Dean is due 2/17/17!
  • Wait so, FTMs have you already started wetting yourselves? When did you start? I'm totally dreading this!!

  • I'm a FTM and peed a little each time I sneezed the other day. It's been rather surprising.
  • Within the last week, my ridiculously huge appetite has disappeared and my ability to eat even close to normal meals is zero.  Yesterday, I got a Panera You Pick 2 and barely made it through my mac & cheese.  I felt like it sat in my stomach, like a rock, for the next couple of hours.  Much later in the afternoon, I ate my salad, mostly because I felt bad that I didn't get any veggies with lunch otherwise.  Not sure if this kind of drop-off is normal...  Especially since I've finally gotten back to exercising this week.

  • When I've had very vicious bouts of morning sickness, I have peed some of the time.

  • I legit pee every time I puke. I guess I should blame my first pregnancy for that lovely effect....

Oh man, that sucks.  I was hoping it wasn't until the subsequent pregnancies.

  • Solidarity sisters.   I use cloth pads, so those can usually do the trick.  It doesn't seem to matter if I have to pee, have just peed, etc.   I have tried a washcloth during desperate moments.

I gave in and took a nausea pill tonight and it came back up like 15 minutes later.   WTF

  • I'm with everyone on the low appetite. I usually like to eat my lunch at 11 or 11:30, but today I forgot to have it until 2! Still always find room for dinner though.
  • Ughhhh. I thought I was rid of the headaches but they're back.  Woof.

  • I didn't have issues with keeping the pee in until after I had delivered DD.  I'm positive it was delivery that really did me in because I remember standing up to go potty in the hospital after delivering and pee literally gushed everywhere.  I was so shocked that I didn't even realize it was pee.  I mean it literally just fell out, not even that I just couldn't hold it in.  I don't think that's very typical though.

Something I've learned about since having DS is that a lot of women have issues related to diastasis recti (the separation of the 2 abdominal muscles).  There's a decent amount of information available on the internet about it, but the leaking when you cough, sneeze, etc is one of the symptoms of having it.  I've been doing Olivia Cagle's programs (I did the diastasis bootcamp before getting pregnant this time and I joined her monthly fitness club after becoming pregnant) and it seems to be helping even without me being very consistent about doing the workouts.  She is extremely nice and fun to work with- you can tell she genuinely cares about helping people.  There are other people out there with diastasis programs too, I just haven't tried any of them so I can't vouch for them.  Olivia has her own website and is on Periscope, FB, youtube, and Instagram if you want to check her out.

There's hope you won't have this issue. I never did with my first, not while pregnant or after delivery. I'm hoping to get that lucky this time too.
  • Guys, on the bodily fluids topic, I have not had pee problems, but the amount of discharge I'm experiencing is unreal. I get up and pee in the morning, walk down the hall, and by the time I get to the kitchen, my panties are soaked. It's ridiculous! A couple of times I've had to go back and change panties for I could leave for work, and I can tell Hubby wants to ask why I'm changing panties so often, but he's afraid to know the answer lol. Investing in panty liners with my next pay check.

  • @silvercamaro77, I know I have diastasis recti from my first pregnancy with twins.  The leaking when not pregnant only seemed to ever happen if I really had to pee and then sneezed, lol.  This pregnancy though, sneezing, coughing and vomiting have all been bad for it.

I don't know that I could work on that while pregnant, right?  I am imagining it just gets worse each pregnancy .
