Update* I got my preliminary results back from the CVS test today stating that everything is normal... The final results will take 7 to 10 days. I am so confused, I know I'm not out of the woods yet though. .. Went for another ultrasound today and baby looks great but my placenta still has grape like cysts on part of it....
I'm sorry @alemarie1. I don't want to try to describe how I imagine you are feeling, I hope these 7-10 days go quickly and that you are able to stay as relaxed and stress free as possible. Still praying for you. (And @ljane too)
I feel like our stories are identical @alemarie1 ! I also just got my preliminary results back from the CVS and everything was normal. I was surprised, to say the least. I really was expecting to hear the worst. I should have my full results next week.
The strange thing is, I have googled high and low and have not found anyone that got this result (high risk for vanishing twin, triploidy) on their panorama test...besides here on my own birth month board! My OB was so confused by the result as she had never seen it. She had to refer to me straight to fetal medicine. (And also called the company for explanation of results).
I wonder if that error is normally so rare but happened at least twice in close succession if maybe it was a lab error? If both of your preliminary results say normal, maybe your bloodwork just wasn't processed correctly? Either way, hoping for quick, full, actual diagnostic results for you both! Glad your preliminaries both looked good!
@ljane so glad to hear the good news. When I went to the experts in Boston for my CVS test they said they didn't know too much about the Paneroma and there wasn't a lot of data on the test having the ability to detect Triploidy. I'm so glad I got another opinion because my doctor basically told me to terminate the pregnancy. What an emotional roller coaster, here's to the week flying by and normal results for us both!
@alemarie1 Wow! I can't believe your doctor would tell you to terminate based on just the panorama test results. My normal OB didn't even try to explain the results, just referred me to fetal medicine. There, one of the first things the genetic counselor said was that these NIPT tests were NOT diagnostic tests. Basically, that they simply screen for the RISK of different problems. She also said something along the lines that the accuracy they claim, some 99%, is somewhat misleading. I was confused as to why it was misleading...but I've read something similar to what she said several places.
It has been an emotional roller coaster!!! I've been trying to mentally prepare myself for every possible outcome here...

I'm so sorry that they said that to you, but I'm glad that you got a second opinion. Crossing my fingers for you and L Jane that everything comes back positive!
