I had my 38 week apt yesterday!! Crazy that it's so close. Some progress made - now 1.5 cm dilated and she could feel the baby's head; happy that he's still head down but I spotted like a MF afterwards.
Since she could feel the head, I asked her if he was low or lower, response was "oh no he's way up there, you are really going to have to work to push him out". Yikes.
She gave me a lot of info which was good. Bottom line, if no baby at 41 weeks we will plan an induction, she recommends waiting until active labor to get an epidural since they can slow labor, but she would "never refuse to give a patient one if they wanted it". 2 night stay for vaginal, 3-4 night stay for c section. I probably should have known some of this ahead of time but hey, better late than never!
Wednesday- Growth scan and baby is under the 10 percentile, good news everything looks good, fluid levels, heart rate, movement, cord. So she appears just to be tiny! So they told me I am getting induced on Tuesday!!!
Today's appt was a quick ultrasound and an NST. Baby still looks perfect and tiny. Can't believe only 4 more sleeps until I am induced!!
Me: 32 DH: 31
TTC #2 since January 2018
Baby #1 DD Born 8/25/2016 BFP: 8/11/18 Due: 4/26/18
34 week appointment today. After my almost passing out this morning she is checking a few things specifically electrolytes, thyroid, and for anemia. Everything else is good and baby boy is head down although not engaged in the pelvis yet
Had my almost 38-week appointment today (my last prenatal visit!).
After being on the low end of the weight gain curve, I've gained 13 pounds in water weight in my feet and legs in the last 3 weeks (6 pounds in the last week alone), but my doctor's not worried. It's probably just the weight of the babies trapping fluid in my legs since it's all from the thighs down. My feet and ankles are enormous.
My blood pressure was just barely elevated this time (first time ever), but again, doctor's not worried. It's probably because of the circulation issues I'm having with my legs.
Babies looked great on their NST ("those are happy babies!") and I'm still not really having contractions, have plenty of fluid in both sacs and no sign of labor starting on its own. I think that if I left these boys alone, they'd probably go to 40+ weeks in spite of being twins, given my lack of progress and family history.
Baby B turned transverse (head down and legs and lower back across the top of my stomach) since last week, but we're still going with the c-section. I probably could have fought for an attempt at a vaginal delivery, but I feel more comfortable with the c/s since I know it's coming and that there's a good chance I'd end up needing it anyway.
So as long as I don't go into labor between now and then, I'm just sitting around waiting for Wednesday morning/afternoon to meet my little guys!
NST today and it went really well. BP is up a bit, but nothing out of the norm for me in the office. Just 5 more appointments until baby day! Woot woot!
@katiey23 I'm positive for GBS, and I was with DS1, too. My sister was with her twins, too. Both DS1 and my sister's twins came out perfectly healthy, no GBS complications. The only real difference was just needing antibiotics during labor. They gave me penicillin, and it burned a little at first, but when I told the nurse she diluted it more and it didn't burn after that.
