Baby movement

I am 26weeks 4 days and just this last week baby has been a lot less active than usual. She use to move for about 10 min every time I would Lay down. Now she only will do a couple small kicks maybe after awhile of laying down. Anyone else experiencing this?

Re: Baby movement

  • I can't relate but I would try calling the doctor and asking him/her what they think.

  • I'm also in my 26th week and notice some days baby is really active and then less so on others. I do also take into consideration if I've been walking around or sitting. You know your pregnancy best and if you have a real big concern that something is wrong then call your Dr. and see what they say.
  • I emailed back and forth with the Doctor today. They said I can come in if I want to make sure everything is good! Baby did start kicking a little more today so thinking she may have just repositioned herself where I don't feel it as often! Just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced to settle my paranoid brain !
  • This happened to me last week. I was really freaked out because I didn't feel her moving much at all for 3 days and now she's back to doing yoga on my bladder. I was about to call the dr but she started moving a lot again so I didn't.
  • I just talked to my doctor about this Monday. She said the babies are still small enough that they can find places where they're really just pushing around amniotic fluid when they move. She said that's why their office waits to recommend kick counts until 28 weeks, the babies should be big enough by then that you're feeling them when they move. I'm a FTM so I had no idea, but I'll still be paranoid and call them if I get really worried!  :p

  • I was worried Monday because she always moves around when I wake up in bed in the morning, but she didn't.  I drank my tea and cold water and she finally woke up.  Today and yesterday she's been back to her normal, wiggly self.  It's hard when they go through slow days, or when their movement habits change!

  • Glad to hear I'm not the only one! I emailed my doctor and then now she has started to be more active again thank goodness!
  • Thank you! She has been starting to be more active again since I talked to the doctor!
  • My son has been less active the past week but my DR reassured me that as long as I feel some movement at least once a day everything should be fine. She also reminded me that he's growing a significant amount right now and might just be sleeping a little more then before.
  • Drinking cold water and reclining may help. I rarely feel her during the day but when I sit down with a cold drink she goes nuts.
  • Last night my girl sat and kicked my bladder or my cervix (or both) and it was really painful...I had to maneuver myself a few times for her to finally stop. I'm happy she's moving, but sometimes I'm like dude...quit it lol
  • This should probably go under the TMI thread but the times I find baby girl most active are when I have to go #2. As soon as I realize I have to go, she starts flipping and kicking like no one's business. I guess she doesn't enjoy sharing the limited space oh my abdominal cavity.
  • In addition to cold water, sugar often does the trick to get baby wiggling around for me. Juice is probably the fastest, but also fruit (or ice cream, lol).
  • I go through the same thing. With all the info available I am on high alert with everything this time around. I feel as my little one's swimming room gets tighter and tighter, there is less room to back stroke. He moves when i'm relaxed most of the time. My Doctor has said that my movement most likely soothes him and he is most relaxed when i'm moving around. If I start to worry, i do some light exercises then rest and sure enough a few minutes later I'm like ... I woke the dancing king!!!
