  • Hmm, hadn't thought about what I'd wear at all, only Baby. Unless we find something else we like better, we're planning on the Little Peanut bodysuit from this collection.

  • question for STMs: I was thinking that I should take a newborn size and a 0-3months, in case baby is over 7lbs (we have some big baby genetic history!) Thoughts on that?
  • I was reading online that 7-8 lbs still fit in newborn sizing for a month or so. We got like 10 of each sizing

My son wore a Detroit Tigers onesie. His sister will wear a Detroit Tigers onesie with a Tigers bow  <3
  • Unless your baby is over 9lbs, he or she will still fit in newborn clothes. DD was 7lb6oz and fit in newborn clothes for about a month.

  • I had to buy premiee clothes for all 3 kids for the first 3/4 weeks and they were 6.8,5.14,6.5 so plan on doing the same for DS2 just haven't bought any yet. I always bring a NB size incase tho.
  • @jmama1611 I love gowns they are my favorite but not until we get home because it's not practical for a car seat. Those are aborable!

I have this set too (except long sleeve) and so far was planning on the "hello I'm new here" onesie for going home.

  • This poor baby sister will be getting all hand me downs but I'm determined to get her a brand new coming home outfit!
I'm smitten with these footed pant suits, so I'll probably grab one of these:

  • Eh, my son was 9lb 8oz, 21.5" and he was in newborn for a few weeks, so just a heads up.

I've had two babies weighing more than 8lb and the newborn outfits fit fine.

  • My first was 8 lbs 9 oz and wore newborn size for atleast a few weeks. I haven't quite decided on a homecoming outfit yet, but I think I want a sweet, classic smocked dress. Both of my other kids they had a nice dress that was only worn for that occasion and we still have today
  • I have no idea, really. I probably won't get something until a bit later on. Not just because I don't have a good idea of how big sweet pea may be when he's born yet, but also because I live in Florida. In November, it could be 85 degrees or it could be 65 degrees. So we'll just have to see once it gets towards the end of October.

Here in Texas, so I have the same predicament. Atleast there are blankets!
  • If we come home on a Sunday, this is the only appropriate outfit for her to wear.

Any other day of the week and I'll probably dress her in the "Daddy's Girl" onesie that my sister made for our gender reveal (white, with gold glitter letters).
  • @Seattleite86 Where did you get these? So freaking cute!
  • @MrsMaryK2016 they are a Quebec brand so not sure they sell in the US! The brand is Souris Mini, i think they do ship from their site to US though! www.sourismini.com
  • My plan is just to see what kind of outfits we get at a shower and pick the cutest of the bunch. Or he might be in an oufit we already have that is a onesie with matching pants with a puppy on the butt. I love all baby outfits with things on the butt
  • That is adorable @mayergirl920
I'm looking for a Bruins one I like. We will see how it goes.
  • I always go for comfort and put them in footed pjs lol.

    Stuck in the box.
My son was almost 10lb as well.
Was so thankful for my co-workers that suggested I return all newborn items for 0-3 month ones. He only had 2 items in newborn size and 0-3 fit great.

Both my boys were a little over 8 lbs each and they fit into newborns after delivery. Of course, it can depend on the brand. I found some Gerber onesies for 6-12 months that were more suitable for 0-3 months.
  • I got this outfit with a white hat with his name on it
  • @RhodaMorgenstern, I love it! Not every outfit nor every decision about baby has to be "most practical". I like celebrating special occasions and one way I celebrate is with special outfits. I think a tiny dress is just fine for a coming home outfit. Even if it's cold, you're not going to be outside for long anyway since I assume you'll be driving home. And while most days my newborn will be in footed pajamas, I'll dress her up for Christmas too, practical or not.

Gerber everything runs super small...at least 3 sizes for the most part.

  • @RhodaMorgenstern love the dress. You can always put long pants under the dress and socks. Top her off with blankets and she will be fine.
  • We already have too many outfits that qualify as coming home clothes - Just occurred to me that maybe I shud look for a turkey theme onesie since baby is due thanksgiving hmmm
  • I had a 9 lber my with my first..... I had a newborn outfit that I brought with to the hospital..... (It didn't fit) Thankfully, my mom had bought a cute 0-3 mth boy and 0-3 girl outfit for me prior.  (She must have known it was not going to fit :)
