@rnyland1 I think I don't help the situation because I rarely ask for help until I let myself get frustrated or pissed off. I need to be more proactive about asking him to do things that truly are hard for me because I am sooo pregnant.
I went so overdue with DD that we've already scheduled an appointment for August 2nd (3 days after EDD). We've always scheduled 2 appointments ahead even though I'm pretty sure they would discourage it at this point. We ask the doctor what the next few appointments entail and just tell the receptionist when we want one since DH is insistent on being there and has to work it around his job. Still needing to prepare myself for the possibility of baby coming sooner. I've remained like 95% confident this will be an August baby, but am realizing I'm running out of time to work on my to do list and should be ready just in case.
My friend with a 2 yr old and an 8 month old invited us to the museum today. I want to go but it's the first time I'll have taken William out of the house to something other than a Dr appt and the first time alone. I still sit in the backseat with him when we go anywhere! I'm terrified! He's 3.5 weeks and I'm not at all confident in my mom skills outside the house.
@jennyleigh16 is there any way your friend can pick you up or carpool? I can see that being really scary but it should be easier when you have a friend to lean on if you need to!
This morning DH mentioned going to the zoo with the kids after we took Lukas for his jaundice check (I've been to the pediatrician more times than I can count since he's been born!) I thought it was a really good idea since I've been sick with a virus all week and it's the first day I've felt okay. The plan was to all go to the dr together and grab lunch then head to the zoo. At the last minute DH decides he wasn't going to the dr but to the gym instead. So I ended up pissed off and hauling all three kids to the dr by myself. I made him feel like shit about it so he ended up not going to the gym which pissed me off more. Now that I'm home DH has been asleep on the couch for 3 hours and we've ended up doing nothing. I'm bored since I actually feel better today. To make matters worse I actually showered did my hair and put on make up for the first time in a while. DH didn't even acknowledge that I was trying to look decent for the first Time since being home from the hospital. I think Ima throw myself a pitty party and eat lots of ice cream.
@jjtruffles I am so sorry you are being torn between the two most important people in your life. That is so incredibly hard and unfair of both of them to put you through that! Hang in there and just focus on your little one and know we are all here to support you as well. Sending lots of creepy internet hugs!
Mentioned to my mom that we are taking our newborn photos on Monday morning. She arrives in town Monday evening to "help." So then she says "Oh, so I don't get to be in the newborn photos?!" Uhhhh I've never heard of anyone putting their mother in their newborn photo shoot. To me it should just be the birth parents and siblings....maybe this is a thing with some of you though? Just want to make sure I'm not crazy.
@rnyland1 I don't know your mother, but I could totally see her trying to sneak in the background of one of the pictures. Like your LO is in a basket in the foreground and in the background she is some creepy blob peeking around a corner.
@whataboutscience@babycakesday As someone due on the literal LAST day of July...this baby will probably be an August baby. The dr yesterday told me to go ahead and schedule like 2 more appointments for after my due date and they induce at week 41. So...she's coming some time between August 1 and August 8. Unless she takes pity on me and comes early...
In L&D right now....LO gave us a surprise just as I sat down to dinner and my water broke.....I have to commend his timing....just got back from a mani/pedi (I caved) and DH made tacos so I got to eat! He was so considerate! Off we go......
Well, I change my mind completely and pray this is a July baby. I am having pretty obnoxious contractions anytime I stand today. They are not regular, but I can only hope it means this baby comes soon if it continues. I never felt like this with DD, and I carried her for 19 more days before I was induced.
@jodi1980 Good luck :) Anyone had their bloody show after sex? I've been crampy all day and decided to randomly try sex and had a bit of spotting after, don't know if it was my actual bloody show as it was only spotting!
@setosh I can't tell myself, I haven't had spotting since like 19 weeks. I'll have to just keep an eye on it and see if it increases or if my cramps get worse :O
Went a while with contractions every 2.5-3 minutes but only lasting 40 seconds or so. Sitting down, they seemed to have slowed but not disappeared. DH is freaking out and has his bag packed. I'm waiting for a call back from the doctor, but I swear they calmed down as soon as I call and I feel dumb for calling (DH dialed and handed me the phone).
@sboston06 my friend doesn't drive. It worked out OK. We ended up just going to the the park instead of the museum since it was late in the day by the time we rallied the troops.
The munchkin gave me a heart attack while I was driving though. He went from screaming his head off to completely silent in an instant and he was out cold. I was reaching back at a stoplight poking the top of his head to see if he would move and was still breathing! Finally saw a foot move and calmed down lol.
"You look tired today". Yes, yes I do. 39+ weeks pregnant. It's almost 100 outside with 90% humidity. I'm lugging around my work bag in and out of my car and patient homes for 10 hrs a day.
I am tired and and cranky and whiney and I don't want to work anymore.
We had crazy storms last night with our area being hit the hardest. So much flood damage and trees down! We had a tree down behind our apartment building and got a call from our landladies this morning asking us to move our car to the neighboring lot so the truck could get through to take care of the tree. One of the landladies then went door to door in my building asking the same question. As I was going up the stairs, she was coming down-she was going to offer to take my keys and move my car for me since they know I have a baby. She's the same lady who, a few months ago, took the massive package our crib came in over to us in her truck because it wouldn't fit in either of our cars. I almost cried, she's so sweet! Since I was almost out the door, I moved my car myself, but I was so touched that she offered. It's the little things!
@sboston06 That sounds like me!!! I can barely sleep anyways but I think subconsciously every pain could be the start of something real and every time I go to the bathroom I hope things keep trickling out when I stop peeing! hehe
Having lots of pressure down below right now, belly feels tight too. Sadly, no major pain just a back ache that seems to come and go as it pleases. Waiting for something to happen so I can go to the hospital and see if they'll at least check me out and see if I'm dilated at all.
One of my favorite bands are coming within an hour of my houwe. I'm debating on going. I am dying to see concert and when I was pregnant a lot of my favorites came and I couldn't go. Tickets are dirt cheap and my usual concert buddy is game. Plus its on a night DH is off and he's encouraging me to go.I just feel guilty leaving the baby so long. I wouldn't have to stay over night but it would be super late when we got back home.... I'm torn
Today is my birthday. Baby could come today and that would be pretty cool. Due Tuesday...don't see it as I am feeling pretty normal but whatever I guess. I am so over hurrying up and waiting to meet this little girl. I did it once and was hoping I didn't have to do it twice.
@whataboutscience congrats!!! I'm so happy for you and that the contractions were a real deal! I was rooting for you and hoping you would go into labor naturally this time!!!
