I have the Ergo baby insert (friend gave me hers), now just need the carrier! Waiting until after our shower this upcoming weekend to see what we get. I was also looking at the Baby K'Tan - which is better, the K'Tan or the Moby??
I'm totally getting like...four carriers. Five if you count the camo one my H wanted. #cantstopwontstop. I have the Baby K'Tan for the squish stage and the Lillebaby Complete for when he gets bigger. I'm also going to be purchasing a ring sling and a Nesting Days carrier/top because why not? I really want to try everything!
The irony in all this is that when I was a baby I HATED the carrier. Like, I would stick my arms and legs straight out to keep from being put in it. So hopefully my little one doesn't take after me and is a snugglebug!

I'm also looking to try several types of carriers. I got a k'tan for the itty bitty squish stage and I'm hoping to get a Tula for when they get bigger. I've honestly thought about if baby carrying works out well, when would you use a stroller?

I have a Moby and an Ergo I plan to try. Also I'm a member of a local babywearing group on Facebook. They have meetings once a month where you can go to get advice and try on other carriers. They even have a "library" of carriers you can rent to try out for a few weeks.
@penelope4612: I got mine on Thursday. I'm told them my due date is 12/7 and the coupon says its good from 10/18 to 3/6/2017, so I think that its meant to be good starting 50 days prior to your due date.
When I asked BRU about the completion coupon during one of my stops in, they said to just come to the registry counter and ask for it when we plan to do it. I didn't know that they were supposed to come in the mail. We haven't done ours yet, but our due date isn't until 12/22 and I want to get it done in the next two weeks.

I just got mine by email actually, and then tried to use it online and it didn't work. I was too tired to call to figure it out.
1. Does anyone know when the Amazon completion discount expires? 2. We have 2 swings and 2 rock n plays but our house is pretty small and I'm not sure we need to keep two of each, plus I still wanted to get a bouncer. So is one of these worth trading/selling to get a bouncer or should I keep the extras for either of them?
@ashleaf2018 1. It's good for 180 days after the due date on your registry. 2. I'm a FTM but if the swings/rock n plays are different designs, I'd keep them all and see which ones he likes best before selling/trading. I have two swings as well and that's my plan!
@ashleaf2018 Since we had to downsize, I decided to stick with an auto RNP and keep the bouncer we already had. I wanted a swing and a RNP, but I think I'm getting the best of both worlds since it rocks itself and still has the incline. Plus, the one I got plugs into the wall so I don't have to go through a ton of batteries.
I do like @karmba 's suggestion though! We just don't have the room to do that now. Wump.
@ashleaf2018 - I have heard that most babies like the RnP where the swing seems to be more hit or miss. Is there any chance that the baby will be spending a lot of time at anyone else's house (like grandparents)? Because if so you may want to keep one for them to use.
Thanks for all the suggestions! The rock n plays are the exact same auto rock n play, so I think we'll keep the one we bought and pass on the other one. As for the swings they are two different ones so we may keep both and see which one he likes better. FI's mom runs an in home daycare so she already has all that stuff. My grandma doesn't really have the room for a lot of extra stuff and I'll probably wear him in the sling when we go over there.
We registered for a swing, rocker/bouncer and a RnP (which we plan to keep in our bedroom for sleep). We didn't get the swing (got the other 2) and it's on my "do we really need it? list". I think SIL still has their swing, so if they can find it somewhere in their attic, I may ask to borrow if it's still in a good condition, and see if he even likes it before either just taking theirs fir the time being or finding a new one. She did say that most of their stuff (their youngest is 4 now) can be used to fill in what we didn't get, so I may go that route and just harass her about finding it.
We will also have limited space in our upstairs living room (where he'll be most of the time), so the least amount of stuff, the better. Plus, we'll have our Christmas Tree up when baby arrives and that takes up most of the extra room we do have... so some rearranging may be needed for a bit.

I got the Ergo (yay, thanks brother!) but wondering if the infant insert is necessary? Anyone have thoughts on this? Or have tried the blanket-rolled-in-the-bottom method?
@Andlolosays I have the Ergo 360 and I would absolutely say yes, the infant insert is a must. For my DH and I ( in early second trimester ) we could tell a huge difference in space with and without the insert. The insert provides the support a little baby needs, and then is easily removed as he or she grows. Don't be stingy with a towel in this case. Just my two cents.
Has anyone already used their Amazon completion discount. I just used mine yesterday but none of the stuff I bought is marked as purchased off the registry and we didn't get credit towards the free diaper promotion (even for things that I couldn't use the completion discount on). I am bummed.
@Toller - our registry does show the promotion but I spent $250 yesterday and it's not registering on the amount spent. I am wondering if you can't use the completion discount and use the money towards the promotion, which would suck.
Is your registry linked to more than 1 Amazon account? We initially registered under DHs account bc he has Amazon Prime and I can only access the free diaper promotion from his account, even though my account is linked to the registry.
Flannel receiving blankets vs muslin swaddle blankets. After my shower I have 20-something flannel ones and 12 muslin ones. Do I need both? How many? I'm thinking some exchanges are in order?
@tinattt23 that is a lot of receiving blankets and I would return some of those. I used the muslin ones for everything- car seat covers, snuggle blankets (my toddler slept with one or two on him in the summer), blankets to lie on the floor for tummy time, nursing covers, etc. Receiving blankets I didn't use much because they're so much smaller. I would fold them in half and put them on the changing pad to use that as a cover to keep the pad dry, or change baby on them while out.

But you should definitely contact them if the promo doesn't show up within a few days!!
