@penelope4612 Thank you! I'm actually asking because we went to BBB yesterday and I was so overwhelmed with the choices! I sat in the Dutailier and it was amazing but I was worried about the moving parts. The Sona chair you linked is definitely similar to the one I was eyeballing at BBB... Husband seems to prefer armchair style but I'm not so sure. There are so many things to keep in mind - back support, leg support (in case we want to recline and sleep in the chair for a bit), arm support and arm comfort, how well it moves and feels, fabric type - it's overwhelming! Thank you for your insight!
Our GB X1 Urban Runner stroller came in the mail today! Courtesy of FIL and Step-MIL. It was so easy to set up and super easy to fold up. Handles like a dream! Very happy with it, and I can't wait to push Ashton around while I get back into running!
@dmontgo Love the real color! Super pretty! My stroller/car seat came in the mail to my parents house so I don't to move it across the country. Jealous you can take yours out and play with it!
@aevan011 We tested this stroller out in BRU a couple of months ago--we were driving it all around the store lol. I'd recommend trying some out when you go to a store. We joked about putting Rowdy in the Ergo, but he must have known because he hid under the bed...
@dmontgo the closest thing to a baby store we have here is Target. I think they have 5 strollers. -_- Hopefully we can take a weekend trip to Dallas or San Antonio to do this fun testing stuff in big stores! Here's how I tested the baby slings I picked up:

@aevan011 - I'm in SA so if I can help you out, let me know!
This is somewhat related to gear, but maybe belongs on the Registry thread... feel free to yell at me if so!
Has anyone had problems with people using BabyList? I am concerned that some of my older family members and friends may have trouble understanding that it's online and there is no in store registry that they can print out. Does it make sense to also have store registries with the same stuff and just monitor BabyList to make sure it's up to date? I think my sister is throwing me a shower in October so I have some time, but wanted to pick your collective brains Any and all thoughts are welcome!! TIA!
@ea301 - I haven't used Baby List for myself but bought a friend a gift using it once. I honestly found it annoying. We wanted to send a gift (they live out of state) and didn't realize initially that the list was compiled from all different places, so we put a few things in our cart and realized one was from Amazon and one was from somewhere else, which meant paying shipping twice, blah blah blah. So then we had to go back and figure out what was from Amazon and order items only from there.
I ended up doing a Baby's R Us registry and an Amazon registry separately specifically so some people could buy things in store and others could order online. But it is hard because then you either have to list things twice or risk someone buying you something off registry someplace without realizing that it's on your registry elsewhere. I figure we'll just return stuff if we need to. People did relatively ok for our wedding.
@ea301 I started registries at Target and BRU and linked them to my Babylist registry, to give people options. But that was at my MIL's request. I like that it gives me access to the vast selection of items that is online.

@ea301 I have my main Amazon registery that I made first. It's on the list soon to go make our babies r us one. It's mainly going to be for those people who don't like online shopping. Mostly lower cost items. Things that aren't a big deal if they're duplicated like blankets, towels, bibs, etc.
I have a random question. I thought I had decided on which double stroller I wanted, and was just looking for the right deal on craigslist to come up. But then I started seeing people on this facebook group I'm in talking about what strollers they were using until babies are bigger. Can little newborns not safely be in the side by side strollers? FTM, totally clueless here.
@brittnic86 - it depends upon the stroller. I think some are safe for infants but others are not, so you want to check the specific stroller that you're thinking of buying. For example, I want the city mini GT, but baby jogger (the brand that makes it) says it is not safe until 6 months because there is no support to help keep babies head upright. Since you are having twins, there is the possibility that they will be born earlier and/or smaller than average, so you'll want to pay particular attention to the lower weight on both your stroller and car seats.
I think many people get strollers that they can snap the car seats into when the baby is still and infant bc then they don't have to take the baby out of the car seat (and potentially wake it up) when they are out and about. This could be one that is just a frame designed specifically for this purpose, or it could be a regular stroller that has an adaptor that you can use so that your regular stroller is also compatable with an infant car seat (called a travel system). But I'm not sure how many double strollers actually have the capability to snap in 2 infant seats.

The chicco double stroller does. I'm not having twins, but I have been looking at this stroller for my 2 year old and new LO
@penelope4612 that's the stroller I want! The city mini double. I dunno. I don't really want to buy multiple strollers. We have infant and convertible car seats. Maybe we'll just use carriers for a bit?
@brittnic86 - we are just getting the GT single but we are purchasing the car seat adaptor so that we can snap in our car seat for the first 6 months. It is some stupid price (like $40 or something) so getting 2 would be annoying but at least then you only have to buy the one stroller. I think on the single you can also take the seat out if the car seat is attached which reduces the weight a little.
Idk how much the stroller is on Craigslist but I know pish posh baby just had the 2015 model on sale for the GT single so I got it for over $100 off compared to the newer model. Now might be a good time to look for a deal if you'd consider buying a new one.
I've seen infant support pads for strollers that give them head support, so I'm going to get one of those. You slide the straps through the support, then buckle as normal. I haven't seen anything saying it's unsafe to use one.
It also kinda depends on what you are using the stroller for. We had a single bob for dd1 and would use the carseat for the first 4 months. After that, she was fine to sit in there for walks but we still used the carseat for running until 6 months. Of course bob says not to run with babies under 6 months at all...but DD had great head control very early and I wasn't concerned. They also say don't run with the carseat because it's a tip risk.
Now we have a bob dualie and bought the adapter for 1 car seat.
@brittnic86 One thing I am considering when picking my double stroller is if it can fit through a door. Some side by side strollers cannot, so I am getting the kind that is long, and narrow. This may be something to consider when out and about. I am looking at the Chicco Cortina double stroller, it can fit two infant car seats and then transition to a toddler stroller. Seems like I'll be able to use it for a while.
I am also debating to wait on a stroller or not. I am not sure how much I am going to be 'out and about' with the twins once they are here, at least for the first few months.
@swhiddon33 We bought a Moonlight Slumber dual foam mattress that has a green certification, is hypoallergenic, and has no PVC and chemicals in. We also put some organic bedding from Land of Nod on our registry that someone was gracious enough to get us.
Our biggest reason for getting a chemical free mattress is simply because we don't know if Ashton will have any kind of eczema or allergies, and baby skin is sensitive anyway. The mattress was a little bit of a splurge at $200, but it has two sides so it can be used when we convert his crib to a toddler bed and reviews indicate it lasts a long time.
I think it's really a matter of personal preference, and there will likely be a mattress cover and a fitted sheet over it anyway. So I wouldn't beat yourself up over it or let it stress you too much!
Thanks @dmontgo. I'm very much leaning that direction but hesitate to register for such a pricey item, among the other things I consider "big ticket wishes." I'm really struggling overall with registry etiquette. I've never done one of any kind before (we had a very intimate wedding and no gifts). Thank you for your input!
@swhiddon33 We bought the Sealy Natural Luxary. It has a Green Guard seal which means it's emissions are low if none at all. I wanted to do an organic mattress but all of them contain soy and I have a soy allergy and we aren't sure if Leif will have one or not so we choose to stay away from it since we just don't know.

@swhiddon33 I say put it on your registry even if it's expensive. Worst case scenario no one gets it, but you still get a discount. Best case, they get it for you!
I felt bad putting an expensive stroller, the Ergo360, etc on my registry because the prices ranged from close to $200-500! But, we still got our stroller, the Ergo, and someone has offered to get our carseat. They weren't upset or thought less of me. I'm glad I bit the bullet and let people help us with the expensive stuff because it adds up quickly!
I initially felt weird about registering for expensive things too, but eventually just did it. I mean you do need it, and the registry is for the things you need. If someone wants to purchase it, that's wonderful, if not, it becomes a checklist for what you need to get and in some places you get a discount for completing the registry. You didn't demand anyone buy it for you, but it's there if they want to.
We have that sealy mattress @ErikandAfton and we really like it and will be using it for this baby when ds gets his twin bed this fall.
We didn't do organic sheets though. Baby bedding has to reach a certain level of flame retardants on it or something. Plus you'll be changing sheets and stuff so often that spending that extra money seemed crazy to me.
We registered for a Sealy mattress with a soybean-foam core. I honestly didn't think about soy allergies but neither FI or I have any food allergies, so we might be safe on that front. It had really good reviews which is mostly what I was looking for, plus baby could have FI's skin condition. We wanted everything to be as gentle as possible.

On the note about changing sheets so often...my DD has only had 1 issue requiring a sheet change. I hate to admit but it's not unheard of for her sheet to be changed only once a month or two. I'm sure that will change as she gets older and stuff, but for now...yeah. once a month is fine.
I love the ultimate crib sheets to put over the pretty sheets. It makes cleaning up poop explosions, spit up, and leaks easier to clean up especially in the middle of the night.

I have a huge number of food allergies, thankfully all are mild. Dh is convinced Leif won't have them but you never know so for me it just made sense to avoid the soy. Dh and I were laughing while we were picking out the mattress at just how many had soy in them!

anyone heard of this Crescent Womb business? It's been "referred" to us but I've never heard of it before. I'm a FTM though and so mooooost things are new to me
