Heart burn! It's like burn baby burn over here. I sleep with three pillows under my head.
Yup, 27 weeks and all the heartburn. I have bottles upon bottles of antacids stashed everywhere. Pepcid AC seems to work well if I take it prior to meals, but it's expensive so I only use it if we're out to dinner, at a party, or eating something particularly heartburn-inducing (like pizza). Smaller meals helps, but it means I'm eating every two hours. Argh.
I posted about this in my bitchfest, but this is my life right now so I'm going to talk about it more. Thursday night I had such terrible cramps all over my left leg that they wouldn't go away until I put a TENS machine on them. Since then, my left calf has been sore and tense and I haven't been able to ease it with stretching or anything. It hasn't gone away and that ankle is noticeably more swollen than the right. The asymmetrical swelling happened a few weeks ago and went away after one night of elevation. This one was better in mornings, but came back two days in a row. Last night (Sunday) I remembered about DVT and the more I read, the more worried I got that I had it. I sobbed for a long time last night (and raised my blood pressure more than ten points at the time) just imagining my poor husband losing his wife and being stuck alone with a super-preemie, or worse, losing his wife and unborn child. So today I called the doctor's office, got through to the doctor on call (it was closed for the 4th), and she strongly suggested going to the ER. So I went, and my husband was with me the whole time even though I tried to encourage him to spare himself. They did a scan and didn't find anything, which may or may not mean there really isn't anything. I still don't know why else my leg would bother me so much, unless it's a new manifestation of my previous back/nerve problems.
So, you don't really need to read all that, I just needed to vent. I wouldn't even worry half so much about me all alone if there weren't a baby involved.
@tinylisa84 the restless leg syndrome keeps me up every night. Sometimes my husband gives me a leg massage and that helps a little, but not always. Meditation sometimes helps (by which I mean counting very slowly to 500 and back down to 1 - I'm usually asleep before I get to 500).
@AllyTheKid I remember the hemorrhoids from the end of the first pregnancy. I am not looking forward to those again. Did you get them earlier this time than the first?
My symptoms are the same as they have been - slight nausea after dinner or after sugary food, heartburn, restless legs, getting up to pee too many times at night (and having a hard time falling back asleep afterwards), and discomfort sleeping. Some dizziness and cramping, especially with activity.
@bnsmith85 I wish dairy helped, it doesn't. The only thing that does is gaviscon and it's got mixed things regarding pregnancy so I try to only use when it's horrible.

@ignoscemihi Yes, but only because they never "went away" after my first or second so now they are easily irritated and inflamed. I kid you not, after I finally had DD (first), my butt hole literally looked like a cluster of grapes... now (TMI alert) it just looks like a starfish. I really have no room to complain comparatively, but it's still unpleasant to have to bite my lip and practice labor breathing while I'm trying to go poop without ripping a 'roid.
so the frequent peeing used to be just like a few drops, but now I must have been retaining water bc I was up like 5 times and let go so much water that I lost 3lbs. wtf body???
@tinylisa84 I've been getting RLS too. I agree that meditation can help (I like a body scan meditation or progressive muscle relaxation). Maybe it's just me, but I've recently noticed that my RLS is majorly intensified by having sugar before bed. I'm really trying to not have dessert or sweet snacks after 7:30 or 8pm (I go to bed 9:30-10pm). It's helped a lot so far. When I have sugar late at night, I may be mentally exhausted but my legs want to go for a run (and I hate running...), it's so annoying!
Count me in for insomnia as well. I can fall asleep easily, but after 4 hours or so I get uncomfortable and then I'm wide awake. Heartburn and hemorrhoids have also begun. 3rd tri is going to be so much fun...
The nightly hip pain, sciatica, heartburn, and leg cramps. The other night we were up really late washing the sheets so I fell asleep in the recliner, but it's been one of the best nights sleep I've had in awhile.
The only thing that bothers me right now is sciatic pain on my right side. Heartburn is always there, but I had it bad before pregnancy. So I'm used to it.
@JamieK1882 I take (1) 25 mg Benadryl to help me sleep and keep from being so congested at night. Works like a charm.
Married 11-11-11 TTC only since Dec 2015. I had some weight to get off. Been working hard in the gym for over a year. BFP 02-15-16 with our first IT'S A BOY!!!
@AllyTheKidI quite literally feel your pain. Your descriptions are spot on and exactly my situation after DS was born. It's so hideous and uncomfortable. Thanks, kids.
Kind of gross, but I am still having "dark" discharge - the only way I really know to describe it. Not really spotting, but kind of a dark yellow/tan/brownish color now. I have had two ultrasounds since this started & nothing seems amiss with me or the baby currently, but I have bi-weekly appts set up now to check this. My doctor can't really pinpoint a reason, other then perhaps my cervix is just easily irritated. But I have refrained from "vigorous" activity & sex for 2 weeks and is still happening.
I really think insomnia sucks... Last night I only slept like 3 hours. Besides that, my belly feeling like is about to explode at any time, swollen feet, I have a new one...
Night sweats!!! I woke up the other night with my tank all wet, the room was cool, normally I would be using a blanket but, there I was, laying in a tank top and panties sweating like if were doing crossfit while sleeping.
@bnsmith85 That happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Once the pain stopped, I popped. It is starting to do it a littl emore so I think I'm growing again.
I had my gestational diabetes test this morning and my level was 50. They immediately started freaking out saying I needed to lay down and eat something. I felt completely fine but now, 2 hours later, I feel so light headed and dizzy! And I ate 2 hours before my test and a small something after it. Anyone else have a really low reading?
@F47 I am terribly sorry that you have the same affliction! It is probably the least sexy of all things that have happened to my body thus far... I think I would rather have stretch marks, but we don't get to pick our battle scars. Hemorrhoids and spider veins here.
@Kaessi If it eases your mind at all, I had spotting pretty much my entire pregnancy with LO, dark discharge on the 'light' days. Obviously it was worse after sex and what not, buy other than being annoying it wasn't problematic and little guy was A-Okay!
Thanks for the reassurance @AllyTheKid ! I haven't really known anyone else that has experienced this so it's good to know someone that's had similar symptoms & all was well!
The past few days (end of week 25/beg week 26) I have been starving and tired. I guess baby boy is having a growth spurt or something but most of my 4th of July weekend was spent napping or eating

I am tired a lot, I have had a lot going on though so I am hoping that is just the problem. But I cannot get enough sleep these days. Swollen feet and they hurt so bad especially the day after a large swollen episode. Also unable to get comfortable while sleeping, legs and arms falling asleep depending how I fell asleep in the first place. Hips and lower back ache like crazy, especially while standing around shopping or walking around.
@sportiegrl1213 I try to reserve Benadryl for only dire situations lol. With my first pregnancy, I developed hypertension and had ringing in my ears constantly during 3rd tri, so I was desperate and would take it then. I'm trying to hold off in case that happens again. Do you take it every night?
Put me down in the vag pain and swollen achy feet train. Also, maybe it was all of the excitement and activity from the weekend, but I feel like I hit a wall. I am SO exhausted.
@RainMira9e so sorry you went through the swelling. I have the same swelling accompanied by shortness of breathe and high heart rate. I went to the er had ultrasounds of my legs, and my bloods came back elevated so I ended up having a cat scan to check for clots in my chest. Everything still normal but the swelling was unexplained. They sent me to a cardiologist where I had an echocardiogram. All normal. **Loss mentioned** the cardiologist told me from my previous ectopic with tube removal the scar tissue could be pressing on the vein of one leg from the uterus growing and that could be what's causing the one leg swell. He was surprised my ob didn't mention that. I'm not sure of your situation, but it started making sense so I could rest a little easier.
Omg! I am sooooo cranky! I'm usually a happy go lucky loud one but I've just been so cranky. I don't even want to leave the house to do anything lol
@fitlady21 I have gestational diabetes and my lowest so far has been 48. If you feel shaky, something like orange juice can help kick up your number quick. Sugars are tricky, with diabetes or not during pregnancy. I hope you feel better!
Spidey-legs here (veins for days!!). Hungry for all the wrong things (still Chipotle-which I am still afraid to eat). Tired, but can't sleep longer than 3 hours at a time (and DD always wanting to sleep with me doesn't help). Also, DH's lactose intolerance "nighttime emissions" REALLY not helping! He will be sleeping on the couch for a while after last night's "performance".

Also the pregnancy insomnia is awful.
Oh, and hemorrhoids. Eff those things.
