Baby boy is due in August and, although we didn't have trouble naming our girls, finding common ground for our son's name was a HUGE challenge. My favorites were Simon (I've been calling him this since we found out the gender), Joshua, and Isaac. The one and only name DH brought to the table was Atticus, and I'm just not a huge fan.
We settled on Titus--it has Biblical significance, which is important to me, and Roman associations, which is important to him. We felt like it was a solid compromise and we both truly do like the name, but I still can't imagine myself with a son named Titus (nn Ty)...I think just because I've "known" baby as Simon for so long and I thought our compromise name would be Isaac (he was coming around to it). I'm hoping Titus will grow on me.
What are your thoughts on the name (yes, I'm aware of the possible jokes and think it's a strong name regardless) and how we came to our decision? Anyone with a similar experience?
Re: "Compromise" name
Naming is a compromise, but you should both feel good about the name.
