  • 2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc.): THIS SHOULD BE MY LAST CHECK IN AS A BENCHED TTCALer!!!!! I might even make a second post at the end of the week that says WTO because I'll be sooooo excited and won't want to wait until Monday.

    3. Rants/raves: I have a big fear that despite my +OPK, loads of EWCM, and temp shift that I didn't actually ovulate and I'm going to be disappointed this weekend. My post O temps are low and riding my coverline pretty hard. Though my coverline is artificially high since my chart looks like the Rocky Mountains. It's also giving me crazy anxiety about my progesterone (which I'll be getting testing done for whenever I'm 7dpo this cycle). I'm really excited to start TTC again. We decided to only wait one cycle instead of 2 like my OB suggested so I'm having a little anxiety about that. But otherwise I'm so ready.

    4. GTKY: What's a life skill you wish you had? On the flip side of that, do you have any what might be called hidden talents?
I wish I was more creative. I would love to be able to do more DIY type projects but not only can I not think of or see things on my own, I can't even execute things I find well.

    2. Status. TWW 10dpiui. The fact that I haven't gone BSC crazy yet is a miracle. Test day is Friday. I really would love a BFP. I'm turning 38 Next Monday and a BFP would be the best gift ever. Come on universe!!!

    3. Rants/ Raves. Not much to rant and rave about. We do not have any 4th of July plans which is nice, so we're spending the day catching up on life so I'm happy about the extra day.

    4. GTKY. I wish I was more creative and had a talent for decor. I love flipping through home magazines and my Pinterest home board has a ton of ideas but I have a hard time putting it together. Hidden talents- I am really good at fixing things like appliances and figuring out general IT issues which is awesome because that is not DHs strong suit.

@renneeannemm Iwish I could sew too. I took Home Ec as well and I did miserable in the sewing part.

@AliciaGoose I hope you get that shift  on your chart soon!

@SnobunnieMel accidents happen- I envy your awesome memory!! That's a great talent.

  • 2. CD16 still waiting to O.

    3. DH and I both have off today. We are going for a bike ride in a little bit and then going to my friends 4th of July party. Totally obsessing over when/if I am going to O. Still haven't turned a positive opk but have watery cm and some cramping so I don't know.

    4. I wish I was better at doing my hair too. I feel like I just throw it up in a messy bun most of the time and would love to feel more pulled together. I have a good memory and can recall names and faces well and probably mostly useless info. Lol I can also read quickly.

    @MooFish2364. - that planner....
  • 1. Introduce yourself (if you're new): I'm Chloe- 2 miscarriages in 6 months

    2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc.): Benched. Officially on cd 49, still waiting for my first AF since my D&C. Still have to wait a week before Dr will see me.

    3. Rants/raves: See above. Yesterday we had our annual Fourth of July BBQ which I wasnt supposed to be able to host this year because I was supposed to have a newborn. Of this group of friends, 5 couples are struggling to get get pregnant or have miscarried, 1 couple had a 6 month old,  and the rest are single. The 5 women who were struggling all spent the afternoon glaring at the smug 28 year old with the baby (the rest of range from 37-41). I feel bad for her because she feels left out of things now that she has a baby, but I would do anything to feel that way, so I guess I don't really feel bad.

Also, my poor puppy has diarrhea. He's had bad accidents every time we leave him in the crate. He seems to be feeling ok, but cleaning up his poop is starting to get old. We started him on chicken and rice. Any other advice from seasoned dog owners?

Like @SnobunnieMel I suck at girl skills. Pony tails are my thing. I rarely wear jewelry. Putting together fashionable outfits ins hard for me. I'm also horrible at anything that requires hand-eye coordination. So basically any craft project.

Im no @reneeannemm, but I'm a fantastic cook and baker. I'm really good at improvising and making up recipes, I'm terrible at making it look pretty though!

@MooFish2364 That planner is amazing! Are those Red Wing stickers I see? Booooo!!

  • @chloe97 Try canned pumpkin for your pup
  • 1. Introduce yourself (if you're new): I don't know if I've participated in any of these before, but I had a MMC and D&C in April. My crack-ass doc told me I had to wait two cycles (which for me could easily be 6 months) before trying again. I told him no, and insisted on period inducing meds.

    2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc.): I recently started the process for another FET, and today I being the first set of injections to "calm" my ovaries (not like they do much anyway, thanks PCOS). I should be ready to transfer 3 embryos during the last week of July.

    3. Rants/raves: TTCAL is more emotional than I thought it would be. For us, there is nothing romantic or sexy or fun about trying to get pregnant. It is all very clinical. It has taken some of the joy away, but now that we've had a loss at 10 weeks, it's even less joyous. I feel ready for it to just be over.

    4. GTKY: What's a life skill you wish you had? On the flip side of that, do you have any what might be called hidden talents?: I agree with some of the others that I wish I had more "girl" skills. I am absolutely terrible at doing my own hair and makeup. It's not a huge deal because DH doesn't care, but sometimes I'd like to be able to get all pretty for parties/weddings. I don't know that I have any hidden talents, but I'm pretty decent at surviving while camping alone.

  • @AliciaGoose, @SnobunnieMel, @TScalei & @roxgibbons thanks! My DH used to think I was crazy but now he's just come to accept it. Lol

@chloe97 yep...I think this was a week in March when we were still playing hockey. I'm a lifetime Red Wings fan!
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • 2. WTO, CD2. I'm very naively thinking this will be our cycle, fingers crossed!

    3. Rave: I just bought a new thermometer, and holy crap is there ever a difference in accuracy. I'll admit I've been bad and not used a bbt thermometer in the past. I did a test run yesterday afternoon, my regular thermometer said 37.7 and my BBT said 37.15. That's a pretty significant difference. Anyways, yay for temping again!

    4. I wish I could do my hair better! It's so long and has so much potential.

In terms of talents, I don't think these are hidden per say, but I'm a pretty good cook and I can knit & crochet but I don't do it often enough, and I can grow food.
I look to recipes for inspiration but always just throw stuff together and create awesomeness. I'm really really good at knitting the half-hat and half-sock, haha. I start something and then get bored and I don't finish. Unless it's a blanket, those usually get finished.

Happy 4th of July to all my American friends
Wow I hadn't realized there are just 3 of us Canadians left! @reneeannemm @rainbowturtles

    3. Rants/raves: Went to a 4th of July parade and got a little sunburnt, and now have ridiculous tan lines from my shirt and sandals. However, it's beautiful outside so I can't complain.

    4. GTKY: What's a life skill you wish you had? On the flip side of that, do you have any what might be called hidden talents?

I wish I could sing or play an instrument. I also wish I could knit or crochet.

I'm pretty good about taking recipes and tweaking them to make them better. I can't, however, cook from scratch on my own, so I am a little limited. I also think I'm a pretty decent public speaker.
  • @reneeannemm glad you had a lovely weekend and excited for you doing SMEP (I had to google it and then was like oooohh right, I remember now lol) Also yay for a couple Canadians in the group ;)

@AliciaGoose hooray for burning the bench this week!!!

@SnobunnieMel glad that a break from the obsessiveness was at least a bit of a change of pace for you. Find the positives where you can <3

@MooFish2364 sorry for af being on the way and that things are so hard right now :( Very cool planner, tho, wow!

@roxgibbons eee! FX for an early birthday present this week :)

@TScalei enjoy your bike ride and day off with DH!

@chloe97 arggh!!! Frustrated for you that af hasn't shown yet!! Some yogurt or a probiotic (sprinkle the powder on his food) might help your puppy? Rice and chicken are a good idea, tho, too <3

@AandDM2014 so sorry for your loss, your struggles, and for the emotionality and "clinical-ness" of TTCAL (yes, I'm making up words now because I have a headache  :| )

@roper2617 I think I need to find a better thermometer, too! I know they don't need to be expensive but that there are differences in quality. I do hope this is your cycle :)

@Wishilivedinflorida GAH, I HATE weird tanlines.

    2. I feel like we're all over the place so I'll say TTA until supposedly September but WTO, CD13

    3. Well, I guess I can rave that I'm home from that stressful weekend which ultimately ended up okay. On the rant side, after all those babies around and all that baby talk among DH and his family, when we got home and finally got to HIO, he PO (P'dO?) and I started crying :'( I was too exhausted to have any extensive conversation about it aside from me saying I know he's not ready but it makes me sad when he does that and him saying he just wants to get a couple more things in order first. Also, last night was our first night sleeping together since Wednesday night because of the family trip and he's leaving for another 4 or 5 day work trip tonight after work, followed by another 5 day work trip the following Monday. I feel like with how little we get to HIO and he usually can only finish EOD anyways that why bother with POM when it takes away some intimacy and the chances are so slim and I know he'd be thrilled if it does magically happen anyways. Le sigh. Just wish I could turn off the crazy sometimes lol. End rant.

    4. Hmm, I wish I could play guitar and/or piano. One of the skills I do have is I have a beautiful singing voice (so I'm told) and while I have taught myself the basics of ukulele so that I can at least get on stage and accompany myself without needing other band members. But guitar would just be so much better!

  • 2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc.): TWW- not sure which day because I think I have a slow rise pattern going on this month, somewhere around 4dpo

    3. Rants/raves: my husband graduated the police academy last week and is officially an officer of NYPD and i'm so excited and proud of him. He has his first detail tonight for the macy's fireworks. I'm going to watch on tv to see if I can catch of glimpse of him, even though it's pretty much impossible lol a girl can hope.

    4. GTKY: What's a life skill you wish you had? On the flip side of that, do you have any what might be called hidden talents? i wish I could sing or dance, i'm terrible at both. I also suck at doing my hair. I'm ok at make up but I only really put it on for special occasions.

  • @AliciaGoose Glad being benched is almost over for you!

    2. TWW 9 DPO. I am going to try very hard to hold off on testing until Friday. We'll see how that goes lol

    3. Rants/Raves I'll be seeing my MIL today for the first time since the MC. I hope I can keep it together. She was so cute when we told her we were expecting.  :'(

    4. GTKY: I wish I could sew or knit. The only hidden talent I have is I have a really good memory.

Hope the American ladies are having a good 4th and hopefully Monday isn't sucking for everyone else!
  • @allysondunn2 I hope seeing your MIL goes well. I knew I felt like I was a horrible disappointment to my ILs after I miscarried the first (and second) time. I was surprised at how they were so much more concerned with my well-being than not being grandparents. I hope yours are equally loving and supportive.

@brooklyngirl18 Congratulations to your husband! I hop his first detail goes well!

@rainbowturtles I'm sorry your DH is stalling things. Hopefully he gets his stuff in order soon.

@wishlivedinflorida I'm so sunburned from yesterday too. It was only 70 out so I didn't bother to wear sunscreen. Oops!!
  • Super jealous of all the great cooks in this group!! @reneeannemm@chloe97@roper2617 and @Wishilivedinflorida. And I have $hit for a memory..wish I could borrow some from @TScalei@SnobunnieMel or @allysondunn2

    @MooFish2364 love your planner!

CD30, currently benched bc I am in the midst of yet another anovulatory cycle. Hoping to see AF sometime before cd45 and get closer to getting back to the preMC cycles of 33-35 days.

Rant: My BBTs are way lower than average and temping has really brought to light that I have issues and no chance of a BFP any time soon....that's had me pretty down in the dumps the last couple days.

GTKY - I wish I had an eye for fashion and had the patience to shop and put together cute outfits. I'm more of a throw on the gym clothes and go type. I also wish I could cook without a recipe...I make good food but it has to be from a recipe that I follow step by step.

I would consider myself a good motivational speaker. I was a college basketball coach and numerous times throughout the season I had players tell me that my pregame speeches gave them goosebumps <3

@SnobunnieMel Your amazing memory in a medical setting reminds me of Lexie Grey on Grey's Anatomy. What a cool skill to have in your back pocket.

@brooklyngirl18 Wow, what a huge accomplishment for your hubby. That's so exciting!

    2. TWW - CD 25, 6 DPO. This is my first TWW since early January! I'm trying not to get my hopes up though, since we weren't diligent at BDing and only took advantage of one day. I'm going camping on Friday, so I think I'll test that morning.

    3. Rave: I had a really wonderful Fourth of July with family. We BBQed, swam, and set off fireworks when the sun went down. I couldn't ask for more.

Rant: I live in one of the only cities in southern CA that still allows fireworks. This is awesome until about 9:30pm. It's after 11 now, and there are still idiots out there setting them off. (Thus, why I'm still awake.) It sounds like bombs or gun shots, and my dog is too scared to go outside. Enough already.

    4. I'm with @rainbowturtles on this one. I'd love to be able to play an instrument really well. I'd also love to have a great singing voice. I know my guitar chords, and I have a ukulele that I keep meaning to learn to play, but I haven't gotten around to it. I sometimes daydream about being a coffeehouse singer.

My not-so-hidden talent is that I have graphic design skills. I taught myself Photoshop a few years ago, and last year I opened an Etsy shop for custom Christmas card designs. I'm the go-to person among my friends for cards, invitations, and other printables.

  • @AliciaGoose Woooooohoooo, that bench was getting too hot anyway!

@SnobunnieMel I can't do my hair or makeup for shit either. My MIL is like that - her memory is spectacular. It's neat and I bet it means a lot to your patients, as well as being incredibly useful.

@MooFish2364 omg! So jelly over here of your Mario planner.

@roxgibbons I really, really hope this is your month. And cool! I love the idea of fixing things, but I'm just not mechanically inclined. I used to take apart broken appliances as a teenager and try to figure it all out.

@TScalei I'm the worst with faces, especially middle aged white men - which means tv shows, especially ones like Law and Order, can be impossible for me to follow.

@chloe97 I'm pretty new to food styling! I picked it up about three years ago when I started learning photography. Sorry about the diarrhea, our cat just had a really bad bout a couple days ago. What a mess! We gave her pumpkin, which I think is recommended for both cats and dogs.

@AandDM2014 Good luck with the transfer this month. And hooray camping!

@roper2617 This could very well be your cycle! I used to have very long hair which I did nothing with. Then I shaved half of it and that was like I styled my hair but required no effort on my part. Now it's short and shaved, so I do even less with it.

@Wishilivedinflorida Public speaking is so useful. I'm all right with it. DH is the worst, but he's tried a few times and even spoke at a programming conference. I think he'd be better now than when he did the first time. His work encourages people to practice at their weekly meeting - you pick a topic of interest to you and speak about it for five minutes and it's broadcast to all the offices (Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa). He's too shy to pick a topic and thinks he's boring.

@rainbowturtles I've always toyed with the idea of learning the ukulele!

@brooklyngirl18 Ah, yes the agony of the slow rise pattern. Should be clearer this morning?

@allysondunn2 How did it go with your MIL?

@SoonToBeMommaHowe I'm sorry. Any idea what comes next?

@shae86 Ahh, that's so neat! I do handmade cards for Christmas and they always look like a child designed them. Maybe I should consider buying, haha. Will you link to your shop, please? I'm big on stationery, as I love sending handwritten cards at random to my friends on the internet.

  • 1. Introduce yourself (if you're new): My name is Jennifer and I had a MC in October 2015, was benched a cycle, and then was TTCAL since then.  I got my BFP a few weeks ago and excitedly moved over to March 2017 BMB, but am sadly back here after an early MC/CP.

    2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc.): No idea.  I mean, I guess I’m free to go again once the MC bleeding stops, but DH and I are thinking we may NTNP this cycle.  I’m not in the best place right now.

    3. Rants/raves: I went to an amusement park with my family on Sunday and I rode (and screamed) on a bunch of roller coasters… so yes I was feeling better!
J  (I also ate cheesy fries, cotton candy, dirt pudding, strawberries, and dip n dots as my food for the day.  Cause I really just needed a day off of life.)

    4. GTKY: What's a life skill you wish you had? On the flip side of that, do you have any what might be called hidden talents? I have absolutely 0 talents with languages.  I’m lucky I’m decent at English, but I have failed miserably to learn any other language.  I do alright with learning to read them, but speaking them is like entering the twilight zone…
On the other side, I’m pretty good at sewing and baking.  So, at least I can make myself some new clothes when I eat too many brownies/cookies/cupcakes/etc to fit into my current ones.  And I was a darned good clarinet player back in the day.  I can still play, but not nearly as well as I used to be able to play.

@SnoBunnieMel I also suck at hair.  I can put mine into a pony tail and if it’s long enough a bun.  That’s it for my hair styles.  I prefer to brush and go.

    @MooFish2364 Awesome planner!

@Chloe97 We had an awful time crate training our puppy since he was never alone (DH can take him to work, and he stays home with me when I telework).  He would have awful diarrhea as well.  So, we had to start crating him about 10 min at a time when we were home to build a tolerance.  We would tell him to “go to bed” and give him a treat, quietly walk into another room and read/play on phones in silence and listen to him, wait until he’d calmed down from his beginning whining, and then come back with a treat and go play with him.  It was hell for a few weeks, but once he got used to it and could do about 20 min or so… now he’ll do 3 hours and be fine.

  • Late to the game on this one!

    2. TWW, 8dpo and actually not too much SS for me which is a change!

    3. Rave: This weekend was great! Just what I needed to get out of my funk! However I slacked all weekend and this morning on temping but oh well.
Rant: This may be TMI but in the summer I get this horrible rash underneath my breasts, assuming it is from heat/sweat, and have tried baby powder and lotion. The baby powder keeps it comfortable but doesn't seem to clear up the rash. Any other ladies out there have this problem?

    4. I really wish I could paint or write. I always get this urge to paint something but then quickly realize I have zero talent. I wish I could write a novel but I am pretty sure I am just better at reading them!

@dpjennifer Hope you're taking good care of yourself right now.

@lilylover27 A zinc oxide cream should help clear that up! You can find it, unfortunately with diapers and whatnot, at a drug store. As for the novel, have you heard of NaNoWriMo?

  • @reneeannemm my MIL tried to teach my to knit but I just couldn't learn from her. I instead learned from video tutorials. I am not the best but have made a baby blanket and two scarves so far. None of my projects I kept. I am currently working on a throw for our house but that has taken a back burner lately.
@aliciagoose YAY for hopefully being unbenched!

@rainbowturtles I'm so glad to hear that your stressful weekend wasn't as stressful as you thought!

@brooklyngirl18 Congrats to your DH! What an amazing accomplishment.

@dpjennifer I'm so sorry. I hope you are taking care of yourself.

@LilyLove27 I hear you on the novel thing! I have also always wanted to. I am a decent writer however I get caught up in the idea of needing things to be perfect instead of just letting a story flow. And @reneeannemm I've head of NaNoWriMo but I've never gone for it. I really should.

  • @shae86 I hear ya on the crazy fireworks. We have been dealing with insane fireworks every night for nearly a year now. Not only is it annoying after a while, but we are in a drought and nearly my entire state has had a ban on them. DH and I wake up every morning lucky that we haven't burnt up in a fire.

@dpjennifer I'm so sorry for your losses. I don't have any skills learning new languages but my cousin seems to be able to learn any language that he wants. He speaks Chinese, Korean, and is almost done taking all off his Kumon tests in Japanese.

@lilylover27 in glad you had a relaxing weekend. I tired to have one but it didn't really work out that way. I taught my self how to crochet by watching tutorials. It is one of the best things about the Internet...you can basically teach yourself anything.

  • @dpjennifer - Im glad you are taking care of yourself. A day off of life sounds nice!
  • Shout out to @AliciaGoose for encouraging me to check out this board. I am going to hang out here for awhile, if you will all have me.

    1. Introduce yourself (if you're new): Hello, I am going through a MC from a CP currently. I got my BFP on June 25th and then on July 3rd I started to miscarry. So, I am 3 days into that now. We were trying for our second baby and got pregnant on the 2nd cycle. But now obviously things are delayed. I have no experience with loss and don't know of anyone close to me that has been through this. The loss board has been so helpful the last couple days and I wasn't sure about TTC again for a couple days. I wanted to just stop for like a year and then a second later I just figured why not trying again this cycle. I was all over the place.

    2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc.): So, we have unofficially decided to get through this CP and then NTNP until I get my next period and then hopefully we will be in a good place to start TTC again.

    3. Rants/raves: If anyone has any experience with TTC after a CP I would appreciate hearing from you. It sounds like my cycle should get back to somewhat normal family quickly. Is that right? I am going to start charting again at the end of the week so I can have an idea of what my body is doing.

    4. GTKY: What's a life skill you wish you had? On the flip side of that, do you have any what might be called hidden talents?
I wish I could sew. I think that would be such a useful skill to have. Maybe one day I will try and learn. I am a pretty good cook, I just don't have the patience lately to do much in the kitchen. But, once I get going I really enjoy it and I am pretty good at it. I am also a pretty awesome crocheter. And I am a great listener and am good with emotions and empathy.

  • 1. Introduce yourself (if you're new): Not new, but... TTC # 2. Miscarriage at 9 weeks in November 2014, TTC ever since. On my first IVF cycle and awaiting frozen embryo transfer later this month or July, hopefully.

    2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc.): CD 1 today so starting to think about transferring an embryo.

    3. Rants/raves:
    ----TW Children mentioned-----
I had a great long weekend with my brother and his family. As much as I love seeing them it is very hard for me to see his kids with all of this going on. My siblings and I were all married in the same year, but now their kids are growing up and I'm still working on having them. It's a real visual reminder of how long this journey has been for me and is just hard.

Otherwise, I am trying to enjoy life everyday and not delay things I want to do. Life is too short and I try and take my infertility as a lesson to do what you want now. I'm going on a whale watch tomorrow with some friends, so hopefully that will be a nice sunny, day that can hopefully brighten my mood.

    4. GTKY: What's a life skill you wish you had? On the flip side of that, do you have any what might be called hidden talents?

I wish I was better organized. My mother was raised in the military and is super
organized and I am just not and struggle with it.

Hidden talent... I have a great sense of direction. I can find my way out of anywhere!

Will be back later to reply around!
  • @mrsstuessy I am so sorry you find yourself with us but these ladies are life saving.

I I have had 2 CPs in the last 3 months and have found my cycles are pretty much consistent. AF was different with them as it was 2 days of heavy clots then nothing but O day returns to normal as it should. Every one is different so I still recommend temping to figure out what's going on but I wish you the best of luck.

  • @SnobunnieMel Of course my experience could be totally different than yours. But, it is still helpful to hear from you. I had lots of heavy clotting on the first day and yesterday still lots of clots, but smaller. Today it seems pretty similar to a normal period. So, I guess we have that in common. I am hoping O comes back somewhat normally. I usually ovulate on about CD 20 so I still have over 2 weeks to wait.

  • @mrsstuessy- Im sorry to see you here. Welcome though!

@Bornready - I know seeing friends kids grow is definitely a reminder for me of how far behind I am. Your attitude is really inspiring me today I really need to work on just living and enjoying my life more. I feel like I keep putting so many things off bec I keep telling myself next month I will be pg and its been that way for over a year now. Its hard to enjoy your current life when you are just so focused on ttcal. Enjoy your whale watch - I have always wanted to do that!
  • @mrsstuessy very sorry you find yourself here but this a great board for support and all these ladies are awesome. I have never been part of a more helpful and accepting board. I hope your stay with us is short but we are more than happy to have you in the meantime!

  • @MooFish2364 So sorry you are feeling so defeated with this whole process. How long have you been TTC? I know that feeling well of feeling like it shouldn't be this hard. I know it's unrealistic, but I think getting a basic TTC workup should be a part of the TTC process. Nothing crazy, but doing a semen analysis and some basic bloodwork. I just feel like it would save people so much more time. Hugs to you.

@roxgibbons I am so with you on the talent in home decor issue. My husband and I are horrible at making decisions regarding furniture, art on the walls etc. We ultimately hired a woman to force the issue on us and give us choices to choose from.

@chloe97 Bummer about the puppy diarrhea issue. Canned pumpkin always works for us. I also cook rice, sweet potato and some boiled chicken. Helps to regulate things for my guy who has a habit of eating things in the woods that cause stomach issues. The crate was a nightmare for us too. His previous owner of 4 week before coming to us kept him in his crate all day long, so he would have a nervous breakdown every time we put him in it at night. We let him out one night, he laid down on the floor next to my side of the bed and he never turned back. Our old dog however loved her crate.

    @mrssteussy Sorry for your loss.
