@simplymizzj and @holly142 She's a little shy of 2 but had been begging for potty and underwear for months. DH and my mom both pressured me into it. I was supposedly self potty trained at 18 months and had no accidents ever. Sometimes I wonder about my mom's retellimgs....anyway...DD LOVES her princess underwear and I have seriously thought about going back to diapers, but I think she would be devastated and it would just make it harder for her to be excited about potty training next time. I'm wondering if some of the trouble was my fault because I was so paranoid about accidents that I never really gave her the chance to have them once we got into a rhythm, just always telling her to go based on the clock. I'm going to try not taking her to the bathroom if we are just home and reminding her to tell me if she needs to go so she can stay dry. She gets to pick her underwear in the morning and is sad when they go in the laundry. Hopefully something will click.
@whataboutscience Wow, that is impressive! Not yet 2 and already working on potty training. Maybe I'm just late in getting my daughter started; she just turned 2 last month but has been content being in diapers so we're thinking maybe start her on it when she's 2.5? With the newborn coming pretty soon, I'm not sure I'll have the time and effort to get her started at this point until we get into a routine with the new addition. Sounds like you're doing a good job, though. I probably wouldn't put her back on diapers either, esp. if she has been so excited about potty training, which is a plus!
@Weville I agree! I may just start to say how bad my back hurts or some bs at my appointment next week and I'll see where it gets me, if anywhere.
@LadyFleck congratulations! She is so cute. I was anxiously awaiting your announcement
@whataboutscience I'm impressed with your daughter! DH and I just started talking about potty training DD and are looking to start in the near future. She turns 2 on Monday. I think you're doing a great job thus far!!
@jwittwer today was my last day at work and I'm 39+3. I keep saying I may pick up a shift or two next week but it's unlikely. Working until the end is no joke. I'm glad my chiropractor fixed my sciatica enough that I was able to be comfortable these last few weeks.
we are not having anyone stay with us but my dad and stepmom live a few miles away. My sister will probably take a day off to help if I need her. MIL is a teacher and has the summer off and my mom doesn't work, so I think they will help when needed. I'm naively hoping we don't need a lot of help but I'm open to anything when its offered! I'm glad we don't have anyone staying with us though.
Oh, as far as people staying with us we aren't having anyone stay overnight but have had a lot of family visiting during the day. Our situation is different than many though in that both of our families live in town so it's easy enough for them to drop by for a few hours at a time. I think more than that would drive me a little nuts but it has been really nice having so much food brought by...
@hannahmp Thank you for posting about membrane sweeps! I actually came on here to ask about it. This is baby #2 but my midwife offered to do a membrane sweep next week for me, which is not something I had first time around.
Thank you @sboston06! It really was so beautiful. My OB even cried . Wishing you and all those still waiting h&h births also!!! PS just noticed we have the same anniversary date (except mine is 10.10.09) Love fall weddings!
Thanks ladies. I am surprisingly calm about the whole thing. Dh is concerned that I am either in shock or what he calls 'nurse mode' and not really processing it. Once I can drive, I plan on making an appt with my therapist.
@BecauseBabyIamAPug thank you for sharing your story. You and Alex had a rough journey, but I'm so thankful you were brought through everything safely! Hugs ❤
@BecauseBabyIamAPug glad to read your whole birth story. Looks like you're doing an awesome job thinking about your mental health and keeping an eye on things. So glad you're both safe!
Congrats @LadyFleck and @Singingmama10! Wishing you both a quick recovery. Enjoy those baby snuggles.
@BecauseBabyIamAPug I just finished reading your birth story and now DH wants to know why I'm crying. I'm so glad that you and Alex are ok. I can't even begin to imagine how terrifying that must have been. Sending creepy internet hugs your way.
