@kristynelson13 I will also be working during the tww. Otherwise I have a family wedding this weekend so that should be fun.
@Isthisthereallife I had a lot of side effects on clomid. Probably tiredness and irritability were the worst. Hope your side effects start easing up soon!

@isthisthereallife My apt is at 8:30. I was supposed to work a 12 hour day but got the whole things covered because I don't want to go back to work if it's bad news.

@becauselove IUI with injectables is 3600 plus 2000-3000 for medication. So 6600. IVF is 12,000 plus 3000-5000 for medications. So say 17,000. My clinic works with attainIVF and has plans to gaurantee you bring home a baby. Wed have to look into it more, but we'd rather finance 17,000 once, and be pretty much gaurantee instead of doing 3 or 4 cycles of IUI, having them fail, and still having to do IVF. We'd go in and do a consult with the financial lady there and see exactly what we qualify for and our best options before making any final decisions. Why do they charge more the older you get? That's not fair! And we want to go back to Upper Michigan where we both are from. Our parents are up there and I don't want to raise children away from my mom. It's hard to move back now with all this treatment because no where up there has any fertility clinics. I'd be driving 5 hours to where I am now or 3 or 4 hours to lower Michigan somewhere. So it's all a waiting game for us. It feels like my life is on hold until I get pregnant.

@fivetimesnoluck Fx Thursday is a lucky day for all of us!

@elisam511 So sorry for the BFN. A break sounds like a good idea. Sometimes I think it's the best thing to do to recover and reevaluate. Good luck to you in the future!

@becauselove I don't do a baseline US either. Just the midcycle day 13ish.

@elisam511 I'm so sorry for your BFN and your fur baby loss. That is a lot all at once. I hope you get the much needed time off/relaxation you deserve! Have some fun!!

@jkd2388  I feel like it's getting worse as the day goes on!! I have been SO hungry today. (I don't know if that's a side effect or if I'm using it as an excuse to eat everything in sight), and cramps, headache, tiredness. Oh my goodness. Just gotta keep telling myself it will all be worth it. I'm also trying to convince myself that the cramps are just me growing awesome, big, mature follies! Lol

@Toby102008 That's not a bad idea! At least you know you won't have 12 hours ahead of you either way! Maybe it'll be great news and you'll have the whole day to celebrate your beautiful follies! I'm thinking positive. This is going to be our month! I have a lot of the major leaders (including our CEO) arriving Thursday& Friday for our company summer picnic. So regardless of my news, I'm going to have to bring my A game. I'm a little nervous about it because of how timing will work out. In fact, I ended up telling my boss what was going on in case Friday I have to leave. Trying not to stress though until we know more.

I was curious as to what everyone's diagnosis is, if you don't mind sharing? I know some people have said, it's just so hard to keep up sometimes.

As as for me, annovulation is my official diagnosis I guess. My bloodwork all was normal this last time. Testosterone slightly high the time before, but my ovaries look polycystic she said. Obgyn diagnosed me with PCOS but RE wrote anovulation.

@Toby102008 I have DOR, low AMH, and suspected immune issue (specific to reproduction). DH has had a less than stellar SA but conception didn't use to be a problem for us. Our RE recommended moving ahead with IUI though as he says IF and Recurrent Pregnancy Loss are "first cousins" so he isn't surprised that we are now having trouble, even though we didn't previously.

Was your diagnosis a surprise to you or had you always suspected something like that?

@Toby102008 it's kind of a crazy story... We originally went to see an RE because my DH was on testosterone therapy and we were 99 % sure his sa would be at 0. Surprise to us, his count came back normal. After doing an ultrasound on me we discovered that my ovaries were smaller than they should be and my progesterone was low. This was causing my 24 day cycle and 7 to 8 day Luteal phase. I've never been pregnant before either so everything was starting to make sense. My RE is pretty certain that an IUI would work within 3 tries, so I'm hoping she's right.

My company has some fertility benefits so I've been blessed with that. We get a 15k lifetime, so when it's gone, it's gone... So trying to make sure we get the most bang for our buck.

@fivetimesnoluck Ours is retrograde ejaculation and it's on my DH's side. We also have low sperm
count. From my understanding, and especially on these boards, retrograde is not very common.

@fivetimesnoluck I'm so sorry to hear about the mc. :( that's always such a sad thing. For me it was a complete surprise. I started BC pretty much as soon as I got a period. It didn't start until I was 17. So I was always super regular on BC. It was the kind you had a period every 3 months and it always came right on time. I never thought I would have an issue. So when I got off it my regular doctor said it could take some time to get regular again. So we didn't really start trying, but we were preventing either. And after I wasn't getting regular and was missing periods (thinking I was pregnant) I was referred to an obgyn. Who diagnosed me with pcos. My cousins wife has it so I was kind of familiar, but I'm the rare percent that is actually underweight (which I know doesn't help conception either) and I don't get th acne, or excess hair growth. I don't get it, just my ovaries look polycystic and nothing else. My RE also thinks we have a good chance with IUI, if they can just get me to ovulate!

@jkd2388 Unexplained seems to be common. :( I think it's hard because you almost wish they would find something so they could fix it. I felt that way when I had my hsg. A part of me was like "okay if they just find a small blockage, they can fix it and this will all be over"  I'm originally from upper Michigan, but we're in Wisconsin now. An hour north of Milwaukee.

Hey ladies - Thanks for the warm welcome!  Good luck to everyone this month.

Some fun questions for the group:
    1. Do you already have baby names picked our or discussed?  Yes, we have two choices for boys and two choices for girls
    2. If I might ask...how old are you? 31 and husband is 38
    3. What did you do this weekend? Had a date night with the hubby Friday night.  Day date with a good friend of mine with a trip to the farmer's market, lunch, and then sangria at the winery.
    4. Do you have pets? Two dogs.
    5. Where are you from?  Illinois, close to St Louis.

@Toby102008 Official diagnosis is PCOS with ovulation issues.  I do ovulate but not regularly.  Last month was my first monitored month with my new RE.  My old RE couldn't care less about you unless you're doing IVF.  My new doctor is absolutely amazing.  I had one mega follicle, 28 mm, and that resulted in our 3rd failed IUI.  My ultrasound today looked great with no cysts.  I started Menopur today 75 iu for the next 4 days.  My next ultrasound will be on Friday.  Fingers crossed for 2-3 follicles so they don't cancel my cycle.   We're moving onto IVF in September if this one doesn't take.

For everyone who lives in Illinois - make sure you take advantage of the fertility mandate! I found a way to minimize the costs of all this and it has saved me a lot of sanity.  I've found out that a lot of people are unsure about how to navigate the system.  I bought healthcare through the exchange for $342 a month.  My out of pocket max is $3300 though and that includes meds. Basically, I will only be paying a total of $7404 for all of my treatments including IVF.  Sorry for the long post but maybe it can help someone who's struggling.

It's so cool that so many of you live near one another. I am on the coast of Georgia, so I will have to pass on the meet up ;)! But I wouldn't mind going somewhere that isn't 100 degrees right now...

@Isthisthereallife I do remember someone having a conversation on the IF board recently about retrograde ejaculation. (It may have been you!) I had never heard of that before.... I try to keep my chin up about having such unique issues and just tell my husband it is be cause I am soooo special.

@Toby102008 I think I have seen someone else on here refer to their version of PCOS as Lean, meaning they didn't carry extra weight but did have the ovarian issues.

Like I have told my friends, it is amazing to me that anyone ever has babies, now that I know how many things can go wrong along the way! This is not what they taught me in health class!

As for me, injection tonight and tomorrow, then U/S on Thursday.

@jkd2388 with my TI cycles, our doc had me go in for a beta 14 days after trigger. I am assuming his timing for this will be the same. My biggest question is whether I will have the IUI on Saturday or at the start of next week.... will just have to wait and see what the follies look like.

@fivetimesnoluck I couldn't agree more about people having babies! I swear, in high school they made it seem like if you even held hands with a boy - you're likely to get pregnant. And I swear it seems like some people can get pregnant through 2 condoms, a pack of BC, and doing it in the ear. Okay, maybe that last part was a bit of an exaggeration...but you know what I mean! It's so frustrating how "easy" it seems to be for some people, while it's such a struggle for others.

I'm gonna go head and get off my soap box now. Sorry.

Wowza Ladies you guys were busy this morning. :)

Diagnosis: I am from MN and my diagnosis is anovulatory...though it also enjoys the tag of obesity and advanced age :) I also got treated somewhat for PCOS but it isn't really diagnosed cause you have to have like 3 of 5 symptoms and I only had like 1 or 2. I was always a really irregular period person...like could go 9 plus months with out having one...and then sometimes would get more normal and then back to 6-9 months between. I actually often thought of it as a blessing...and when I started taking BC and it kinda normalized things more I would skip the placebos and just take back to back medication to keep the period at bay. No regrets. I am also don't react to the fertility meds uniformly...sometimes all the same things work great and sometimes all the sames don't produce a mature follie.

I likely should be looking at IVF more but being that it is so expensive here. 25k easily and IUI's for me are like $900 it seems better to go IUI's for a bit. Though the IVF goes up a $ amount when I hit 37 I believe. And I don't have any coverage for any of the fertility treatment so its all out of pocket. Also the only IVF clinics that I know of in the cities (2 of them I think) would need me to lose like 30 pounds...uffda!

Actually when we officially started trying to get KU'd I thought I might get some empathy and understanding from some of my friends that are in there late 30's "trying to" getting prego...but none of them have had any issues...the moment they stopped birth control...bam a baby appeared. So its not just the teens. :)

Betas: We don't really do beta's first. I do home prego tests and if any of them go positive then I would go to my local clinic and do a blood draw and they would send the blood to lab (which they only send it to the lab every 2 days I think) 2 hours away for testing which would then send the results to my dr. lol slow process. So I am testing 7/26 or until my AF comes. Or earlier if I can't stop myself.

kristynelson13 Honestly I have been known to test daily on cheapies...sometimes it just takes the drama out of it...and I don't have the huge negative response to BFN's...so that could just be me.

fivetimesnoluck I agree..shocking about anyone getting accidentally ku'd now that I know what I know. FX for good follies!

bpfeiff1984 that is awesome about the fertility mandate! Thank you for sharing! Damn the failed IUI's so frustrating! Hopefully this is your lucky 1! That is awesome that you have both agreed on names. Did you have names before you met or figure out them together?

@BecauseLove I thought the same thing when I started trying too.. Most of my friends are in their mid-thirties, but I swear they become pregnant just from their SO looking at them. My fb is full of ultrasounds, its frustrating, but Im not the kind of person that gets mad at it... just have a little silent jealousy, but am happy for them...

I probably will test everyday, BFN's dont really affect me.. I think I would be incredibly shocked if I were to get BFP.. Feels like a unicorn at this point, but hopefully this will be a lucky cycle for us all...

I have been feeling so incredibly bloated, crampy, sleepy, sore bb's (which i never get), etc... probably since I took the shot... I dont know if its a combination of the progesterone & estrogen that Im taking or the fact that 4 follies are wreaking havoc on my uterus.. but my left side has been aching non-stop... Hoping the latter is the case!

@BecauseLove we've had our names figured out for awhile. My husband and I have been together for ten years and married for two.  Names have always been something we'd discuss for fun, almost like a little game.

I'm sorry you're not getting much empathy from your friends.  Being in my early 30s, everyone around me is pregnant including one of my best friends.  I'm trying my best to be happy for her but I also feel like I have to distance myself a little.  We've talked about it and she seems to understand. I don't want her to feel as though she can't celebrate her pregnancy and I know that's difficult when I'm around.  For some reason I can be around babies but pregnant women just make me want to crawl into a ball, cry, and drink wine (lots of wine)!

@fivetimesnoluck My OB was convinced it wasn't pcos at first because of my size, but after my testosterone was slightly high and he saw my ovaries, he said it was. But my RE was leaning more towards just annovulation. I'm going to ask her Thursday is she actually thinks it's pcos or not. Just so I know.

@kristynelson13 I know what you mean about Facebook being full of moms and pregnancies. It's depressing!

I bought those wondfos myself last week. I just don't know if I want to test out my trigger. I'm scared to see a positive test when I know it's not real. It seems like a lot of you test it out though. Maybe I will suck it up and do it, that way if the IUI does work I'll know the BFP is real.
