As for me, I'm still spotting - 7 days now which is odd for me, but "you're regular until you're not." I started to get crampy this morning and thought "FINALLY!" but the cramps went away. Hopefully AF comes this weekend so we will have a timeline for this IUI! (Never thought I'd be this excited for AF to come lol)
I know how hard everyone say the TWW after IUI is, but this TWW before mid cycle ultrasound sucks too! Lol. One more week, one more week, one more week.... I do not have the patience for this! I'm so glad DH surprised me with a weekend getaway. I think he knows I'm going crazy.

Toby102008 off for my ultrasound on Monday...gotta love the 2 hour drive to the dr's and then 2 hour drive home for what is usually a 20 min or less dr appointment. Oh well. Fingers crossed for mature follies...but to be honest I feel doubtful that they are big..usually my ovaries kinda start to ache as I get closer to a possible trigger (and sometimes even when the ovaries are full but with no mature follies) and nothing this cycle.
Anyways to make sure the day is awesome regardless I am going to pick up this crazy good pie that they make about a hour and a half from my house on my way home. If no good follies I can drown my sorrows in pie.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. As for me, back to work first thing in the morning. Finished my Femara today. Only side effect was a headache the first day and last day on it. Much better than the Clomid. I'm now anxiously awaiting my US Friday morning.

Does anyone use opk during iui cycle? I was just wondering if trigger shot would give any false readings. Id like to use this cycle since last cycle I feel like I ovulated late.
@jkd2388 My RE wants me to use OPKs day 10 until my mid cycle US. Just to make sure I don't ovulate early before I get in to see them. Then after they trigger me I'm not sure if they want me to continue or not. I know the trigger can affect hpt but I'm not sure about OPKs. Sorry I can't be more help.
@Isthisthereallife Thanks The IUI was super easy, way less painful than I expected, and now just to wait (which is actually longer than 2 weeks, because my RE tests a week and a day after the IUI, so because my IUI was a Friday, I have to wait til the following Monday, although they did say I could do an HPT over the weekend if I was really chomping to find out). We'll see, I guess!
A trigger shot will definitely give a false reading on an OPK @jkd2388, the same way you will get a positive HPT after the trigger shot. From my understanding the trigger shot is pretty reliable down to a 36-40 hours for ovulation. I know for me I ovulated exactly 40 hours after the shot. You should need OPKs after you have your ultrasound and are triggered.

@jkd2388 They also recommend the clear blue digital. But not the advanced digital for some reason. So now I have to go out and buy some. For the price I'm paying for the IUI, they should throw them in for free. Lol.
Woo hoo. Just got done with the ultrasound. 25 follie. Trigger shot this afternooon. Iui #2 on wed at 9am. Feeling good! And I have pie in my car too...so that's a extra bonus now. It's a raspberry cream pie with a pavlova crust. So super fluffy and lucious.

Good evening ladies! I haven't been on in a few days, just getting caught up on all the pie talk (sounds so yummy) and bad friend talk (she sounds terrible!). Also, the chart is great!
I'm drinking tea and still having hot flashes from the clomid. Haha. I went for my CD 14 ultrasound today, doc said there are 3 good follies, so I triggered tonight with ovidrel. IUI#4 will be on weds at 9:30! Trying to talk myself up to be romantic with the hubs tonight even though I feel like I'm coming down with something. The trials and tribulations of trying to conceive!
The 3 follies is more than I usually have (in the past it was 1 or 2). Makes me a little nervous about multiples. Like obviously I just want this to work and but I'm also scared. Doc said risk of twins is 7-8%, risk of triplets 1 in 1000. Not too bad. Also read that of people who get pregnant with IUI, for 90% it happens in the first 3 tries. Now that I'm on my fourth try, hoping I'm in that 10%?!

AF finally came over the weekend and I went in for baseline ultrasound yesterday afternoon. If everything stays on track, our IUI will be on July 22! DH and I see to be in a better state of mind for this round. We are definitely not as stressed out like we were with the first one! Anyone else notice this after their first rounds?
Had my ultrasound this morning, one follicle at 18 and one at 16. Thinking I'll be triggering in a day or so and iui this week. Will be waiting for the phone call all day!

Good morning! Gosh, I am so excited to finally have been accepted as a member! I have been trying to study all the acronyms so I can appropriately participate, but I hope you will be patient with me as well. My husband and I are complete newbies to the world of infertility and while my husband is overwhelmed with all the information, I seem to be overwhelmed with all of the emotions. We will be starting our first month with IUI, with fingers crossed. According to our doc, we are borderline IUI/IVF and could really go either way. So I work at a small vet clinic, and two of the girls there are trying to get pregnant as well. Found out today one of them is pregnant after 7 months of trying, and they are 5 years older than me. Having a hard time with it, but trying not to show it. Losing hope this iui will even do anything. Sorry just needed a quick vent.
Toby102008 off for my ultrasound on Monday...gotta love the 2 hour drive to the dr's and then 2 hour drive home for what is usually a 20 min or less dr appointment. Oh well. Fingers crossed for mature follies...but to be honest I feel doubtful that they are big..usually my ovaries kinda start to ache as I get closer to a possible trigger (and sometimes even when the ovaries are full but with no mature follies) and nothing this cycle.
Anyways to make sure the day is awesome regardless I am going to pick up this crazy good pie that they make about a hour and a half from my house on my way home. If no good follies I can drown my sorrows in pie.

I got the call from our office today with my protocol... I will take a small dose of Dexamethasone (steroid) for CD1-18 (actually starting today, so CD2-18). Will take a small does of Clomid CD6-8, Menopur on CD9 and 10 and then have U/S on CD11 to determine dating of next steps.
I have DOR, but otherwise have a regular cycle and ovulate on my own, so much of my protocol (Prozac, Clomid, steroid, Trental, Menopur, etc) is mostly serving to try and produce a Good Egg.
Question: For those who have done this before, when you have your ultrasound, does that determine your trigger and IUI date? What is the typical time frame between trigger and actual procedure?

Welcome fivetimesnoluck! I hope this cycle brings you a good egg! The ultrasound (or some people ultrasounds) determine when you get the trigger (based on the size of your follie or follies) and then usually 36 hours (this varies based on some dr's) you get the IUI.
That is awesome news jkd2388. What kind of trigger are you using? My husband hates giving me the pregynl because it uses such big needles and requires him prepping the medication vrs ovideral which just goes int my tummy and is a little needle already loaded. I had a ton of side effects on ovideral and very little on pregynl. No worries though I don't think injections hurt much...basically the same as just getting a shot at the dr.

I have only used ovidrel. That's what I'll be using again this month. That's nice your husband does it for you! I give myself the shot, but I also gives shots on a daily basis and he can't look at needles so figure it's better that way haha.
jkd2388 Not sure I could give myself the Pregynl as it needs to go into my butt in a specific spot and you have to get the needle all the way in...ouch...but the Oviderel in my tummy seems dooable. Gotta love squeamish husbands. Nice that your not nervous about it. Do you have much side effects from the Oviderel when you take it?

@becauselove Oh yes, I'm always calculating my "due date" and coming up with scenarios of our future living situation. We're 4 hours from our home towns due to DHs work. But we want to move back and buy a home when our lease is up in April. Which would be right in time for baby.
@BecauseLove I don't get too many side effects from the shot itself. I just feel when I ovulate and how bad it is depends on how many follicles I have. What kind of side effects did you have from it?
@Toby102008 I am glad I'm not the only one who does that!! I try to plan how the next months will go and when I'll be due every month.

I'm just thinking about the pie now did u say u had 25 follies or one at 25? And I always look to see when the due date is, I can't help myself!! O and @lady_grey don't worry about multiples it's highly unlikely just more of a chance for the magic to happen. I had 3 follies once and was so upset I missed my IUI (death in the family) I tried so hard to have it done but anyway be EXCITED that ur odds r better!! @jkd2388 I have to say I have workers all she and sizes and just so frustrated it's not happening. It's very hard so vent away we certainly all get it!!!

As for me, I'm still spotting - 7 days now which is odd for me, but "you're regular until you're not." I started to get crampy this morning and thought "FINALLY!" but the cramps went away. Hopefully AF comes this weekend so we will have a timeline for this IUI! (Never thought I'd be this excited for AF to come lol)

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. As for me, back to work first thing in the morning. Finished my Femara today. Only side effect was a headache the first day and last day on it. Much better than the Clomid. I'm now anxiously awaiting my US Friday morning.

I'm drinking tea and still having hot flashes from the clomid. Haha. I went for my CD 14 ultrasound today, doc said there are 3 good follies, so I triggered tonight with ovidrel. IUI#4 will be on weds at 9:30! Trying to talk myself up to be romantic with the hubs tonight even though I feel like I'm coming down with something. The trials and tribulations of trying to conceive!
The 3 follies is more than I usually have (in the past it was 1 or 2). Makes me a little nervous about multiples. Like obviously I just want this to work and but I'm also scared. Doc said risk of twins is 7-8%, risk of triplets 1 in 1000. Not too bad. Also read that of people who get pregnant with IUI, for 90% it happens in the first 3 tries. Now that I'm on my fourth try, hoping I'm in that 10%?!
We spent our weekend moving back into our house, and then on Sunday, I woke up with awful food poisoning. So it has been a really hard two days. I'm back at work today though and hoping to make it through the day.

Question: For those who have done this before, when you have your ultrasound, does that determine your trigger and IUI date? What is the typical time frame between trigger and actual procedure?

That is awesome news jkd2388. What kind of trigger are you using? My husband hates giving me the pregynl because it uses such big needles and requires him prepping the medication vrs ovideral which just goes int my tummy and is a little needle already loaded. I had a ton of side effects on ovideral and very little on pregynl. No worries though I don't think injections hurt much...basically the same as just getting a shot at the dr.

Lower estrogen level 207 (wanted above 300 but over 200 was acceptable), started 1 estrace, progesterone in oil every other day, vivelle dot patches 4 every other day, 3x estrodiol daily, vitamin cocktail. POAS: - 4dp5dt and 5dp5dt, 6dp5dt frer very very very faint line. 7dp5dt and 8dp5dt + on Accuclear. 8dp5dt pregnant on a clear blue easy digital. 214 pounds at FET

I don't get too many side effects from the shot itself. I just feel when I ovulate and how bad it is depends on how many follicles I have. What kind of side effects did you have from it?

@jkd2388 I have to say I have workers all she and sizes and just so frustrated it's not happening. It's very hard so vent away we certainly all get it!!!
