What's your favorite? This is my new obsession at night is picking out my next one!! My daughter was pretty anti-stroller but then I got hooked to all the wraps and slings
I used a Moby at first but I now have several woven wraps, an Infantino mei tai, a Babyhawk mei tai, an Ergo, and a toddler Tula. I really like my Babyhawk and my Tula. I love wrapping but my daughter is too up and down and impatient.
I had 2 moby wraps for when DD was younger. I got an infantino meitai and hated it. I finally splurged on an ergo and it was the best investment. I have my eye on a fancy 360 ergo (but it is $180! Ahh!).
What are the average prices for good wraps? I've never been around them so I don't know much about them. I've really only seen them while out and about.

When he was tiny I used the k'tan because wrapping seemed overwhelming but that only lasted until he was about 15lbs and then my back was going to die. Which was like 2 months for my tiny beast. Then we had an ergo which we frogged him in but it didn't have as many options for positioning. Then I got a lilliebaby which I loved and was way soft BUT it didn't have a pocket and man I wear a lot of leggings as pants so I need something with a pocket.
The struggle is real.
I I think now everything has a pocket though and I'm considering a ring sling for the tiny stage. I was never able to nurse in a carrier which was like my life goal.

There are some Facebook resale groups. Babywearing on a Budget has wraps and carriers for under $100.There is also The Babywearing Swap and you can find brand specific resale Facebook pages. Some carriers resell for more than they were retail and it honestly depends on on your taste and budget. I've paid $50 for a wrap and I've paid $200 which is still on the lower end cost wise. I paid $30 for my Infantino, bought my Ergo off Craigslist for about $50 but it was also a specific print I really wanted, I traded a wrap for my Babyhawk. I think I paid around $30 for my water slings.
I've been on the Babywearing Swap looking at all the pretties. Since this is our rainbow, I've told my H that I'm buying a rainbow RS, wrap, WC and I don't want to hear anything about it. I used a RS and Tula with DD and really liked them. We currently have a toddler Tula that we use once in a while.
I loved my moby when my guy was tiny and then got an ergo 360 when he was a little bigger. I used it pre-6mo facing in and then probably 6-12mo facing out. I probably stopped wearing altogether around 12mo so I never tried the backpack setup.
I love my ergo and I'm trying to decide if I'm going to get the infant insert this time or just use my moby again. I've heard the infant insert gets hot, but Feb might be the perfect time of year for that.
We had the conventional ergo and the toddler tula. Kid could nap amazingly well in the ergo, and like @ohstars said Feb might just be perfect for the infant insert. I second ebay/local mom listservs/FB groups. Tulas are pretty stable with their resell price, but I've seen ergos for under $50.
@fourPsinapod thanks so much for the links. I checked them each out
@cantalopes24 thank you for the suggestions to look to purchase. I don't have Facebook so will have my sister look into that for me. And thanks for some price estimates. I really didn't expect any of this type of item to run more than $100- $150... kinda funny since all baby gear is quite pricey in my opinion.
@grapeskittles4lyfe I forgot to check eBay. BTW ur tag name makes me think of my daughter, she loves everything related to grapes, and grape flavors
Everyone else, I'm glad you included specific brands/names I never knew what to look for, now I can get my Google on
We're using the Moby for when LO is tiny and then moving onto the Ergo.
Honestly, I checked out some babywearing groups and they are intense. How many wraps/slings/carriers does one person need? And apparently if you own a Tula and another Tula user sees you IRL, there's like a special call you're supposed to yell out?

I'll probably start with our RS, which I LOVE. DS is pretty happy with it too, but he's not really into being worn anymore. I kinda want a Tula, but I already have a wrap, RS, k'tan and the Chicco carrier which was literally used once.
I have a standard canvas Tula, DD loves it! With this baby on board, if it's a DS I might consider a WC or ring sling. The one I have now is very distinctly girly and I'd feel bad putting a boy in it...
I just splurged on a Becco Soleil and I was kicking myself for waiting so long. My back was screaming using my consignment Baby bjorn. I want to get those shirts that apparently can be used as a carrier but I'm alittle skeptical. Anyone used them before?

I had the infant insert for DS #2. He was born in winter, and it was awesome! I never worried that he'd get cold between store and car.
I love love my Mei Tai and toddler Tula. We also have more than a handful of ring slings. I'm hoping my oldest daughter will want to wear the baby this time around too.
Expecting #5 Rainbow baby after 3 losses Due February, 2017
we wore my son (now 3) as long as we could. it was great. he hated facing in though and only ever wanted to face out. we had a regular ergo but didn't use it that much. this time I want a ergo 360 or another one which allows the kiddo to face out.
When you've been married this long, you need a ticker to remind you.
I wore my tula daily (see my profile picture) with my last baby until she was about 18 months and sporadically afterwards. I think this time I'm going to go with a ring sling and tula again.
Rachel, mama to Ava (6), Olivia (4), Nora (2), and baby#4 on the way.
I used a beco Gemini with my last 2 in the newborn phase and then got sucked into the Tula world. I currently own more tulas in both standard and toddlers then need! Kept standards around hoping for another. Trying to avoid the rabbit hole that is handwovens, but have a feeling I will take the plunge. Just waiting to find out sex to figure out what to keep.
LOL! I'm laughing so hard at the special call that you have to make. I've never heard of that, and I own two tulas. I would never do that but now I'm worried someone is going to perform some strange call at me when I'm out walking.

I only learned about it when I joined a FB group called Tula in the Wild. Then there's a spinoff to that group called Tula in the Wild Uncensored.
Maybe that's just a myth? I have heard good things about Tulas and am still doing my research between that and the Ergo.

That's intense, man! I'm really excited to baby wear but I have to admit the extreme passion it elicits is kind of a mystery to me. Maybe I'll get it once I do it. I'm leaning Ergo with a k'tan for the very early days. Mainly because the Ergo comes in an adorable whale pattern and the k'tan seems so much less intimidating to me then the Moby.
I haven't heard any mention of Boba! I love both my Boba wrap and carrier. I got the wrap when DD was about 2 months old and wish I had it from day 1. We used it about 6 months and then I invested in the carrier. DD is almost 2 now and we just used it the other weekend - great products!

It's a not a myth. And if someone cawcaw'd at me in public I would probably side eye them. You're supposed to say "Tula in the Wild" and they cawcaw at you but some people apparently just cawcaw. I love carriers and I have a lot because I like to collect them and I use them for different circumstances. It's not really something I talk about to other people though unless they ask, maybe because I only have one friend with a kid?
My best combo was Baby K'tan and an Ergo360! I had a k'tan and it was great for the newborn stage, but my little quickly outgrew that. I also had a Boba but the wrapping seemed like it took forever to get on and secure. I am petite so that may have had something to do with it! I finally splurged on an Ergo 360 when my son was 4 month, and fell in love!! We still use our ergo and DS is 20 months!
I had a K'Tan which I used for a few months, but I'm large chested and it didn't feel right as my baby got bigger. I did a Maya ring sling which I liked for a bit. I hated my Mei Tai. I got a standard wrap from Little Frog, but honestly.... too much work. Unless I wanted to spend a bunch of time learning to get quick, I just didn't see the benefits of it. Then I got a Beco Gemini, LOVE. And then moved into the Tula world, where yes, we cawcaw at each other. I love my Tula. It has rockets on it.
Sort of related: does anyone know where you can find a wrap, scarf, or something similar to this? I don't want to spend a fortune (i.e. $40) for it but I would like to use it for the hospital and newborn pics.

That's a silly thing, and many people don't. Forgo the groups and just check out the BST pages. Talk about a rabbit hole...
Loved loved loved my ring sling in the newborn stage (right up to about 4 months) then i got a ergo, that thing rocked!! Going to buy a new ring sling, and my ergo this time around..

Seeing that it's just strips of cheesecloth dyed rainbow colors, I would check stores like JoAnn or Michaels. If all else fails, you could get many different scarves in different hues/fabrics to give variety in texture. It looks super cute though!

Also if you do your own crafty things. I'm sure it would be a piece of cake to dye your own... looks like you could sell it for $40 when you're done with it too
Not to tempt anyone... but zulily has several different carriers on sale! I don't know if they are what any of you were looking for, but thought I'd share just in case!
We started with Solly wraps- buttery soft and lightweight. After DD got too heavy we transitioned to Ergo and at 11 months she still loves to be carried in it.
